However no matter how many features you can throw in it's critical to get the basics right. And since Samsung knows how to create world class displays that is why I find this monitor a disappointment. If they had put in their acclaimed mini LED technology into this display it could have been great. But as a first generation feature set for a desktop monitor I think they are heading in the right direction. There are so many features here that once refined a bit more this has the possibility of creating a whole new category of desktop displays. This is a 4K 60hz VA panel. VA panels are very common and known for their high contrast and deep blacks. They are less regarded for their off axis viewing which should not be a problem in a desktop monitor since you usually will be right in front of it. Also at 32” it is quite big which I see as a plus. The Samsung website also lists this monitor as being available in a 43”. The actual display looks fine in most cases such as when looking at text. But where it fails is in pop. That is the colors are a bit muted which is typically not what you get in most Samsung displays where they are sometimes criticized for having colors that are too saturated. Also this display is only average in its brightness level. So it is not a good choice for HDR content. And to be fair, true HDR monitors are expensive and not really that common just yet but I suspect they will be more common in the future. Samsung certainly knows how to make HDR displays so this is probably my biggest complaint here. My other problem is what makes this a smart display. And that's the Samsung Tizen operating system they have added here. This monitor, like my 2022 Samsung TV, suffers from bloat. Tizen is just too slow and very busy. They really need to go back and mute it so it is not so in your face. Now as a computer monitor it will just pass through and in many cases it's a monetary inconvenience that you may never have to really interact with. But when you do it can be annoying. The good news is with some trimming that can all be fixed in future generations of this smart display so I am hopeful Samsung is listening. The good news is for the right user this monitor can almost be great. In fact, paired with a Samsung phone you don’t even need a computer. DeX, which is a desktop operating system available in most new Samsung phones, is easy to start on this monitor and once you learn some of its quirks it could replace the need for a dedicated computer. However I still find it a bit limited and I wish Samsung could somehow provide a full Windows experience. It still has a ton of potential for the right users. Along with a feature set that seems endless you could use this monitor without anything else connected to it. But with all that included here I do wish Samsung had put in a TV tuner and added a PIP mode. It seems contrary to my comments on feature bloat but I think putting in a TV tuner, making this a true HDR quantum dot display, adding HDMI 2.1 which allows for 120Hz refresh rates and then toning down Tizen, now you would have something special here. And I hope Samsung moves in that direction. Still with that said, you do get lots of features that I don’t think anyone else matches. I don’t see this as a bad monitor at all but to me it is more a proof of concept that if Samsung wants it could be great. Especially if they can keep the price down to what other 32” monitors cost.

"Smart" monitor is really stupid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it connects, it's great. The issue I have is that every time I move my laptop from being connected to the monitor, it has to be reset. It will not automatically connect back to my laptop. This is very frustrating because I end up unplugging and re-plugging the USB-C and the power cord several times before it actually connects. This all results in me losing about 30 minutes of productivity trying to get the stupid monitor to work! I would never buy a "Smart" monitor again. It is NOT worth the money, or the aggravation.

Perfect productivity and entertainment monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want something for FPS or racing look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a good size monitor that DOUBLES as a smart TV then this is perfect. This monitor has Tizen built in. Tizen is Samsung's smart TV software that enables you to download apps such as streaming services directly form your TV. This monitor is perfect for an office that doubles as a guest room. For me, this is a game changer because my office doubles as a guest room and my guests don't need to fiddle around with a computer and can use the included remote to access apps such as Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus, etc. If there is an ap on the google play store, you can download it on the monitor/TV. Now as for productivity goes, I can comfortably review word documents and excel spreadsheets at various viewing angles. If I was in college and in a dorm room, this would be the perfect monitor since it doubles as a smart TV. Now the reason I said look elsewhere if you want FPS or racing is because the monitor has a 60Hz refresh rate. However if you're ok with that refresh rate in FPS or racing then this will fulfill all your needs now and later.

Excellent Monitor for Business Apps and Coding
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this monitor for working remotely with a Mac M2 laptop. Image is excellent for text quality at 4K (Use 125% scaled setting on Mac) with no ghosting and very good contrast. When viewed from oblique angles, brightness drops but this is not an issue for normal use. Connection to my M2 for both power and signal is a single usbc cable (included with the monitor). Connection works perfectly except I have to set the M2 to not sleep since it forgets the monitor settings when awakening. Overall fit and finish is minimalist and not cheap looking or feeling. Stand is stable for me and monitor has cable management strap in back. I also run a wired usbc cable to the built-in monitor hub connection on the monitor and it works well.

Good, not great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is really decent, with a fair amount of brightness. It hits about 1000 nits. I was disappointed to find that there aren’t any display ports on it. The smart tv features are nice to have on a monitor, but I certainly don’t need to see the game mode bar every time I turn on my computer.

Awesome Smart Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is great. You don’t even really need a computer with this thing since it’s a smart monitor. Maybe a mouse and a keyboard, but it comes with a remote! Love it.

SAMSUNG Warranty is Deceiving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed by the warranty service from SAMSUNG. This product has one year warranty. However, the warranty policy of SAMSUNG for this product is equivalent to NO WARRANTY AT ALL. I purchased this monitor from Amazon. However, soon after Amazon return window closed, the usb-c port of the monitor stopped working. I called SAMSUNG for a repair. It took over two weeks and several phone calls with SAMSUNG customer service to finally know that the only way I can get a repair service is to pack and ship this big monitor to New Jersey. Furthermore, SAMSUNG is unable to provide a timeline on how long the repair will take! I work from home, and this is my primary work monitor. Hence, I cannot ship away the monitor for an unspecified period of time for a repair in addition to the fact that what a big hassle it is to pack and ship such a big item. I told SAMSUNG about my concern and suggested them either one of the two solutions: (1) someone come at my home and repair the monitor, or (2) SAMSUNG send me a new replacement monitor and I will ship the faulty one so that I do not have to be without monitor for an unspecified period of time. SAMSUNG did not consider any of the solutions that work for me, and basically I am stuck with the faulty monitor. The way SAMSUNG is dealing with the warranty, it is just deceiving customers!

I really hate this monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually have plug n play peripherals. But this one was anything but that. Seems like Samsung was more interested in gathering data about me. I purchased this to replace an LG that just all of a sudden went on the blink. I've had that monitor for over 15 years. My other two LG are 1300 miles away. So I needed a new one pronto. Well, after more than 2 hours trying to get this to connect to my computer, I give up. The wireless could see the smart monitor but wouldn't connect. Manual connect did not work. Samsung Easy Connect did not work. And the audio was very low. Not sure why speakers are even advertised. My LGs have really good audio. This has really turned me off trying another Samsung monitor. Shame as I like their smartphones. I'll be returning this tomorrow and picking up something else. I rarely return anything.
