I linked the sensor to my Smarthings Hub and assigned it to send me text messages once it detects the door opening. I also assigned the sensor to turn on some lights once the door is opened. It works like a charm, and it can detect door vibrations, and temperature logging.

There is no way to arm or disarm the system outside of the APP. SmartThings needs to listen to the people that buy this system and get either a FOB or KEYPAD to perform a simple function to arm or disarm. My experience with Samsung is that they don't listen to the consumer, at all.

We do offer an Arrival Sensor which upon arriving or leaving your home can initiate any number or programmed routines including arm/disarm and can work just like a fob. My fiance has started to get annoyed with how many of these there are, but now she is on board as we can have our entire house automated. I am very happy with these sensors, and do believe they are worth the asking price. They work extremely fast with the gen 3 SmartThings hub
