This is a much better sensor than the V1 of the Samsung Mult-Sensor. If you are thinking of buying the older ones at a discount, save yourself the pain of having them drop off the network every other day. That's not to say these done drop from time to time, but I have noticed when they do. They seem to recover on their own. No resetting need.

I just picked this up and so far so good. Easy setup, took only a few minutes.

Great for automation. works great with alexa through smartthings hub. wjen actovated alexa lets me know my door or mindow is open through vpice and text message. it can even turn connected lights on or off. disable skill in alexa and enable if automation not working!

I own two of the previous generation sensor, and this is a great improvement. Battery life seems better, and the magnet portion is much stronger, by at least twice as strong. Only real negative change is the lack of mounting bracket, but this design is better for how 99 percent of use cases will be.

Needed to replace an original gen 1 multipurpose sensor. Looked around at various brick and mortar places as well as online. When all was said and done, Best Buy was the best bet. The updated version is great and I had it configured in my apartment in less than 5 minutes. its worked flawlessly since.

I love the versatility of this sensor, It is a fairly compact size so finding a place to mount it shouldn't be hard and the different things that you can program it to notify you of or control via Smartthings is awesome. The possibilities are endless.

Are use this in a little different way to make sure I put the lid on my crested gecko securely so I don’t have an accident and he escapes. I’ve Accidentally going to go get food and the lid was not secure this fixes it

I was a little leery because of my experience with the 1st generation multi sensor. It had horrible range & was a pain to connect. No such issues with this model. I've got it on my shed door & it hasn't lost the signal yet. The build quality is a bit better too. It does seem to drain the battery a bit, but I can live with that.

I use this on my garage door and the first version I had stopped working. The key is to have it vertical. I had it horizontal and it didn't work. Did some research and found out that mounting it vertical is the way to go. I had to build something to mount it that way, but has worked perfectly fine since.
