Samsung brings the party!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is so much fun and so versatile for the pro DJ and for the amateurs that just want throw smaller parties in their back yard and everyone in between! UPS delivered this speaker on a Friday night about 830pm. I had it out of the box and playing music in 5 minutes! It synced to my phone instantly with rock solid and fast bluetooth features that were on point! I cranked it up and my wife was in another part of our house but quickly gravitated to where the party had started and we found our selves dancing to some serious base and crisp mid-tones and highs. It also has a bass boost which really added a thump to some 90’s rap songs! It sounds amazing and very well built! 500 watts of floor shaking boom! Again, the sound is amazing! Great bass where you need it and clean balanced sound throughout. It also has some preset sound profiles for rap, dance house ect. The bi-directional speaker set up on the unit does a great job filling a room with incredible sound. With just the one unit, the bidirectional sound is still mono. That’s important to understand that the incredible sound coming from the right side and the left side of the single speaker are still only mono. Now if you want stereo you can add a second speaker and pair them together according to Samsung. I love that there is a single button on the back that says “add stereo” to make adding a speaker that much easier. You can actually connect up to ten of these bad boys via Bluetooth and slave them off the primary unit you have synced up with your phone or tablet or a laptop! Again there is a single button on the back that says “Group play” as well. They make it easy. I can’t wait to get another speaker and utilize that feature. I want the stereo capability. That’s what makes this so versatile. You can scale the speakers up and down. I plan to buy at least a second one and use this in a home gym! But it can easily be upscaled to four speakers for a wedding reception ect! Or 10 for a professional DJ. Really cool. If you entertain around the pool or lake this is splash proof as well!! Nice touch. Note: they are not wireless though and will need to have extension chords or an outlet fairly close. There was also another really cool surprise that I really wasn’t too excited about initially but turned out to be a ton of fun…KARAOKE!! I loved it back in college and would have a blast doing it back then with friends but have not karaoke since then. Well this has that feature as well. Step one buy a mic… check. I bought a very inexpensive mic to test with and thanks to this speaker it sounded great! I downloaded a free karaoke app for my phone. I synched my phone to the speaker. I plugged in my mic in the 1/4” jack and I was ready in a few minutes. I started with some classic 70’s songs and moved around the genres and the decades. I sang until my voice was sore! My wife and I had so much fun with that feature! On the back you adjust the volume of the mic and the amount of reverb. Now the reverb is your standard karaoke quality but enough to make a voice sound a lot better than it normally would! Next time we have friends over…karaoke for sure!!!! Update prior to posting this…We did have our friends over on the fourth and really had so much fun with the karaoke feature! This turned out to be such a plus for this unit and is really made our party so much more fun!!! Another feature I really liked was being able to put a playlist together on a usb drive and plug it in. This unit also comes with a remote control!! So you can put all your party songs in folders and move up and down in the folders i.e dance, slow dance, after party ect and control it all with the remote and not have to use your phone at all. The remote also has some onboard DJ settings “distortion” and “crunch” ect. I didn’t find them very useful and were fun to play with for a second and I will probably never use again. With the exception of a tempo shift feature. You can speed up a song and the vocal distortion is very minimal but the tempo is much faster. The speaker also has some very minimal lighting effects that you can change with the remote to flash faster or be ambient or off. I wish the lighting feature was more pronounced in the unit but if you really want some upgraded lights I’d say buy a lighting rig. This is really an impressive and versatile speaker that will bring the fun to any party for sure!!!!! I highly recommend!

Great sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this because my kids are always blaring music from our Echo and singing to it so figured this would also be good for them to be able to listen to music and even sing along with the karaoke feature. The size of this thing surprised me because I didn't expect it to be as big as it was so be aware of that and it is pretty heavy to lug around. It is portable but you won't want to be moving it a lot once you find a spot for it. It has multiple inputs and can be linked to other ones if you can afford to have more than one. Connecting to it was easy and then I installed the app as well. I was able to connect with my Samsung S20 Ultra and the iPHONE I have from work that is a few months old and both connected without issues. I did have trouble connecting a third device so I had to use the app to disconnect and release the phone from the speaker to connect my wife's phone to it so it does work with Android and iOS just can be a little finicky. The sound is pretty darn good and the bass when cranked up is enough to shake the walls of my house. I am looking forward to using this thing outside by the pool during parties. To take advantage of the karaoke I ordered a cheap $10 microphone from the river in south america and it plugged right in the back of the speaker. The input is a standard sized microphone jack also not the smaller 3.5 mm one I thought it would be. Kids have had a blast singing and hearing themselves through it. The app doesn't really seem user friendly at all so I have hardly messed with it. There are multiple features to mess with the sound and light effects but none of them in my time playing with it seem to enhance or make the speaker sound better. All in all it is a very loud speaker with clear highs and wall shaking bass. It is portable enough that you could take it just about anywhere and it is definitely able to entertain kids for a few hours with the karaoke feature but I would grab it on sale, it is probably about $100 overpriced.

Blown away by sound quality and features.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to give this speaker a shot as I've been looking for something decent to use outdoors, for gatherings as well as occasional outdoor theater use. The first thing I did was hook it up to my outdoor theater setup to test, and I was immediately impressed by the sound. The quality and expansiveness of the audio were immediately apparent. I could position the speaker pretty much anywhere near the screen and sounded full and fantastic. The second thing I did was hook it up to my phone to test the bluetooth capability of the speaker, which was about as simple as it can be. Using the remote, you can cycle through about ten equalizer profiles for different types of audio, and around 5 lighting modes, including one that responds to the music that you're playing, and you can also turn the RGB lighting off completely, if you like. It. Gets. Loud. I haven't been able to comfortably turn the volume up completely. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great, and if I was using it in an appropriate space for really high volume, it'd be fantastic. But I also had it running during a small, socially distanced gathering a few days ago at a low volume, and it was still perfectly clear. Today, I took it out to my SUV and plugged it into the power inverter I installed in the back, and it had no problems running. You could easily tailgate with this, take it to the beach or the park. Also, if you're so inclined, you can load up a flash drive with MP3s organized however you like, and the speaker plays them back admirably. You can use either the remote or Samsung's Giga Party app to select USB sources and navigate folders. The app is a little more robust than using the remote, as it will allow you to see folder and track names, but the remote is entirely servicable for switching folders and songs. In addition, Samsung's Giga Party Audio app allows you to control the audio settings and lighting profile. The existing effects aren't adjustable, but you can set the speaker lights to any solid color you like. It also functions as a full remote for the speaker, if you happen to misplace yours. While I have a hard time imagining a situation where you'd need to (unless you've just got a massive space to play in), the speaker boasts the ability to connect and sync wirelessly to others of it's kind. For my part, I placed it on my back patio, and turned up to a moderately high level it's quite audible around my backyard, including at any point around my 20x40' pool. With two or more of these things, you're looking at some seriously loud outdoor party sound. All in all, I'm very pleased with the features and quality of the speaker, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys spending time with friends and family outdoors. Not perfect but pretty good
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on sale and for the money it cannot be beat. It's not the best Bluetooth speaker, but it is pretty good. The sound quality is excellent. Bass is heavy and will shake the whole house no problem. The interface is simplicity itself. There are a few settings options, but nothing worth using. The DJ effects are dumb and pointless and the internal sound settings (rock, party, etc...) are made useless by the simple fact your phone likely has much better options. A few cons, it's heavy. Still portable, but cumbersome and difficult to move from room to room. Also, the specs say this is 500 watts, I'm a bit skeptical of that. While the sound quality is great and has some serious power, it doesn't seem like a full 500 watts. You're not going to violate any noise ordinances with this one, though that may actually be a plus. At full msrp ($499), I think I would look into something different, but I bought it on sale for $199, and at that price point it's an absolute steal.

S'alright...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounded so good in the store. Bought an open box, got it home and it was alright. First of, it was missing the charger, which best buy didn't include on its description... Best Buy's fault on that, not Samsung. Second, volume didn't go nearly high enough to justify the price, which gave it, that's the reason to buy a speaker this size... to irritate your neighbors! Overall a good speaker, but definitely better speakers out there for the price. Disappointed as i was super excited about it. Maybe next time Samsung...

Awesome!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok first off- yes… no internal battery. Big deal. I am 55 and am not talking it to a party some places. Let’s focus on sound. AWESOME. I am extremely picky when it comes to sound. Ease of use is well….. easy! U do have lights in each side. Very basic. It cool. If u love it loud, I was gonna to get two until I played this first one! It is sooooo frixksn loud. What I like is the shape. Speakers on both sides of the triable and lights. And this baby puts out. Looks good. Sounds good. Has some cool little lights. Again no battery but I don’t need kne. And it cost less. Very east to blue tooth

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking for a speaker to put on our patio & listen to music. This speaker is a nice size with great sound quality. It’s not too bulky & can be moved around fairly easy. We’ve had family over & they were very impressed with the quality of sound coming from this bi-directional speaker. We also got this speaker as an open box deal which made the price even better. If you are looking for quality sound to play your music via Bluetooth, then this speaker is it.

Easy to use. Big sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our family has been using this as a major upgrade to the tiny and expensive Bluetooth speakers one normally finds. Bose/Sony etc. Super easy to pair and get going but the main difference is the sound. Full throttle bi-directional sound with dynamic bass. It's simply awesome. Our son downloaded the Sound Tower app from iTunes where he customizes the lights and sound effects. It's pretty neat how each setting can be finely tuned. We are getting a mic soon and look forward to some cool Karaoke!

Great Speaker, partially confusing
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had no issues. Bass and sound is absolutely amazing. Have thought two and use the app to pair from across the room. Only reason for 4 stars is a little issue with ease of use. It took me a bit to get used to. The volume always has to be turned up on the speaker not your phone. Also haven’t figure out how to connect to my TV.
