Very sad to give this review. I loved the monitor, it's beautiful but the screen has horizontal lines that I can clearly see it. I researched online and several people had the same issue and Samsung could not solve it. It also had a kind of glitch as you can see in the photos. I have to return before expires my deadline.

After taking almost twice the time to be delivered, I get it allset up and theres 2 big, beautiful red and blue lines down the middle of the screen. Ran all the onboard tests to verify it was the screen itself and not a bad cable.

Let me start by saying that this is truly the best monitor I have used in the last 15 years. With the firmware upgrade to 1008.1 Samsung has resolved the flickering issue, 240Hz with G-Sync and 10-bit color. Everything works but..... you got to be lucky to get the right piece. The first unit I got had some minor flicker issue 2 inches to the left of the center. This is a common quality issue reported on the Samsung forum. The replacement unit I got works just fine. The only downside is that HDR looks washed out but the rest is great. There are advantages and disadvantages to buying this from Best Buy. The positive point is that you always have someone to talk to and get the issue resolved. The disadvantage, they don't match the price offered by Samsung. I was getting the same unit $200 cheaper from Samsung using employee discount. But then, I do prefer buying from a place which has people and a roof so that I have peace of mind. Wished they had matched the price otherwise 5 star to Best Buy as well.

I recently purchased a Samsung monitor, and I have to say it completely exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is stunning—crystal clear, vibrant colors, and smooth performance that makes everything from work to gaming feel amazing. The design is sleek and modern, which adds a really nice touch to my desk setup. What I enjoyed the most about this purchase is how it elevated my experience right away. Whether I’m watching movies, browsing, or working, the display feels immersive and professional. It was absolutely worth the investment, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. If you’re considering a new monitor, I highly recommend this one—you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Got an open box one, someone had returned it, it was literally the last one available before this went out of stock, as it has been now for weeks. To my surprise, it arrived in excellent condition -- so far so good. No dead pixels, minimal light bleed. The firmware update process was a pain in the butt, however -- the update file and software, which you have to find and download from Samsung's website, is only available in Korean! I had to find instructions on Reddit as to what buttons to press to initiate the update after opening the file, since, you know, I can't read Korean. And that's *after* finding out that you have to use an older gen USB stick for delivering the update file to the monitor; newer gen USB sticks don't work for some reason. Anyway, as to the monitor itself: it's lovely. Red Dead 2, Rocket League, the new Call of Duty, Star Wars Rogue Squadrons, Star Citizen, Forza Horizon 4, Beam.NG Drive, Sea of Thieves, Witcher 3, and Doom Eternal, among many other games, all look incredible on this thing. You'll need a really powerful rig to push this many pixels, however, so I wouldn't recommend unless you have a top end build. For those with that kinda of set up, and the will to figure out how to update the firmware, this is gaming monitor Valhalla.

Buy one. I did not think I would like a curved monitor, but this is the bet monitor I have ever used for gaming. I only use it for gaming and movies, not so good for surfing and reading. No problems so far. I waited for the sale price as they are very expensive. Note... I have only been using it for 2 months no issues so far.

Upgraded from 34 inch ultrawide 100hz. Worth it. Curve is dramatic. Takes some getting used to. Color is excellent, noticeably better than the CF791. Color is really good. Like really, really good. Monitor is heavy. Stand is robust. Must have newer graphics (at least a 5700 series or 2000 series) card to utilize 240hz. The G9 uses DSC to get more effective bandwidth out of DP 1.4 and only newer cards have DSC. Your 1080Ti can only do 120hz on this monitor. Just fyi. Monitor probably needs one more firmware update to be totally solid. I've had to fight settings and do a few resets. But it's pretty good right now with the latest firmware. Zero dead pixels. Monitor menus and controls are good (halfway, bottom right). I haven't heard any popping. Some guys were saying this thing chugs power and heats up the whole the room, but in game, I'm only pulling 520 watts from the wall for my whole system: 6700k, 2080TI, G9, receiver. So I don't know what they are talking about. Bought BB extended warranty. I don't exactly trust this thing over the long haul; it's not a slant six, it's more of high revving v12. Pretty bleeding edge monitor. Take your time setting it up. There's a guy out there that broke it unboxing it. It's heavy. It's awkward. Have a plan. Clear the area. Don't rush it.

The monitor was very buggy at start to the point where I had to return it somewhere early 2020. Some of the list of problems: -Flickering at 240hz. -sometime 240hz would not work with adaptive sync turned on and would auto revert back to 120hz. -When connecting multiple monitors G97 would not wake back after falling asleep. -HDR would only work for half the screen. Imagine a filmic overlay on only half one side of the screen. After I repurchase at the end of 2020, I can say the monitor had improved after updating the firmware. My latest update was Feb of 2021, version 1010.2. -240hz is working perfectly now as intended. I haven't notice flickering and was able to use adaptive sync/g-sync. Remaining issues is the falling asleep and the HDR half screen. Hopefully Samsung will continue to fix more bugs in future updates. In the meantime its usable now.

First - if you are having issues updating the firmware USE A SANDISC USB THUMB DRIVE. Hours of research I finally found that the monitor only likes certain USBs. Ok if you have issues such as firmware updates, the little leak on the monitor of the color, ya I heard of them. I didn't get the issues except the firmware which was fixed somewhat easily. As far as quality...OMG AMAZING!!! You will not get a new game because you will be playing all your old games. I have a GTX 1070 and even on that the graphics on Subnautica look real. I can run max settings at 120fps MINIMUM. YA the price tag is hefty, but why put price on love. I put 5 stars because the quality of the monitor out shined everything else. Worth every piece of drama.

I was a bit hesitant at first since it is pretty expensive but after a couple months use. I still say this was worth every penny. It looks stunning, games look amazing, you can multitask easily, it’s just overall such an amazing monitor to have. If you are being hesitant, just buy it. You won’t regret it.

I've used this monitor for almost a month now and my main impression is WOW! So far I've not encountered any issue that couldn't be solved with a little tweaking except for HDR. When HDR is selected text becomes almost unreadable, however movies or supported games look absolutely great. To me it is a minor inconvenience to switch between modes and I operate almost exclusively with HDR disabled. HDR fully functioning is a nicety for future firmware fixes. If you're going to use cabling other than what comes with it I would recommend a top notch at minimum 4K cable or 8K if you want to push ultra settings @240hz. The display allows for almost total immersion. Field of vision for flight sims is super. Having up to 3 pages open across saves writing and research time. If you have the space then this should make your short list.

I found the best price was at Best Buy and they offer a Price Match Guarantee so they would have matched other qualified lower prices. The monitor is great. I use it mostly for work now and it allows me to open multiple Excel files as well as other docs. Much easier than one monitor or even multiple monitors. I've only tried it for gaming a few times with Diablo 3 and wow, that experience is great. Very immersive. Only problem, but not really an issue, is that you have such a wide view that you might miss something on your peripheral unless your back far enough from the screen. Otherwise, a fantastic monitor with no issues like other reviewers who bought this monitor have had.

It’s ridiculously big, I’ll never use it for gaming or it’s designed purpose… and I don’t care. It’s awesome , I work from home and had 2 separate 24in monitors before. Did they do their job? Yea. Doesn’t this do the same thing except it’s one screen and curved ? Yea. Don’t care. Love this thing , it’s awesome to look at, it’s awesome to work on for the real estate. If you don’t mind the money and catch it on sale for $1000 , get it . I don’t spurge on many things , but this I don’t regret whatsoever

Sweeet mother of monitors..... I mean... youre just submerged in beautiful screen. Its like it wraps around and hugs you as you play. I literally dont miss a thing when playing video games or watching videos. And the 240 FPS.... puts you on a whole different lvl. Has an intelligent way to organize the cords and hide the ones plugged into it. Easy use and adjustment of settings. Super heavy no doubt, definitely need a strong braket if mounting it to a wall. Beautiful white backing. Im impressed and in my mind, was worth every penny i spent when on sale.

Sadly, I purchased this monitor a few month before the Odyssey Neo line was introduced by Samsung. However, that turned out to be to my benefit as the new monitor is almost twice the price! This was the best (refreshed) version of the monitor pre-Neo and I feel I got it for a bargain considering the price of a replacement now. The build quality is exceptional. The monitor limits how much I have to rotate my head in order to see the entire screen from left to right. It is easy to setup, the on screen menu is good enough. Unfortunately, there are no built in speakers. However, the unit goes up to 240 Hz HDR at nearly 4K resolution. It may be expensive but it darn near perfect in my book.

Please read a setup guide for this monitor, it will help you greatly. Main reason is due to the way this monitor is backlit if it's setup wrong it will look horrible. Also this does not play well with HDR settings in windows. This is a gaming monitor and it is awesome. Immersive, very color accurate, super smooth viewing. Being sat in the middle of this monitor is a good place to be. Just make sure you have a new GPU, you're going to need it, though if you're looking at something like this you probably already have it.

The only flaw in this monitor is text is not very clear, even after applying Windows clear type. But i bought this for gaming and it does that very well. The 1000R curve and 49" width create awesome game immersion. The brightness and clarity of video and images at 240Hz and the Cinema mode is amazing. I still need to tweak the HDR as that mode looks muddy, so I'm using SDR for now.
