1 monitor vs 2

Used for both working and gaming. It is a bit overkill for working but I got tired of looking at 2 monitors and still having to swap out tabs. Now I have 1 great monitor and 3 windows open running all my programs.
I was worried that the edges of the monitor would be dark and not visible, but that doesn't happen at all. At first it seems like too much screen, but after a week I can't see myself using the 27inch monitor anymore.
I have mine mounted on the wall because this thing takes up a lot of space. A standard desk is not enough for this monitor to sit on. The legs will come out to the middle of the desk and pretty much take over the keyboard spot.

This monitor is awesome, I debated for months about buying it. Finally did, I had 2 32in monitors, going back and forth between them was tiring, but with this one one screen to look at, just have to get use to looking from side to side. response time, clarity, colors extremely nice. well worth the price, especially since it went on sale for Black Friday.

Display: With a Dual Quad HD resolution (5120 x 1440) and 49-inch screen size, the CRG9 promises a detailed and immersive visual experience. The size and resolution of this monitor are equivalent to two 27-inch QHD monitors side by side, providing an expansive field of view.
Curved Design: The 1800R curvature of the screen should provide a more immersive viewing experience, especially for gaming, and can help reduce eye strain during extended use.
FreeSync and G-Sync: The monitor supports both AMD's FreeSync and NVIDIA's G-Sync technologies, which helps to reduce screen tearing and stuttering in games, providing smoother gameplay.
Refresh Rate and Response Time: A 120Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time are excellent for gaming, ensuring smooth motion with minimal input lag.
HDR Support: With HDR1000 support, the monitor can deliver high dynamic range content with more vibrant colors and deeper blacks.
Price: Priced at $899.99, this monitor is positioned in the higher end of the market. The price reflects its high-end features and performance, which is targeted towards serious gamers and professionals who require a large, high-resolution display.
In conclusion, the Samsung CRG9 Series Odyssey 49" LED Curved Dual QHD FreeSync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor appears to be a strong option for its target market, offering high-resolution, immersive visuals, and strong gaming performance. However, its size and price might not be suitable for everyone. Potential buyers should consider their space constraints, usage requirements, and budget before making a purchase.

My wife and I love this monitor! As an opener, we are NOT gamers. We are both in our 40's and have reached points in our careers where we can often work solely from home. I initially bought one for my office to replace a dual monitor setup. I was extremely skeptical about replacing them with a single monitor, and more to the point, a curved screen. What sold me on this choice was when the salesman showed me all of the options for splitting a screen and being able to run two different computers at one time. After about a week of getting a good grip on the functions, I showed my wife how I was able to have my Outlook email, a research website, zoom, a word document, and a spreadsheet all on display at once. That afternoon we returned to Best Buy to buy one for her office. She too absolutely loves the ability to have multiple data resources on display at one time, and not having to scramble to open/minimize windows during video calls.

I honestly avoided this purchase as long as possible as I really thought these monitors were a total gimmick then they first hit the market several years ago. as they have continued to improve in resolution and refresh rate, the gimmick interpretation quickly vanished to show the true potential possible for gaming and productivity.

This monitor has been a great boon for work. It took a while to get used to, but once I got all my window layouts set up it's much better than two monitors side-by-side which I was using previously. The display colors are good, I can see the horizontal pixel lines occasionally on solid colors, but you get used to it pretty quick and can ignore it. But that's something I notice on pretty much everything but OLED screens, so maybe it's just my eyes being wonky.
I dread the day I have to move this thing, but that's not really the monitor's fault. You will probably break a sweat unpacking it, which is oddly satisfying.

Despite its weight, this monitor is well constructed. I find it very useful for connecting two PCs, whether by splitting the screen or utilizing the entire screen for each PC. Additionally, I can even connect my phone's Samsung Dex to the screen. Apart from its multitasking capabilities, I am also pleased that this monitor supports HDR10 and Freesync. Initially, there were crackling sounds coming from the monitor, but Samsung confirmed it is normal for curved displays and now there are no more sounds. Despite its large size, this monitor actually saves desk space and has a sleek design. Since it is VESA compatible, I took it a step further and purchased a monitor arm specifically designed for this monitor. Combining these two has truly revolutionized my experience!

I recently purchased a Samsung display, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance and quality. The color accuracy and sharpness are outstanding, providing an immersive viewing experience whether I'm working, gaming, or watching movies. The sleek design and sturdy build add a modern touch to my workspace, while the wide viewing angles ensure a perfect picture from any position. Additionally, the easy setup and intuitive controls made it a breeze to adjust settings to my liking. Samsung has truly outdone themselves with this display, offering a reliable and high-quality product that I would highly recommend to anyone in search of an exceptional monitor

This was my first ultra wide monitor. I enjoy it.
Naturally, it's heavy and has a huge footprint over the desk, so be prepared for that. My desk has a peg board that, personally, I thought was kind of flimsy, but it still manages to hold this thing (wobbles a little when I type).

I recently purchased a Odyssey CRG9 49 QHD monitor for gaming, and I'm absolutely loving it. The colors are vibrant and the response time is lightning fast which makes for a great gaming experience. The 120Hz refresh rate makes motion appear incredibly smooth, and the 4ms response time ensures that I can react quickly and accurately to whatever is happening on screen. The monitor also has multiple picture modes that let me optimize my settings for different types of games, and I appreciate that the monitor has both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs so I can easily connect multiple devices to it.
Overall, I'm very happy with this monitor and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great gaming experience.

I do accounting and tax preparation. I have always used two larger monitors. When the salesman told me about this new 49 inch curve, I couldn't resist. I can now have three full screens open at once. Love it! You do need to have a large desk area, which I do. But you could mount on wall.

This is an amazing monitor! Not only does it give you an awesome view when playing all sorts of games, it gives you a ton of real estate for a variety of work projects or whatever it is that you need to have multiple windows open for. If need to be in Zoom while having other windows open for info or taking notes, this monitor makes that a breeze. The color and clarity are what you would expect from Samsung. The refresh rate is fantaastic and I've yet to see any lag, frame dropping, etc. Just be sure you have the room in your work area for this monitor because it is probably wider than you expect once you get it set up.
At the time that I bought my monitor, Best Buy had the lowest price often by hundreds of dollars.

Great screen but you need to make sure you have a good enough graphic's card. Had some issues with one of my laptops and had to use a different laptop in order to use the monitor. It is great now that I got it to work. I only wish that Windows could snap 3 windows on the screen vs just 2.

I love this monitor. It is huge and I can have multiple windows open and all in view at a time. It takes a special video cable, and when I got a new laptop, it took yet another upgraded cable to make it work.

The monitor is amazing, I don't use it for gaming, I use it for business. To replicate a 3 monitor setup, I wanted to avoid having 3 power cords, 3 HDMI cords, a separate docking station for the laptop (with its own power cord), etc. This monitor handles all of that and just needing to plug a single HDMI in from the laptop is so much easier and cleaner on your desk.
The only reason for 4 stars is the instructions and help with screen configuration. The setup instructions are pretty crappy, kinda like Ikea. Just some pictures and not even any text. You might think - it's just a monitor, what is there to set up? The biggest kicker is being able to control the screen in multiple frames. When I first plugged in my laptop (and had to figure out how to change the laptop resolution to fit the whole screen, which wasn't super recognizable to someone who is not used to messing with settings), I didn't know how to handle three separate windows. So I had to manually resize them and try to get each one to be exactly 1/3 of the screen, and it was a huge pain. The advantage of having two or three monitors is the ability to double click the top bar and instantly maximize the window to fit the screen. It might seem like a small detail, but not having that and having to constantly move each window around to try and fit it on the screen is a huge pain. I would have returned this monitor just for that reason. BUT - Samsung has a little software you can download called Easy Setting Box. I found it in a help article on their website. You download it, and it's a whole layout and configuration platform that eliminates all the issues I had. You can customize the screen into multiple different layouts and frames of your choosing. It's really awesome. But NOWHERE online was this software mentioned. Best Buy needs to mention this software in the product description or features because it's a huge selling point. It's not mentioned anywhere on the site or any of the product details. This little add-on being hard to find and not being easily known about to customers is the only reason for 4 stars. If this software didn't exist, there is no way I would keep this monitor.
