    One Smart Vacuum

I have had experience with earlier versions of robot vacuums, before smart technology was added. It is astonishing how much this device can pick up. I used our regular vacuum to clean our hardwood and tile floors before I turned it loose, and I thought I did a good job. I was wrong. On its lowest setting it filled up its debris receptacle before it ran out of battery charge. While it was recharging, I emptied it. Once recharged, it went back to where it left off, and filled itself again! We have two dogs, and it was cleaning up dog hair from under the furniture and all the hard to reach spots that normally don’t get attention from the regular vacuum, as well as getting all the dirt and hair that normally gathers along the baseboards. When it encounters an edge, it automatically goes into “Edge mode” where a squeegee type blade lowers and pulls debris away from the edge of the floor and into the vacuum. As far as the sensors on it, it does a great job at not smacking into and navigating around furniture. It also has a “cliff sensor” that keeps it from falling off ledges and steps. The PowerBot does a pretty good job transitioning to and from different surfaces. Rugs can be a particular challenge for it, as it can curl up the edge of lighter, thinner rugs and stop it from moving up onto them. It does continually try to adjust, and is successful for the majority of the time. It does have an impressive amount of clearance when trying to climb up onto rugs, as it has a sort of suspension that will raise the body as it tries to climb over a transition. The app that is used to control it is the SmartThings app. It is somewhat of a catch all app for all of Samsung’s smart devices, so it offers a bit of convenience if you have other smart devices. The History feature is nice, because you can see not only when and how long the vacuum ran, but they also include a map to show where it ran. So, you’re able to see where it may have problems getting around. Definitely a nice touch. The scheduling feature is nice, but limited. It allows for you to schedule a one-time use, or if you’d like it to run every day at a certain time. It would be a welcome addition if you could pick the days you’d like it to run, and maybe offer multiple schedules. While it’s not perfect, and there are some improvements that would be nice additions, it is an impressive device that can clean floors on a daily basis and remove some of the workload from weekly chores. Very impressed!

Dependable and efficient in cleaning. It cleans hard surfaces very well. Not so good on bath mats and small rugs, as they bunch up under the machine. Dark and tight places are issue, sometimes it get confused and goes around in circles. Good battery life and decent capacity in dust bin. We paid $350 on sale which is a very good value, at full price of $699, it probably not the best value. I think, it does have the best suction when compared to Roomba and sharp at similar price point,

    Very helpful little bot

This is a nice little helpful bot. I hate hate vacuuming and I like controlling things from my phone, so I can't help but feel that Samsung made this specifically for me. I enjoy being able to sit on my butt watching tv and using my phone to tell the PowerBot when to start cleaning or even control it directly without having to get up. It's the ultimate friend for people who are too busy or too lazy to vacuum the floors themselves. :D All you have to do is link the PowerBot to your Samsung connect app and away you go with remote capabilities. The suction power on this bot is pretty good. I would have to say that it does just a good of a job as my Kirby. 90% of my floors is hardwood so I haven't had a chance to really test it out on my carpet yet. I'm currently remodeling and all my furniture is packed in the last of the rooms that still has carpets. Once I'm done I'll be able to do a fully house test run though. What I've seen of it so far though, I have no worries about how well it will handle my carpets, it cleans my rugs well, so carpets should be a breeze for it. The Edge clean function is nice, thanks to that i don't have to worry about having to sweep dust away from the edges of the wall before using the PowerBot as it can handle that on its own. I really enjoy having this lil bot around, I never realized just how useful they are until I tried one for myself. Considering it's both automatic and manual control, it's much easier to setup and use than I had expected. Absolutely no regrets with purchasing it and loving it every time I use it.

Make sure you vacuum safe your home

I am reviewing this product as an Insider. Just setup my new Samsung Powerbot R7070 a of couple days ago. I purchased it at a discounted price through a online promotion called the insiders. part of the promotion is that I need to review it. So, here’s my review so far. The instructions were a little confusing, but I finally got it sorted out. I have multiple Wi-Fi access points throughout my house with the same SSID. The Powerbot had no problem transitioning from one access point to another. I tested it for about 20 minutes, it definitely does not like rugs with fringes. It got jammed a number of times until I figured out that I had to flip the fringes underneath the rug and it handled it impeccably. It seems my little puppy looks at the vacuum as a home invader. Doesn’t like it too much. I took him out for a ride to give the vacuum a chance to get to know my house. I came back just as it was displaying “END” and died. It appeared that it was on its way back to the charging station, didn’t even get close though. I will run it more, and see if it learns to navigate back better. Update: well, Merlin definitely does not like it. I have tried numerous times but he just stands and barks at it like it is a major intruder. He gets very upset. My solution of course is very simple, it only runs when he’s not home. On it’s last cleaning job, it made it into my walk in closet, ran out of power. It was supposed to return to the base when the power drops, this is the second time it has failed to return to base and has stopped with no power. This is not acceptable. On the plus side, it definitely picked up a lot of dirt. The dust container was packed. I have now run it three times to battery exhaustion, twice it failed to return to base for recharge.

    Pets & Brick

I ended up picking up the POWERbot R7070 Pet Robot and I'm in love with this little thing so far. Once I unboxed it, pretty simple I setup the Samsung Smarthings app, charged the POWERbot, and connected it to Wi-Fi. It was fairly easy. Picks up the hair quickly with no effort from me. When I first used it, I thought it wasn't picking anything up, then I looked at the canister and its picking everything up. Easy pet hair removal. Like I said in my title, I have a 9 month old Boxer/Labrador puppy. All the little hairs where on the floor and I had no idea it was so much until the vacuum finished. The tiny hairs was in round bundles. I had no idea i left all that there. We also have brick flooring in the kitchen and it just went right over that from tile flooring to brick without hesitation. That was cleaned and I had no idea if it could, since it is a very uneven surface with the different grooves in the brick but the POWERbot did its job! We was looking for a robot vacuum in the middle of deep cleaning and this has far exceeded my expectations. The Samsung POWERbot R7070 Pet Robot Vacuum was a great choice! I reviewed the product as part of the Insiders program

I had a Roomba 650 and wanted to upgrade. I am glad that I chose Samsung. I think its suction power is more than that of the Roomba and the way is navigates is like an actual person would as opposed to to haphazard, zigzag way that Roomba does. The cons - The price is a little on the higher side and it could have been a little thinner so that it could go under some of the low clearance furniture.

    Great Features...Still Room to Grow

First I was lucky enough to get to try this product through the insiders network...Samsung has done a lot of great things for this R7070 robot vacuum, but they still have a lot to improve for a 5 star all around great vacuum. Pros -great at moving around without bumping into things -clean able filter -size of dirt bin -edge cleaning Cons -battery life -map of cleaned area -carper cleaning power -edge cleaning Okay, so first you see that I have the edge cleaner in both pro and cons...this is because it is great, but you can't turn it off or on or control it at all...so that would have it try to clean some edges but not all and not giving the result I want...the battery life isn't great, and I blame the edge cleaning for it, if you can have it turn on and off then I think it would change how well it was able to clean. The suction power seemed to be great but it didn't do well on carpets with items in the carpet. If it was up on top or loose in the carpet no problem...but not a lot of hair or a mess. Overall a good robot vacuum, great for people with pets and hard floors. The quite mode is quite quiet and I think is a great option for that daily maintenance vacuuming.

We used to have an IRobot. It worked pretty well on hard floors but not carpets. However, the side brushes started to leave a noticeable mark on the baseboard. It wasn’t worth having to repaint them just to use the IRobot and have it leave marks again. It wasn’t cheap paint. The POWERbot works fantastic on hard floors and the suction and double rollers picks up pet hair on the carpet great. It’s worth the money.

The Samsung POWERbot R7070 Robotic Vacuum is latest tech device at my house and everyone comments that it is awesome. My ten-year-old boy likes to use the manual control option to drive it around the house. He also helped me set it up with no issue. One of his chores was to sweep the floor, now he will enjoy doing it with the POWERbot. It does a great job at with corners and edges. The canister comes out very easily for cleaning and it is washable. It is not noisy and works great when programmed with the Samsung app. It works well in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. It has an excellent sensor because it has not knocked down anything or gotten stuck. It goes under the chairs and tables without any issues. It is fun to watch it go through the room like if it is going through obstacles. I recommend this device to all my family and friends who would like to arrive at a clean home. All my kids enjoy the device so much that they even gave her a name, GABY. It's like have a pet. My wife is very happy with this product, especially that it actually cleans underneath the couch and beds. Happy wife, happy life!

This little guy is pretty impressive. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this robot worked. After the initial charge, I let it loose on the floor. I watched as it went around walls, furniture and other obstacles. Our floor plan is a little odd, in that it sort of makes a circle. I was surprised that the robot was able to figure out that it needed to completely circle the area. This included going around the table in our formal dining room, our breakfast nook and barstools. It even cranked up the power when going over rugs. Very cool. It was also able to go up and over the slight hump between our hardwood floors and the tile in our laundry room. It was able to go under everything, probably even better than we could with our upright vacuum. It vacuumed for a solid hour, maybe more. It didn't quite finish, but went back to the charger, got some power and then continued where it left off. Again, very impressive. I was unable to connect to the app, I'm not sure if it had to do with the phone I have or not (Google Pixel), so I was unable to test that part. It said this model wasn't available in the app yet. I set the robot on a schedule to go every day at 12. Very happy with it. Pros: Scheduling, great traversal, smart features, easy to clean Cons: Couldn't connect to app (I'm sure this will be fixed), I wish it could go a bit longer on battery, but pretty much a non-issue, since it will pick up where it left off.

I have been using this vacuum for about two weeks now and I am very happy with the purchase. There are somethings that I would like better, but for what it works. Pros: * Easy connection to Samsung Hub * Easy to clean the filter and empty the container * Does not make much noise in Quiet Mode * Returns to hub to recharge * Navigates between rooms Cons: * Have not been able to see it successfully pick up where it left off. This could be an issue for a large or multiple room home. * Battery life could be longer, but in general is fine

Works well on carpet and vinyl no trouble crossing over each type of floor. My bulldog that normally attacks my Kirby, completely ignores this one. I love that it can find its home to recharge. I also noticed that the crowded chair legs under my table are too hard for it to figure out. I usually will put my chairs up for the vacuum to be able to make its way around the room. Depending on suction levels is the varying battery life. More suction > Shorter battery life. Less suction > Longer battery life.

We bought this to merely assist in cleaning some dusts in between the weekly cleaning that we do. It does have a powerful suction. I was doubtful of that. I tried it anyway since I could return it if it was insufficient. It does do a good job avoiding obstacles. It adjusts from tile to carpet by turning up the suction. You can tell by the increased noise when it goes to the carpet. It does the same thing when it gets to an edge like a wall. It seems to go to the max suction to get the dirt/dust at the corner. It also comes with a remote control. The downside is the navigation of it. It seems to get lost in the house. It's not a turn-it-on-when-you-leave-the-house-and-it-would-have-done-the-expected-job type of machine. We tried leaving it once and we found it dead in our living room. It also does not have enough battery to do the whole house (just over 2000 sq ft). It takes a little over an hour to charge then it continues. There is an app but it would require that you create a Samsung account and that the vacuum cleaner use the internet. I'm not fond of that potential privacy issue so I don't use the app. That might solve the navigation issue though but I can't confirm that. The dust bin is also a bit small. Fortunately, the filter is user washable so it does save on maintenance. It also came with a second filter. So when we wash one and use the second one while waiting for the first to dry. Bottom line is that this does have good vacuum but needs to be helped in navigating the whole house sometimes when not connected to the internet.

I was very impressed with the vacuum. At first I thought it would be a supplemental vacuum to my current one, but it was so easy to use and had such good suction that I was able to throw my old vacuum away. This was made for pet owners and it definitely does not disappoint regarding the amount of debris and pet fur picked up. I was ,however, disappointed that I could not get it to work properly with Alexa. It connects but then it only turns on and there is no way to get it to clean. The problem is mentioned in the Amazon reviews. I emailed for support but they just email me FAQs on their page.

    Powerful Deep Cleaning RoboVac

The Samsung POWERBot R7070 has incredibly powerful suction. It has 40 times the suction power of a standard Robo vac. It has a lot of cool features such as visual mapping, edge clean technology, a compatible app, three different sections settings and a self talking feature. As a cat owner, I’m always looking for the best vacuum to pick up all the fur and dander. This POWERbot did not disappoint! I’m amazed by the amount of dirt it picks up each time that I run it. I love the fact that I can start it manually by pressing a button, start it from my remote control, started from my app or schedule a daily cleaning. I also love the fact that it is super easy to empty into clean the brush head. This is a very low maintenance vacuum if you clean it regularly after every use. I personally preferred to use it on the Max Suction setting because it leaves ‘’clean lines’’ on the carpet. I also love the way that if it doesn’t finish cleaning the house, docs on its own, re-charges and then goes right back out to clean and finishes where it left off after it is fully recharged. I have personally never had any technical issues with it. It is a very reliable vacuum and gets the job done! I would definitely recommend it to friends and purchase Robo vacuums made by Samsung in the future.

We are happy with the Samsung 7070. We decided not to use the app and operate it with the remote. It does well with edges and always returns home to charge. The two washable filters are a big plus and it is easy to empty. Our one problem is the fringe on our dining room rug. We tried blocking it with the magnetic strips, but that didn't work so we resort to placing dining room chairs over the fringe. It would be nice to have a better solution.

I really don't like running a vacuum cleaner, and after reading several reviews of the Powerbot 7070 robot bought one. I have a 2600-sq. ft. house and found right away that I couldn't just turn it on and walk away, which would probably be fine in a studio apartment. I close off a room, turn on the bot, and let it run 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the room. The battery lasts long enough on one charge to clean two big carpeted rooms or three smaller ones. The bot generally works in a grid, like plowing a field, but has a manual override on the remote control that allows turning it right or left and then moving straight to get an area it missed on autopilot by holding down the "Forward" arrow. The manual doesn't say this, and I had to contact Samsung's tech chat line to learn it. Cleaning the accumulated dirt out of the collection chamber is easy, and it comes with a second washable filter so you can resume cleaning after washing the one taken out of the collector. Now that I have run it over the whole house a few times, I can clean all the floors without having to empty the collector. Bottom line: it does a good job, and my floors are now consistently cleaner than they have been in years.

POWERbot R7070 - One smart little bot

    Posted .

I'm an IT professional and making this review as part of The Insiders program. That being said I usually have more realistic idea of what to expect from a new tech device's capabilities. Honestly, with the POWERbot R7070, I've been rather impressed. It has a powerful suction motor and drive wheels. The R7070's pathfinding capabilities are far more intelligent than I ever expected from a robotic vacuum at this price point. I have a 1400sq/ft home with a slightly open floor plan and I use the R7070 mainly for the living room, dining room, kitchen and halls. In those areas the layout is not simple with angled cabinets, moving objects etc.. I purchased the R7070 knowing my use case would challenge any robotic vacuum. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the pathfinding capabilities are that Samsung has incorporated into the R7070. The setup was very simple to connect it to my home WiFi and link it to the Samsung Hub app on my Android phone. My favorite feature has to be the history function in the Hub app which actually provides an after the fact path mapping of where the robot went during its cleaning cycle. This helps show just how intelligent the active path finding is and can also show the few times that it isn't. It has shown me times when I forgot to close a bathroom door in one of my hallways. It went in swept the bathroom as part of its full circuit and still had no problem making it back to base to charge. Charging back to full takes a few hours but With the R7070 you get a more powerful suction motor and larger battery. This allows the R7070 to do a double pass on regular suction setting in my house on a single charge. I run the R7070 a couple times a week while I'm at work and honestly my floors have never been cleaner and I'm very happy with the purchase. Now for the bad, which in all honesty are minor in my mind. Occasionally pathfinding has completely missed a hallway which it has no trouble finding other times. The R7070 is also anything but quiet. That is to be expected with the how powerful suction motor actually is. I would not recommended running it at night near bedrooms unless you are a heavy sleeper. Retention tabs for the replaceable roller are just plastic thumb slides on the underside which can get caught on hard objects like metal Central Air vents unlocking them. I've actually found the robot has managed to unlock the tabs and lose its roller during cleaning. It doesn't have a sensor to register the missing roller which is unfortunate. Over all GREAT PURCHASE!
