Was great until it wasn't

This player start out working great. Video quality, ease of use, setup, pretty much had little to complain about ( menus a tad slow for my taste ). Played all BD disks up until 2 weeks ago. Since then the player has been steady getting worse about loading disks, like it thinks that the tray isn't closed all of the way. 2 days ago, it won't open/close the tray at all. I can still get to the menus, but nothing will play nor update firmware, nor can I even reset it back to default factory settings as the software requires that the tray be close and it detects no disks. Now it's a brick. No solutions I've read on any forums have yielded any results and I'm definately not the only one stuck in this situation. This has the odor of the XBox 360 RROD issue I had twice. Since the cost of repair is more than this player is worth now and repaired units have had this issue crop up again, I'll have to buy another player.

A nice blu ray player for the bucks

I don't have many complaints about this, I bought it for $33 from Best Buy outlet refurbished. With a price like that , fantastic. I bought this for my bedroom. I have the Samsung P3600 Blu Ray in my Family room and it does a little more but it costs more. Only 2 things missing, I wish is the USB would read more formats and the wifi adaptor (which is pricey at $100 new) is not included with this model. It's great though, I found the wifi adaptor on Ebay, which comes from Best Buy outlet store for under $40. I do a lot of Netflix streaming and that it does and very well. I found it quite simple to use and set up. Samsung quality all the way.
The only reason that I would not recommend this to a friend is because the Wifi adaptor is not included. Buy a samsung model with the wifi adaptor included unless you can piece it together like I did for $70.

I bought this refurbished blu ray player and it performed great. Excellent picture and connects easily to Pandora, Youtube and Blockbuster. The only problem is that is sometimes does not display the disc information properly, instead it may display "open" or "menu". However, it is still a good deal.

Was disappointed when I opened the package to find that there where many fine scratches along the front panel. It looked as if it were used for quite a while before it was returned to Samsung to be refurbished. It almost seemed as if I bought it at a yard sale rather than BestBuy.com. The many times I have purchased refurbished products, I've never received anything that appeared like this DVD player.
Performance wise, the DVD player works great, but it is a bit noisy when it powers on. I didn't know whether this was normal or not. Despite spending $90 for it, it's too much of a pain to return, so I'll be keeping it.

Piece of junk!!!

Seven days after the warranty expired this piece of junk just quit working all together, it would not even power on! Several times it had issues playing new DVD's. One incident while trying to watch the HBO series John Adams on blu-ray it would not play any of the sound on entire disc. I had to shut down the machine and start over to get it to work. Just before it died it started to make a funny noise while playing a standard DVD and started to skip on the scenes, I tried to fast forward or reverse but it finally decided to skip the entire chapter on its own. Take my advice and spend the extra $20 and buy a new Sony and not this piece of refurbished Samsung trash!!!!!

Don't trust product description

Product description says internet capable, it doesn't say that you have to buy a Samsung brand wireless internet adapter that costs $80. The unit only cost $99, so you have to spend 90% of the price of the unit to get the internet capabilities.

Samsung has been a good brand for years. This player works great and I like that it can connect to the internet applications like NetFlix.
