Little quirky worked well at first then had to change some settings

Looks small but works great for what I use it for!! If I could use one or two more I would buy this one!

We purchased this camera for our backyard to watch our dogs (one was a digger) and for general safety as well. Overall it is working well but have to say that we did purchase this item because the box said it had a mic but once we got it set up, we realized that feature wasn't working. We contacted Samsung and they said they intended for that feature to be included but it ended up not working out. If you want a mic you can use outdoors, this is not the camera for you.

Very please with product, would recommend Samsung to friends and family.

my first camera for the house it was great a must buy

This was a great camera. Finaly stopped working this year. Would love another like it. The new one I have is horrible and lags.

This unit requires download from app store which doesn't recognize request and returns "no results". I expected the item was plug and play. I believe there is a snoop component in the on line down load. IT WILL MOST LIKELY GO TO MY ELECTRONICS JUNK BARREL.

I have been doing a few Home Automation lately to my place. Heat/AC wifi, Sprinklers wifi, DVR (full access) wifi, Lights wifi, Front door bell camera W/ 2-way audio wifi. and now "The Samsung outdoor camera" and I also bought their indoor version. You must take everything into consideration when trying to evaluate weather it will fit for your needs. One of the strong points for me was that they have separated the camera from the electronics, this makes the durability better, an easier installation, and a bit more discrete than others. When you combine that with 1080p, descent night vision, wide angle lens so you can see everything, audio, custom motion zone/Alerts, and last, a very good App. Well that covers all my deal breakers. Choosing their indoor camera, allows me to bounce between the inside and outside. So, I give it a solid "A" However, there is always room for improvements :)

i could not get it to connect to my router and even let a friend try it at his house. no luck

The key to getting this to work quickly on your home computers is to initially attach the base to your router with the supplied RJ-45 cable. Follow the directions at www.samsungsmartcam.com. The installation procedure immediately allows you to then go wireless. Then, you can continue the signup/installation and you are good to go. The unit can be unplugged and moved wherever you want. Once it boots when plugged back in (the red LED will blink), press the Wi-Fi button that is next to the LED and it will find your network automatically. I like this camera since it gets pretty hot here in the summer, I can put the base inside where its cool and the camera outside. The camera is rated to 107 degrees F. (The base only to 92 degrees F) I have this working well on my desktop, laptop, and Galaxy Tab 10.1. The 20 frames per second at 1080p is adequate but not as nice as 30fps would be.

I can watch over my home on my smartphone, even while not at home

Great camera, super easy to install. MAC computer compatibility gone after a month with no eta from Samsung when it will be fixed. Sound requires purchasing microphone and speaker separately not offered from Samsung, and limited to find compatible hardware for a 25' run. Day/Night vision very good, this was my first, and last Samsung product. OK stuff for PC people.

Never connects, app crashes all of the time. No customer service/technical support. Spent 2 hours waiting for help and when the call was connected the rep hang up the phone and never called back. Added one star because I couldn't add negative stars. Never purchase this camera.

If you're starting from 0 and want to install a security camera system, I would not recommend this unless you look into the whole smartcam line of products. I already owned two SNH-1011N smartcams (which I received as gifts) and had them scattered throughout the house. When I started looking into external cameras, it was only logical that I get the outdoor camera. I could have bought a classic 4 camera DVR system, but I knew I'd be much happier having a single app/location to view my camera feeds. You need to do some research before deciding if this is right for you, for a number of reasons: -The camera cable is permanently attached to the camera, and limited to 30 feet in length. I looked into getting an extension cable but I couldn't find anything that works. I read in an Amazon review that the Revo cables do not work. -The wifi signal is spotty. Granted, I had the camera base unit in my attic crawl space and the router down on the first floor. The app said the wifi signal was full strength. -The motion detection goes crazy sometimes: when it's a windy day and the sensitivity is at its lowest setting, it keeps recording. (I have it set to record on motion detection only) I really like the video feed (though it's 1080p, I wouldn't say it's exactly HDTV quality), and adding the cameras to my existing ones were a BREEZE. And another FYI, I am NOT using wireless. Both my cameras are being used to monitor the outside of my house with the base units in the attic crawl space... so I used a newer 2015 powerline adapter to get ethernet to the attic. I couldn't find a work around to the limited 30ft camera cable, so the best I can do is buy cheap electrical extension cable to get power. As with everything else (Roku, XBox, smart TVs, etc), I hardwire however possible.

I brought this camera and it installed quickly. Pictures are great, installed on MAC OS (Macbook) and Windows 8.1 (Laptop, Tablet and Desktop) OS for tablets, and Iphone. As previous reviewer indicated, pain to setup on windows, you have to go through internet explorer for it to work. Once you download the plug in, it will ask if can override an internet explorer feature. Once that happens, all good.

Just a note here, It is a great camera system and does its job well so don't get me wrong. It is just advertised from the Manufacture as a 1080p when really it is not. While it does support 1080p @ 30fps viewing while on a good network connection. The actual recording Max is 720p @ 30fps.. AVI format
