My new place had very oddly setup light switch placement. So I added smartthings to my expanding philips hue network to give automatic trigger functionality of lights and appliances. Now when my front door opens the living room lights turn on, when I leave, single touch on my GearS and everything turns off, and arms. Very flexible system that I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do. Only complaint is that it only included a single outlet controller.

I love this camera alarm system, it shows us on our mobile devices just what has happened if the alarm goes off and we can turn it off on the phone too, it's very useful.

It's hard to beat any Samsung product. This was so easy to set up. Adding to it is super easy. It's nice to know when doors and windows are open or closed with kids.

Smartthings has been great with a few notable exceptions. 1 of my multipurpose sensors from the set never worked right. Supposedly smartthings is sending me a new one. Also, I have had difficulty connecting some supposedly compatible things, such as hue bridge. I also find several features lacking from the App that I hope they will add. Consider paying for features found in the 3rd party android app called "Sharp Tools" to get widgets and tasker plugin.

First smart home hub, it's amazing! Great community support. So many compatible items. No crash so far, been using it since Black Friday of 2016. Highly recommended

Works great, turns on my lights when I stagger out in the morning to get coffee. The app is a little buggy and I can't control my D-link pan and tilt camera with out the D-link app but I can view video and use its motion sensor to activate other devices so not a deal breaker.

With an easy install was able to get the smart home up and running quickly. Though some of the included sensors seem gimicky, especially considering the price. 3rd party items working great, just wish the smartthings sensors were less pricey for what they do.

It works pretty well, however Samsung has some bugs that need to be worked out. Also, the devices to really make this work are pretty expensive. If Samsung gets the bugs worked out I would give it 5 stars

I purchased this after being fed up with Lowes Iris home automation system. I purchased this system and it works so much better plus no monthly fees. I also have been able to buy Lowes iris contact sensors and they work with smart things and are significantly cheaper. I have had this system for a couple of months and it has been working very well. I would recommend Smart Things to anyone. Smart things is also compatible with a wide variety of components.

I set up my system in about 1.5 hours. The only problem I had was keeping an open/close sensor connected to the hub. I tried placing the sensor on a door in my workshop which is about 40 feet from my house (and about 45 feet from the hub). I really want one there and will continue to try various things. BUT A WARNING: I set up security and used the monitoring system that is offered. I set my system up to arm when I'm not home (when my phone isn't nearby). Well one morning I woke up and my phone turned off because of no charge. I set the alarm off without knowing it. I didn't get the call from the monitoring company because my phone was off. Then the police showed up... So yes, it works!

In my opinion this is one of the better smart home hubs. It is easy to use and has lots of compatible devices available for it. The price of Samsung's smart devices is a bit high in my opinion though. I think their sensors are overpriced.

I have been a long user of the Wink. And I must say, there are things I think they can do better, but SmartThings. Let's just say I have hope. The app for SmarThing is not fun, I have yet to really move all my devices over to SmartThings, mainly because of the Applications. It just seems so oddly setup when you think about how straight forward the Wink App is. Anway...I think Smarthings is the way to go, because they have their own devices. But they really need to make that app better. Oh and another note. Buy batteries for your sensors now. Each one of mine died within less than a month of owning it. Once replaced they seem to preform better.

Love this product! Love home automation, and this to me is the king of the bunch. Easy to install, easy to configure, and if you do have problems, you can call Samsung and they are most helpful. I highly recommend this product! Great Security, automation and it is lot's of fun.

This is a very flexible product for both home security and home automation. The only small complaint is that the application could stand some user interface improvements. The fact they handle their devices, Zigbee and Z-wave opens up the field for inclusion of many more devices than most similar systems. I have had not errors of the system, although occasionally third party devices take a couple of tries to connect.

I've been very pleased with the SmartThings since I bought the Home Monitoring Kit bundle. Besides the ability to deploy door/window sensors, the hub can control lights (I have both Cree and GE Hue lights connected), outlets/switches (I use Belkin Wemo), thermostats (I use Honeywell) and many other IoT devices. The SmartApps give a ton of flexibility in controlling the devices and you can use the state of one device to activate another. I use it mainly as an alarm system, but it also replaced several standalone timers I had on light fixtures as well as a non-wifi programmable thermostat. I can do things like, turn on outside lights from dusk to dawn, turn on inside lights for a few hours in the evening and early morning, lower the temperature at night, automatically enable the alarm system once the last person leaves the house, turn on multiple lights when a door is opened (lights only turn on after dusk and before dawn so no waste turning on lights during the day). This is by far the most flexible and easy to configure IoT I've seen to date.
