great item... very easy to set up and add devices.

Was able to set up the system quickly and with no problems. Easy to add "things". Very pleased thus far.

I love how easy this is to setup. However the app can be cumbersome to perform some actions such as turning on and off light bulbs. But I still like it enough that I bought a second one.

I purchased the Samsing SmartThings and IRIS by Lowe's for automation and home security. I really like both however, for automation I think SmartThings wins hands down. It is simple to use, connects to many more non-SmartThings devices and workd with IFTTT applets.

This system works well to monitor while away - They are introducing a way to allow a 3rd party service to also help. I had a presence sensor and also the included electric outlet component which both now do not appear to be working... But otherwise I have been happy with the system so far.

This product works great. The only problem is the setup instructions are lacking. You have to have the system connected. My problem was the provided Ethernet cable was defective. After searching the web, and replacing the cable, everything progressed very well.

If you want a smart home and consider yourself competent with consumer technology, this is the system to go with. There are several reasons Smartthings is the marquis smart home platform: -broad device compatability: unlike Lowe's proprietary platform or something like Wink that is a sinking ship, Smartthings works with nearly any open hardware. Even things not officially supported are possible thanks to the open framework that allows for simple copy/paste programming. -reliable service and large backing mean this service won't fail miserably like Wink is Smartthings has been by far the best of the smart home consumer platforms. This set is a great deal and would easily cost $300 if bought separately. Pro tip; buy the bundle when you need more sensors and simply sell the extra hub on eBay. Or you can gift it to a friend and welcome them to the best platform too

Smartthings is great! It was very easy to install and start using. I love being able to turn on and off the lights in my house from anywhere. It's extremely convenient when we're on vacation. Using Smartthings makes me feel better about our home security.

Very easy set up. Connects with almost anything. A hub is the backbone of your home automation system and this is a easy one to use. Phone app is also easy to use. Works great with my Google home and with the app IFTTT. I highly recommend this product

The Smart Things hub is a great way to consolidate your Smart Home items into one app. They are always looking to add new products and make it even better My knock on this so far is the limited use of the products synced with the Smart Things hub. The app doesn't allow you to do the same things that the individual apps do. For example, I have 3 Smart Cams set up and you can't do anything but live view the camera. You can't zoom or watch any previously recorded videos, hence the 4 starts. Hopefully they continue to update and make the app and hub better to warrant 5 stars

Affordable way to set up a security system and connect devices. Easy to monitor things when away from home. Works well. Some devices require a gateway. As long as it is compatible with Smart Things you do not need it. The hub connects it.

I've been wIting for this to go on sale so I could check out the differences between Wink and this. I like it a lot for what I've compared. I have honeywell thermostats and like its interface better than Wink. Still reviewing though.

SmartThings is simply amazing and is very easy to setup and use, plus it's owned by Samsung, so you get the added benefit of a major consumer electronics company supporting the home automation space. With the included sensors you can monitor doors, windows and even your garage door open & close status. Set the motion detector to turn on a light when you come home in the evening, and configure a small appliance, space heater, Christmas lights, etc to work remotely with the smart outlet. Add in support for Google Home, Hue light bulbs, and Zigbee or Z-wave suppported devices and before you know it, your home is executing tasks on your behalf or letting you remotely control elements on the fly or with your voice. Highly recommened if you want to move into home automation.

Easy to setup and works with many 3rd party products already and more coming. Like that is very customizable and that you can program new apps into yourself when 3rd party is not officially supported. Highly recommend.

You can get very creative with how you use it. Lots of nerdy fun.

I purchased the Samsung Smartthings Home Monitor Kit based on a recommendation from a friend and online review. I was looking for a way to monitor our cabin. It has worked as designed. I have motion detectors in the ground floor rooms. They work--we had a our daughter go to the house. I forgot to turn off the alert system, but got a text that motion was detected. i looked at the camera and saw my daughter there. I can also monitor the temperature to ensure the heat is working. I also have z-wave compatible thermostats to turn up the heat prior to arriving. Nice to have a warm cabin when we arrive. It is affordable and works as advertised. I found the app to work reasonability well--it is not as intuitive as I would like.

I've used everything that came in the kit. The door notification feature is pretty accurate and I love that it talks to my Echo, Wink, and Hue lights. Will be buying more pieces of SmartThings for other parts of the house.
