This is the second water leak sensor I have in use. One at furnace hot water heater area and one at the well pressure tank area. I have never received an alert because of a leak but I periodically test them and immediately receive an alert. It gives me peace of mind that should there be a water leak I will be notified before damage can be done.

I purchased the Smart Things Hub in order to utilize the moisture sensors for multiple areas of my home. Primarily, my sump pump, Dishwasher, under sink and sewer area in my basement. Works incredibly well and notifies my cell phone by text and via the Smart Thing App. I would highly recommend!

Have mine set for notification and will set off the alarm Siren at home to alert me of a water leak. It can be set to turn off the water via a Smart Valve thru Smartthings hub. The only problem is the battery reports 67% very quickly, but is still functioning 2 months later. I believe this is a known problem.

This is excellent in ensuring that I know if water is present in a location. So far has generally worked well, can be a little extra sensitive in that if an area has very high humidity or barely damp concrete seapage it will trigger as "wet" when it is more "damp".

Use this to monitor a sink that keeps getting clogged up by my wife's hair. As soon as the water starts to leak from the clog, I get notified. The only complaint is the type of batteries it uses. It would have been more efficient if it used a triple A battery.

After having had water surprises in the past, I invested in new gutters and the water leak sensor. I actually have peace of mind knowing that should the gutters not be the fix I needed, I won't be underwater before I know about it!

I have an a/c drain that backs up occasionally in a hard to get to spot. I wanted a remote alert that would let me know if that was happening without my needing to get into the space and before it dripped into the room below so I could turn off the a/c remotely as well as hustle home to mop it up. The problem is that the sensor keeps going "offline" and I don't get an alert that it has so until I check the app, hours or even days have gone by with no actual "protection." Also, the app constantly makes me log in, and there is no "stay logged in" function which is a pain. When they work, they work well, but all the smart things have this random offline issue.

This is a good sensor. The battery pull strap broke during installation. Smartthings replaced the sensor.
