This unit was specifically recommended by a photo coach for its portability. Cost per GB is higher than a spinner, but shock resistance when compared to a similar size of spinning drive makes the extra expense worthwhile. I use two of these drives: One is my working drive that holds all of my images for a year. This first drive is always connected to my main computer when I'm home, providing fast access to a year's worth of files. This first drive also backs up to my cloud and Drobo NAS. The second drive is a backup of the first while in the field, and this drive never leaves my person while I'm on a trip.

I purchased this due to its copy a 4 gb file in ma matter of seconds. It read 350MB/s when transferring the folder. Pros: Lightweight, usb c to usb c cable and usb A to usb c cable included, fast transfer speed, stylish, remains cool to the touch when its on. Works with Windows, MACs and Android devices. It also has a 3 year warranty. It is usb c compatible. Cons: price is expensive as opposed to external hard drives and does not come with a storage pouch.

It is fast and works well as an external drive for storage. Powered by PC and takes-up very little space on desk. Connector cable could be a little longer.

I have had other SSD's but this is by far the best. It's fast, portable, dependable, overall quality product. I recommend this drive over any one out there now

I shopped around for an external drive comparing hhd vs ssd for a few weeks and this T5 ssd brings extraordinary value. It really is 5x faster than a hhd but that comes with having less storage (500gb is still a ton of storage). I had a 1tb hhd that i used for backing up & playing Wii games off of plus storing other personal docs/photos but after 4 weeks it started making a clicking noise and then the Wii games were having disc read errors as they were loading too slow. I upgraded to this SSD and everything is a lot smoother / faster / efficient. The only reason i gave it a 4 (not 5) is because I didn't have the option to have it shipped to me and was forced to pick it up at the store. Then the store ended up having issues and delaying my pick up but when contacting customer service they swore that they'd honor the pick up date. I wasted a lot of time having to take my young children out in this "stay at home" state only to be told that it's delayed. When contacting customer service again they weren't able to do anything. Overall great product, great price but complete opposite with 1 star rating for customer service and trust/honor word of Best Buy

Great overall product, with quick transfers and lightweight. Tried not to drop it but fell a couple times and still running perfectly. Would recommend.

This thing is tiny! It’s amazing how much storage you can shove in such little things. It’s really easy to use and I like that you can password protect it.

This is a small lightweight and reliable product. It works great as a start disc.; increasing speed by approx. 30% and startup time has been cut in half.

Money well spent. Insanely fast transfer speeds! I love how small it is and can easily fit in your pocket. SSD gives this a peace of mind from small drops.

500GB in a sliver of a device so small and compact you can slip it into a pocket and not feel its presence. And like most solid state drives, it's fast..

Been playing Xbox for a long time and the internal drive was very slow for most games more so for Destiny 2. On the recommendation from a friend, decided to purchase an SSD to help speed things up and boy am I glad I did. This simple purchase accelerated load times a ton. Would recommend this drive (Samsung comp equip had never let me down in the past) to whomever wants to have faster load times in their Xbox games. Transferring from the Xbox internal drive to this external SSD was no problem at all and pretty quick too might I add. Five stars all around.

Excellent SSD hard drive that is light and quite small in terms of footprint. I have a few traditional portable drives and when compared with them, the read/write speed on this is miles ahead, saving time and being able to access content faster. Given the power is USB-C driven, its easy to move it between various devices....While the price is slightly higher than conventional Portable drives, the performance and the footprint justifies this buy for me.

Use this daily with a MBP on both photography and video assignments. It's fast, reliable and has a small footprint. Extremely happy with the purchase.

This hard drive is so easy to use and so compact. It literally fits in the palm of your hands. Very fast hard drive as well.

This is a super fast and very small drive with great capacity. The speed of SSD is hard to beat once you get a taste of it. Because of it I now own two. Reliability without moving parts inside should be very high and I have experienced no issues. I ahve been running a Samsung SSD in one of my desktops for 2 years and am very pleased with it as well. I also like the encryption technology that comes with this portable drive. If you want, you can easily secure the contents with simple password protection and it can be enabled or disabled with a simple menu.

Love this little bluish SSD. It's transfer rate both up and down is fast. The size is very compact, which is great for travel or for stuffing in a bag. Besides the SSD, it includes a USB-C to USB A-cable, which I use, and a USB-C to USB-C cable, which I wish I could use for faster transfers but my laptop doesn't have a USB-C port. Would probably buy this again but want to have Samsung's 1TB SSD instead. Otherwise this 500GB is awesome!

No issues writing or reading files from a Samsung Tab S3 or Galaxy S8. Both devices were able to power the T5 from the devices USB connection. I also use it to do a system mirror of my PC (T5 needs reformatted to a NTFS format for this option) in less than a half hour (300GB of data). Additionally, it can be used to play files on a Roku 3 streaming device. In summary, I got more than what I thought I paid for when I purchased the T5. After reading many reviews I was doubtful it would work with the Android devices and only if supplemental power supply was used to power the SSD. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no issues.

This drive is awesome and I can back up my computer a LOT faster using this drive. It is small and easy to carry around if you need to do that.

I make a couple of trips a year to Europe for holidays, and I take lots of photos while on these trips. I travel light, and need to back up my photos while on the go. This drive has worked very well for me! So good in fact that I bought a second one, and then splurged on the 1TB model. These drives are very durable, small, light, and 100% reliable. I recommend them highly.
