Wonderful device. Copied almost two TB to this drive and and an older T5 (also a great drive) but this one beat the older one easily in speed. Very fast, feels solid, well protected. I have not used any of the samsung software yet, it came formatted as exfat and worked on both my mac and PC.

Backup for our backup. Lessons learned the hardway, we now use this as a hardware backup and rotate devices fir backups. Went with a little bit more sturdy case. No long term info yet, but it does what it says.

Portable and security data. Fast transfer data. Need software to update memory. Hard to disconnect it in sometimes.

I also bought a high speed thunderbolt cable and, paired with this drive, it makes for a pretty darn fast transfer rate. I formatted in APFS on my M1 MacBook Pro to achieve maximum performance as opposed to compatibility and I'm glad I did. Thinking of buying another one to have more on-site backup of precious files.

I bought this for my nephew to use for his summer internship in marketing/photojournalism. He will only use this type of external storage device. This particular one was purchased because the one his parents purchased for him has failed twice. This one is working well and there have been no lost files to date. It has plenty of storage, and should last a while depending on the number of photos and other content being stored.

I got this SSD to work with my PS5. While it will not run PS5 games, it does free up install space on the internal SSD for all the PS4 games, and even provides storage for PS5 games. It is a good way to get more storage for a PS5 knowing that your PS4 installs will go here, freeing up space for PS5 titles.

Wife was very pleased. Have a one year old with the reach of a two year old and this already survived a fall.

I can always trust these Samsung drives to take my work on the go and as a backup location. However, if you are working with higher bitrate video files off of this drive, prepare for some speed issues. A proxy workflow easily solves this problem.

Exceeded expectations for overall speed. I expected the save and retrieval times to be better than a spinning disk device but was surprised at just how much faster this was. Should have moved to Solid State sooner.

The samsung t7 sheild works great! I use it on a blackmagic pocket camera and have no issues. So glad that samsung has released a new version that works for video professionals. I still would buy the t5 over this. Although the mounting of the drive is an issue since they have changed the sizes.

Solid! Works fast. Just wish I bought the 4TB one.
