4k movies come out very crisp. The only down side is the built in apps are slow. Otherwise, the player itself is good and you will enjoy watching your movies.

Great picture, awesome upscaling even of old DVD's, good network features, easy to use.

This Samsung blu-ray player is just what I was looking for. I have upgraded my TV to a Samsung 8500 UHD 4k display, and I wanted a blu-ray that would feed it a beautiful signal. The UBD-K8500 does that in spades. Entire system controlled with Control4, and a Pioneer Elite 4k home theater receiver, and the system is sweet. This Samsung 4k Blu-ray compliments the system perfectly. Great 4k picture and wonderful sound.

I wanted something that was high quality and would last a long time as well as take advantage of some future-proofing features such as HDR. Blu-ray is rendered fantastically. DVD quality is improved although in my case the DVD picture cuts out for a couple of seconds from time to time. Smooth motion on DVD can be jittery or halting like the player is too over the top and trying to compensate for the older-tech DVDs. Since Blu-ray is more or less the standard and 4k discs are rolling out I won't quibble too much about the DVD quality. I love the streaming features as well as access to all the popular streaming sites. The Wi-Fi abilities are key in this player for streaming or updates which are incredibly easy to do. All in all, this is a decent player for long-term service and easy to use.

I believe this is currently the best available 4K Blu-ray currently on the market. Just make sure you have the correct HDMI cables, and I don't mean you have to buy the expensive ones either. You need to confirm HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 ready for your cables and equipment. Great video and audio especially with Dolby Atmos.

This player plays true 4k Blu-ray discs. It also plays any other discs that you have. The picture looks like you are there. With a 4k tv you will never leave your house again!

Very easy to operated and has a magnificent picture. When connected to my Samsung SUHD TV, it was 100℅ compatible and runs completely with the TV remote with no programming.

This 4K UHD player produces an absolutely amazing picture when playing true 4K-sourced material. What adds to the enjoyment is the beautiful way it renders/upgrades Vudu and Amazon (huge upgrade from using the Fire TV!!!) When playing "HDX" titles, they're upgraded to a stunning near-4K level, the likes of which I've never seen! Truly an outstanding accomplishment for a first hardware release. Cudos aside, this is very much an entry level player...and the only one available on the market...anywhere. I've found that things we've all become accustomed to (stepping through a scene frame-by-frame, for example) are not available here, amongst other features. I expect that a year from now, this will likely be the $99 model with more cutting edge consumer technology on the way.

I was so excited when I heard a 4K bluray player was coming out soon. I had recently bought an lg oled 4K 65 inch, which I recommend by the way, so anyway I naturally wanted a 4K bluray player to test out its HDR limits. And I must say I wasn't disappointed. Love all the extra goodies it comes with like 3D, web browser, up scaling, apps you name it, it has it. I was going to wait for an LG 4K bluray player but glad i bought this one. Buy it!

Extreme high quality video even with non-4k DVDs; easy setup and Wi-Fi integration

Very happy with this BluRay player. Picture is sharp and clear, colors are bright, and all Dvd's appear to have an enhanced picture. I would highly recommend this BluRay player to everyone who wants to maximize their viewing experience. The setup is easy and fast. And if you have a 4K UHD TV, this is a MUST HAVE.

For it being the first of its kind i must say Samsung did it right. It loads quickly and the picture quality is far from anything I've seen. Combine this 4k Blu Ray player with my 4k Samsung JS9000 and I get a theater like experience. Don't know what else to compare this to so I must give it a top rating until others of its kind are released by other companies.

I Was Looking For An Entry Level 4 K Player And I Found Something Better. This Samsung Player Is A Great Ultra HD At The Price, And It Is Easy To Use.

The first thing that jumps out to you is the ease of the installation process. Basically does itself. The next thing is Amazon, which I always found a bit clunky and poor quality picture with my last Samsung player (only 2 years old). Amazon pops up almost immediately with video so clear you can see the skin pores on actors faces. Netflix, Blu Ray, 3D, you will not be disappointed.

This new HD Blu-Ray machine gives you the quality picture that everyone wants when they see a new TV in the Best Buy store. The ease of use is made for electronic dummies, like me. It was easy to install and use. I hooked it up to my Logitech universal remote and everything is like having my own home theater.

Plays 4K video well but I've had a few regular Blu-ray discs that won't play on it but will on the PlayStation. The remote could be much better too. No backlit buttons is a pain and it has to be pointed directly at the box to work. There are also no dedicated fast forward and rewind buttons so you need to press and hold the skip buttons and you find yourself accidentally skipping when you just wanted to rewind something you missed. Not a bad player but it could be better.

Expensive, but works well. The 4k is a noticeable upgrade on my 2014 65" UN65HU8550 samsung tv. The blacks are much better than regular blueray. I will update my review after I get the latest evolution kit [sek3500].

We happened to be in Best Buy on Black Friday weekend and came across this DVD player. We have a nice 4K Samsung television and decided we needed a 4K DVD player. When we realized it was 50% off it was a no-brainer. We set it up as soon as we got home. Very easy set up. It has remarkable color and contrast. We enjoyed it so much that we watched four movies in two days.... love it!
