Just like most others I can now watch 4K movies from a 4K disk on my 4K tv. For those that say they can't see a difference chances are their tv & player aren't properly set up. 4K is more about the detail and clarity. There are some suggestions on other reviews that can come in handy. I'm pretty tech savvy and they surely helped me out.

I purchased this DVD player to go along with my LG OLED 4K 3D TV. It is an amazing combination. I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for the ultimate 4K experience. The only limitation is the remote that comes with the player. If possible, I would replace it with a universal remote that fits your needs. Otherwise, I highly recommend this DVD Player.

Simple menu. Fast loading. 4k movies look amazing! It will even make your older movies more detailed. If your looking to upgrade your player this is it!

As of April 2016 this is the ONLY 4K UHD player on the market - all of the other players only upscale to 4K, they do not play 4K titles. Consequently, this player is outrageously expensive. But it supported HDR out of the box and works flawlessly. It has that Samsung disease that if you turn it off, it also shuts off your Samsung HDTV. It plays everything else (BD, DVD, DVD-R, CD, etc.)

I bought this 4k BDP to pair with the new 4K blue ray movies. The picture quality is amazing. If you want native 4k then this is the product for you.

Finally I can see HDR 4K content that my TV supports! This blows me away. Nothing better than physical media. Netflix and other streaming services give you high quality however compressed movies, and sometimes even more compressed based on bandwidth. With this player and the Discs, I get the full high quality picture that pops on my TV... The sound is amazing too!

I have an earlier model 4k Samsung TV that doesn't have HDR. Other than getting a message to hook up to one when starting a 4k movie, this player is great! Still puts out 4k and looks fantastic on my TV. I have a 3D TV so it's a bonus this also plays them, along with every other type of disc! Can't run a wire to my TV set up so it's nice it's wifi also.

Best 4K player on the market. Get good deal at BB for $199. You need 4K disk(s) to see the different.

One can not be disappointed by this bluray player. Worth every cent you pay for. The picture is crisp and clear and the ease of operation is good.

Ok, I bought a 65" Samsung 8500 SUHD tv last November and love it. Especially watching blu-rays since regular tv doesn't benefit from the 4k yet. I also bought a Samsung 6500 up-scaling Blu-ray player for about $100 and it really brought new life to my blu-ray collection. I've been researching this 8500 4k player for a while now and have been drooling over getting one since it was released in March but I hadn't pulled the trigger until I decided to buy it and 3 movies in 4K including The Martian, Mad Max Fury Road and San Andreas. I spent a significant amount of time making sure I had the best connections using my ONKYO receiver. I did like the feature this player has with a split HDMI output. One for video and one for audio so I was able to send the video directly to my tv and take advantage of the BD WISE feature that I couldn't use before. It really set all of the settings to make a great picture BUT it wasn't any better then my $100 upscaling player. I tried very very hard to make it better to justify keeping it and my 3 movies but after watching The Martian and comparing the 4K to the up-scaled Blu-ray I could not tell any difference at all and trust me, I tried. In fact some scenes were not as clear on this player compared to the up-scaling one. One scene at the beginning when the storm is coming over the mountain it was juttery. And several times the person seemed to have what we called back in the day as snow (dots) on them. So, sadly, I packed this one back up and returned it to Best-buy. I'm very disappointed. When this player arrived I was like a kid at Christmas. I purchased the 3 movies from Amazon and they gratefully made an exception for me to return the movies, including The Martian that I had already opened. So as far as would I recommend this player to a friend? ONLY if they didn't own an up-scaling player already and just had $400 to blow. but honestly, the $100 4K up-scaling player looks just as good to me as this one and the remote control is much nicer too so I'd buy it and let the prices drop on the 4K players and DVDs. Plus, let them work out any kinks with the players.

I bought this product when it was one of the only options. The unit works great and well worth the investment with 4k technology

Samsung has introduced a blue ray 4k dvd player, not as the other dvd players this one will play a dvd that was produced as a 4k. You cannot view a true 4K dvd without this device, if you have a 4 K Samsung tv this is worth it..

Price was $399.00. Picture quality looks great and works great. Wish I would have waited for the new XBOX with 4K ability instead, would have gotten a game system and 4K player for same price.

I was reluctant to buy this but I couldn't wait for the other companies to put out their version. Easy to hook up and performs well. Remote is kind of small and the curved body is ridiculous.

I've had this 4K player since it came out and I'll agree with a lot of reviewers that it is not that great of an improvement over regular Blu Ray movies . That is until I got a better TV ! I had a 65" Samsung 8 series which is a great tv for watching tv and Blu Rays but I was not impressed with my 4K Blu Ray movies . So one day I was talking to the local magnolia theatre rep at a nearby Best Buy store and was telling him how I wasn't impressed with my 4K movies . I told him my set up of the Samsung 65" 8 series the Samsung 4K player running everything through my Pioneer Elite SC 95 using audio quest cinnamon hdmi cables . He says I got a great setup except that my tv basically was the weak link to my happiness . Apparently my tv is just a basic entry level 4K display and I needed a better one to achieve the wow factor I am missing with my theatre setup. So a few weeks later my wife and I decided to buy a 65" LG OLED Curved screen and bam !!!! I couldn't be happier . The LG TV is fantastic . My Samsung 4K Blu Ray player works perfect for me . I have over 50 titles in 4K and everyone of them is great . Long story short , get a better tv and you'll be very happy with this Samsung 4K player.

Very easy to use and program in time/date. All the extra apps make this a ver popular piece of electronics in the house. Very simple to use. The picture is AMAZINGLY clear.. The upgrading is awesome. Best bang for the buck.. maybe even better than the more expensive units.

As a family disallusioned with theater-going this DVD player looks better than some films lately, totally pops with color, depth and clarity. Even regular dvds are upscaled and look fantastic. All this with no one kicking your seat or crunching popcorn loudly to distract!

I can't recommend this product enough. The picture is spectacular. If you thought that blue ray was good, just wait til you see it in 4K HD
