Plays 4K DVDs fine, remote is not too friendly. Hard time watching Netflix on this player due to the remote buttons not linking up to moving through Netflix like other systems. May just need a learning curve. Decent player for 4K. Not sure why Samsung is going to these new remotes with a special battery. No longer uses regular aa or aaa batteries.

Blu ray 4K movies are fantastic to view, the colors are vivid, it's like being in a theater!

This player was on sale for $249 which is a pretty good deal. It's not worth its $399 retail price. Great picture, decent audio, but I can't stand the curved design! Just because Samsung tv's are now curved doesn't mean the consumer wants a curved disk player. Most of us are putting them in our component racks so it looks weird and out of place with my other components. I almost took it back for that reason alone, but at this time there are only 3 brands that make a 4K UHD player, so I bought this one since it was on sale.

If you have a 4K TV, this player (or any true 4K player) is a must have. 4K movies look great and streaming Netflix, up scales to 4K, looks way better than any other device I have used.

I purchased the Samsung 8500 on a rebound from the play station. My family didn't like how they had to go through so much to watch a movie while I was gone on Vaca. Replaced it with the Samsung 8500. Much easier and a pleasure with the Samsung 4K TV. It smartly recognizes the Player has a CD and automatically switches over. Wonderful!

Recently upgraded my TV to 4K, and with a variety of cash-back and discounts, this became an ideal matching purchase. Upscaling from BluRay is excellent, but the limited availability of 4K discs is still a gap waiting to be filled. There are few (any?) competitors right now, and I'm hopeful this player outlives its warranty. Good buy!

3D blue ray is awesome. It went on sale and they refunded the difference. It's like being at the movies, in your own home. Great price , great buy. Great for the kids, and for adults.

DVD works perfect with the Samsung 4K television I was very impressed with the picture and the wifi was no problem with my system

Quiet, Brilliant Picture, Fast & Efficient. Great Design

After you take into consideration that a video system is only as good as it's worst component, and that there are a LOT of Blue Ray players on the market, you have to admit that this one is really top notch. The user interface is clean and intuitive. The features are spot on. The quality of materials and construction are remarkable. When added to your UHD HDR system, the quality of picture and sound are unmatched.

The unit is as advertised the only reason that I didn't give it five stars is because of the price tag $400 for this unit seems a bit high although I can play everything I want on it all of my old stuff including all of the 4K DVDs to come

Great 4k player.Very easy to use and user friendly . .

This UHD Blu ray player is faster than the standard Blu Ray player which is awesome for new technology. However, can really tell if I will experience a viewing improvement since real 4K videos are not available yet; just conversions.

I bought PS3 when I needed bluray player. But for 4K UHD bluray, I decided to buy this Samsung one instead of XBOX ONE S, because I wanted the dedicated player and I did not trust much MS hardware. This Samsung player is good enough in both price and performance. It boots up very fast, and good upscaling for bluray disk. Now I connects this to LG OLED 4K TV, and they are working together well. Very satisfied.

Been looking for this 4K bluray player for months and Samsung didn't disappoint. The picture quality is amazing.
