    The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is the remote control quit working less than 2 months in. I followed the directions in the e manual and found it was not the batteries, I put in fresh Duracell batteries held the buttons down to reset the remote, no luck. Fortunately I have 2 other Samsung blue ray players and the unit works perfectly using them. I am going to see if Samsung will replace the remote. I understand that there is a problem with the remotes on this unit so beware.

    The remote on the M8500 stopped working, playback was poor, and somehow it even interfered with my Fios system. The M9500 works seamlessly, remote works, Fios control is back and playback is better too. BUY THIS ONE NOT the 8500

    Failed Programming in remote and no Dolby Vision

    A flagship Samsung Bluray play remote was not programmed for one of the top selling TV's - Vizio. The remote will work with junk TVs but not Vizio. Clearly a failure in supporting the consumer. Also, with Dolby Vision gaining popularity, the life of this UBD-M9500 will be limited and not support future technology. No more Samsung for me.

    My player freezes and skips when watching movies....no matter what the format of the disk
