I have not tried tried to transfer from Google Photo and I am not sure that this device can be used for that purpose. I even purchased two as “stocking stuffers” .

Thanks for sharing your experience. On older Lightning-based iOS devices, system limitations may prevent external drives from appearing directly in the Files app. Kindly use the SanDisk Memory Zone app(https://support-en.sandisk.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/52507) for better performance and smoother overall experience.

The only con is I wish there was a cover so the ports weren't exposed. Aside from that, it does what I need it to do!

Sales person was busy & finally told me this was what I needed. Worked on phone but not computer. Still playing with it. Instructions are not clear, at least for me.
