Unfortunately didn't unbox and connect within return period. Can no longer recommend any SanDisk/G-Technology drives. This is my 1st 6TB one, had the same issue with a former one of five 4TB ones a year back. Out of box defect issue same as with this one. Need to seek alternatives going forward.

Takes a few steps to format for a pc
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Concerning use with a pc-You have to be use commandline diskpart First to remove the mac partition. Then move to disk manager and create a simple volume and format and assign a drive letter . That's all it takes. Now the negative :the drives interface is usb c. And i can only get the pc to recognize it when it is plugged into a usb powered hub. Plugging directly into my laptops usb port will not recognize the drive. Sandisk tech support cant help me Crystal disk reports a R/W of app 230 mib.

Due to its size and the fact that it needs to be plugged into a power outlet, it is for the person who does not need an external hard drive on the go. Highly recommended as a back up drive to be kept at home.

What ?
