Great drive addition if one wants or needs extra storage. It is relatively quiet. It does get a bit warm but has more than adequate venting. The speed is really fast and the aesthetics are quite industrial.

I work with pictures and video's quite a bit and needed a larger Time Machine drive to backup my 27" iMac and TB3 connected G-Tech external drive. This one filled that bill perfectly. There's plenty of room for backups and it seems to be a fast and reliable drive. Very happy with it's performance so far.

This is a fast storage and retrieval device. I was impressed with its design and ease of you. If you have a thunderbolt interface, this is the way to go for extending your computer storage.

This is the best Thunderbolt 3 external drive that uses spinning hard drives inside that you can buy. I have used a lot of alternatives. Synology and QNap NASs, USB 3.1 (gen. 2) enclosures, and various USB disks, as well as some really fast Thunderbolt 3 RAID enclosures that use four NVME drives. They are clearly faster, since they use SSDs, but price-wise, I can only justify using 1TB SSD drives or smaller. This lets me consolidate all of my data into one very fast (for a spinning hard drive) enclosure. I can work with my files directly on the drive using Lightroom, Photoshop, etc., and not suffer any lag whatsoever. Of course, there's only one hard drive inside this enclosure, so it's not safe to rely on as a backup for other drives unless you back it up to. And I do, to Backblaze B2 (the least expensive but reliable cloud storage system). I use Chronosync 10 on my Mac to do that backing up. If you need fast storage (40GB/s) then Thunderbolt 3 is the best choice, and on that front, after a lot of research, this is the drive I chose. And I couldn't be happier. It's not cheap, but quality rarely is.

Very fast, even for editing video! Worth the extra price compared to the standard USB-C version. I have both and they both work awesome!

Exacted what was needed to back up computers. Looks are ok. Disk space is awesome.

I am a photographer, so having my data stored reliably, and backed up is extremely important to me. I've tried less expensive hard drives, only to have them fail or simply fail to format out of the box. Thus far, I've found the SanDisk G-Tech drives to be the most reliable. Data transfer with the Thunderbolt drives is extremely fast, just as one should expect.

Pricey, due to the Thunderbolt 3 connection, but it seems to do what it's supposed to do. The test will be how it holds up long-term. Time will tell.

Just what I needed for my iMac. I waited a long time for no reason I have a G-Drive. It just works great no problems.
