Posted .Hi, please be informed that what you are observing is the difference in the definition of one Gigabyte by Operating Systems versus all Storage device manufacturers. Operating systems use a binary system which will present a lower number of GBs than the decimal based system used by Storage Device manufacturers to define the capacity of products. This is due to the binary system representing a GBs as a higher number of actual bytes. For example: Operating systems define a 1GB as 1,073,741,824 Bytes. Storage device manufacturers define 1GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes. Also, you may research on the internet by reading tech blogs/ articles to know more about the same. I choose the SanDisk brand because it has always been reliable. This one has lived up to my expectations. I can download an entire series, plug the drive into my TV and enjoy without interruption.

This Flash Drive has worked Perfectly with my computer backing up my Data. I will only buy SanDisk Products when I need a Replacement.

The package does not indicate Windows Vista will work. My previous external backup drive FAILED (Seagate, not SAN DISK). Needing to back up this old computer, I needed a drive Windows Vista Home Premium could access. Plugged in San Disk to the USB 2.0 slot and in under 10 seconds I am copying data to the USB Drive. WHY AN OLD COMPUTER? I have an application on this computer I use occasionally, so I wanted to protect access to it. If need be I can restore to a new computer hardware should the laptop fail. Very pleased with San Disk brand - never had an issue with any San Disk product, highly reliable!
