Customers appreciate the Ultra Fit 128GB USB 3.0 Type A Flash Drive's small size, large storage capacity, and ease of use, frequently citing it as a good value for the price. Many also highlight the fast transfer speeds enabled by the USB 3.0 interface. However, some users noted that the drive can get warm during use, and a few mentioned minor design concerns regarding the protective cap. Overall, the positive feedback on storage and speed outweighs the negative comments on heat and design.

First of all, this thing is small. Super small. When plugged into the 3.0 port on my tower, the semi circular end sticks out maybe 1/4 inch. Great for a laptop I would imagine.
Secondly, I bought this to backup photos from my Macbook Pro.(network sharing makes this very easy) It was formatted FAT32(I believe) and initially I wasn't able to download pictures to it. FAT32 has an 8GB max file transfer limit, and my transfer was much larger than that. What I did(Windows 10 by the way) was to create a new folder on my desktop, drag and drop contents of the drive to that folder, and then reformat as NTFS. That way I saved what was sent with the drive(in case I needed it in the future) as reformatting the USB will wipe it of all content. This review is obviously for people like me who aren't IT professionals, but like to learn how things work. Once reformatted, the transfer went off without a hitch.
Some reviews mentioned this thing getting hot. It's been running for about an hour now(58GB is the total transfer) and it's about 40% done. The USB is slightly warm at most.
Overall, very impressed with this product. It's working perfectly for my needs, and easily adds 128GB of storage space to my desktop by utilizing the 3.0 USB port. Got it on sale for $30, and in my opinion, that was money well spent.

I have a 64GB drive just like this one. Is great size and great speed when I need to transfer files. I got a great deal on the 128GB and works as great as the other one. I strongly recommend it to any one.

I got this usb to use it as my main "hard drive" since the SSD on my mac air 2014 quit. I just installed Mac OS X in it and it's been working greatly since then (2 months or so ago). The size (it has to be plugged in all the time) and the speed (3.0) allow me to keep running everything I did before. Note that the speed won't be as fast as the SSD but it's good enough even when running scripts or compiling code for class.

I purchased this product primarily for its size. I use a 12 inch MacBook for college and use a USB 3 to USB C adapter to use flash drives. The product works very efficiently, although it does get warm while transferring files. The size of this drive is a perfect fit for my adapter and makes using a flash drive on my Mac much less awkward. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Most USB 3 flash drives are fast enough to run Windows from, and this one is also small enough that you don't need to worry about knocking it out of the USB port.

Had laptop issues so I had to transfer just under 100 gb from the bad laptop HD onto a thumbdrive. This took all info flawlessly. But man, is it small! Came w/no lanyard or string to attach it to and as you can see by the pic it's literally the size of a dime. It does come w/a clear cover but that's no bigger than the drive. It looks like there is actually an area on the thumb to loop in a string or something to not have it just sitting there, so small. And my pic shows what I did which was find a small clear package to store it in; anything is better than just putting the cover on it and leaving it like that because it will get lost that way.
Best Buy does offer cheap cases w/ key ring, so there's that. Also if you do buy this based on performance, keep in mind the price. This was a Deal of the Day exactly when I needed it; I bought it for $29.99, savings of $90...I never would have bought it at regular price

Works fairly well, but gets hot and is "removable"

Pros: this drive is fast, tiny, and has a huge capacity at a reasonable price.
Cons: it gets quite hot in the port, even if it's idle. It also suffers from a technical issue called the "removable bit" being set. This causes two major problems: it cannot be used to boot a UEFI computer (i.e. can't use it as a Windows 10 install USB) and more importantly for such a large flash drive IT CANNOT BE PARTITIONED OR USED WITH PARTITIONS UNDER WINDOWS. Windows only allows use of the first partition in a format Windows knows how to use if this drive is partitioned; the rest are 100% inaccessible from Windows without hackish filter drivers that hide the removable bit.
SanDisk DOES NOT provide a tool to change this bit and the Lexar tool commonly used to switch it DOES NOT WORK with this drive.
If you will use it as a 128GB one-partition drive, it's great overall. If you're planning to use it as a partitioned bootable device, look elsewhere.

I really like this flash drive a lot. It's got a huge capacity in a tiny form factor. I am getting high transfer speeds when using USB 3.0 ports.
What I didn't like about this flash drive was that it gets ridiculously hot. Even if I was only using it for a few minutes. Even if I was transferring any data and the thing was just sitting in a port. It gets really, really hot.

Great for os use for security, or storage

Okay, I am a techie. I like to use things not as directed. I specifically buy micro sized usb drives for os drives. I have the original sandisk cruzer fit (not the ultra) and it is absolute garbage. It is the slowest flash drive ever to exist. I am not joking. So I went reshopping. I decided I wanted a usb 3.0 since usb 2.0 drives are going slower and slower. Seriously 3 mb/s is ridiculous even for usb 2.
So I bought the cruzer ultra fit 32 and 64gb (but assume it works the same for the 128 version). This is what I wanted! Fast fast 130mb/s transfers. Yes it does get slightly hot, but not bad. Let me explain this misconception further... I use this as my windows os drive. Yes you read that right! I do not use hdd's or ssd's in my modern computers in case of theft/malicious code drive isolation. Now a usb 2 port on your computer this would be slow. But with a usb 3.0 port, you can run windows as fast as an ssd (not exactly, but still faster boot and os use than a mechanical hdd. I am going to pick up a another cruzer ultra fit, the 128 this week. I have the 32gb which i run androidx86 with, the 64gb is my windows drive, and the 128 will be my linux drive. I fully recommend this product. Sandisk redeemed itself even though I am still questioning whether the cruzer fit original usb 2.0s were dumbed down to "influence" people to buy the 3.0 drives. Planned obsolescence? Anyway, I recommend this drive if you want something that fits close to flush so it doesnt break off, and the fact you can run operating systems at speed is exactly what I wanted! 5 stars.

The flash drive is very small and obviously has a lot of storage. I've used it on Windows 10 and Android devices. The only drawback is, I assume due to its size, it overheats after awhile. This was after several hours of continuous playback however so, overall, is performed quite well. And I got it on sale at a very good price.

Perfect for Laptops/Chromebooks

Pros:
128GB Storage
Tiny footprint (Mine stay in my laptops/Chromebooks without issue)
3.0 speeds up to 150Mb/s (burst speeds, small file transfer)
Excellent for transfer of smaller files
Stands up to heat without failure or file corruption
5 year warranty
Cons:
Speeds slow during large (500Mb and larger) file transfers
Small size reduces heat dissipation (it gets HOT fast)
Thermal Throttling (The transfer speeds are intentionally slowed to a crawl to prevent overheating, which would cause damage to the drive/files)
Overall:
I now own a small handful of them... I get another one every time they go on sale. I have 3 windows laptops and 2 chromebooks, each one has one of these in them at all times. Their tiny size prevents the drive from getting snagged on things or breaking during transit. Their large capacity holds everything I could possibly want or need.
Other Thoughts:
The thermal throttling has no effect on streaming content *from* the USB drive, only when downloading it *to* the drive. Just one of these is holding 120 MST3K episodes (1hr 38m each@720x480p) as well as all 4 seasons of another show I like (20 min episodes), which adds up to more than 211 hours of videos for just under 92Gb of used space... And all inside a drive smaller than one square inch. Amazing technology!

For a tiny thumb drive with usb 3.0 and a lot of space, the price is pretty fantastic. I've been using it to back up multimedia projects at school for a couple months now. It does get pretty darn hot if you are moving files back and forth a lot, but not so hot I actually burn my hands. However, I do not know if this will affect the longevity of the device. I really only need it to last a year or two, but I am in the habit of backing up to multiple sources anyways.

I love the SanDisk Ultra Fit. I owned some Ultra Fits in smaller capacity but I got this one when it was on sale and I love it! I'm able to use it as a boot drive for my Macs. It is so slim that you don't even notice it sticking out of the computer. It is fast enough that you can't tell the computer is booted off an external drive.

This flash drive was formatted to FAT32 with 128GB capacity. I reformatted it to exFAT. That ends up as 115GB. This flash drive can get really hot and slow when using it on USB2 port. I use it on USB3 port. Don't seem to have any heating problem. Also very happy with read/write speed on USB3.

It's fascinating how far technology has come, to be able to fit as much memory as 128GB into a chip the size of the HEAD of a memory stick, and at decent speeds! I have been using it to hold larger files, and I can take it anywhere with me. The only issue I feel it may have is that it really heats up. It has not seemd to damage the product or to affect its performance...it is just really warm. However, it seems to work just fine. Glad I bought it!

Want a high capacity, decently fast USB drive that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb from your computer? This is it!
I cannot believe how SanDisk can fit 128GB into this tiny device. Yes, it does get a bit warm, but I have not experienced any issues or failures. It has worked solidly so far, and I even bought a second one to hold my entire music collection in the car.
I have SanDisk cards in my DSLR, and a handful of USB sticks for years, and they have worked extremely well, considering the low cost. Obviously not as fast as my external Samsung SSD drive, it is also a tiny fraction of the size, and can go anywhere, and blend in with such a low profile.
Trying to find reasons to buy more than the 2 I already own :) Best Buy has a great deal on these from time to time, and makes these a steal.

For the large amount of storage space you get, and the tiny amount of physical space this takes up, it's definitely worth it. Depending on how often and how intensively you use it, it does tend to heat up from time to time, occasionally to a worrying degree, but I haven't seen any ill effects from that yet... I just hope it isn't shortening the drive's lifespan.

Got this memory stick because it has a lot of memory and it is very short. I can keep this plugged into my MacBook Pro and still get it into my laptop bag without removing it. I have Parallels running on my MacBook and both OSX and Windows 10 is able to see it. Fast memory stick too.
