This was my first solid-state drive which works well and my laptop.

Installed in my 2012 Mac Mini with no issue. Speedy little Drive!

It has great specs and a three year warranty. Couple that with the price and it's a best buy in my opinion. I've bought two, used one in a MacBook Pro and one in an HP Pavilion dv7-6715us laptop without issues.

I recently upgraded the RAM in my old HP laptop to 8gb from 4gb hoping to see an improvement in speed while running large programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and GoPro video editing. My laptop is around 4-5yrs old with an i3 dual core, recently upgraded to windows 10. Before the upgrades, my laptop took forever to boot up and start one of the above programs (on the order of 4-5 minutes). The upgraded RAM helped only slightly so I looked to switching to an SSD since the reviews have been generally positive and the price is at least tolerable now. I've got to say I'm impressed at the speed of this thing - Boot to Photoshop time is maybe 20-30 seconds with entering my login credentials. Definitely the best $130 I've spent on computer hardware ever. On that note, there are some things that I feel I should mention before you buy one. 1) If you are upgrading a primary drive (the one with your OS on it) you will either have to clone your drive or reinstall the OS. Since I had recently jumped on the free upgrade to Windows 10, I didn't have a backup disk so I had to clone the drive. In order to clone the drive, you must buy an adapter to connect the drive to your pc ($30). Secondly, you will have to find access to cloning software which can be downloaded online, usually for a price. The hard drive has a download for "sandisk SSD dashboard" software which has a link to a one time free clone. I used this software, but it did not copy my bios or it was copied incorrectly and the hard drive would not boot. After reinstalling the original HD, I found a free 30 day trial of a cloning software that would allow for complete bios cloning (many free trials don't). Usually these programs will cost you an extra $20-30. Its also a very good idea to backup your primary drive before you clone or before you swap out drives, which means having an external drive if you don't already (~$50). Also cloning your drive, depending on how much data you have on it and the hardware you are using, can take anywhere from 2-5 hrs - double that if you have to back up. Just be prepared for the hidden costs and time consumption of transferring hard drives. 2) Since my computer is so old, the lightening fast speed of the SSD means that the HD is no longer the weak link in terms data transfer. Now the connections and processor are struggling to keep up with the SSD. Even though the read and write speeds of the SSD are impressive, I don't see any real improvement in data transfer speeds. When copying files from USB ports (for example), the transfer rates are consistent with my old HD (~20Mbps). If you have a newer computer with good connections, this most likely will not be the case for you, but if you are running an older PC and do a lot of data transfers - you might be disappointed in this area. Consider the speed of your other hardware and your application before you buy. For example, if you do video editing but don't have a good graphics card, this SSD won't help you very much. 3) I wasn't too familiar with this before I did my research, but SSD's do have a fixed longevity. This means that the information can only be accessed a finite number of times before they fail. I read in one place 1-2 petabytes, but I'm not completely sure on the amount of data. The SanDisk SSD Dashboard has a meter that monitors this, but it is a little finicky and doesn't display all of the time, so I wouldn't put much faith in it. With that said, make sure you turn off your disk defragment when you upgrade, defragmenting will drastically increase the read/write cycles and it is not necessary to perform on an SSD as all data is accessible at any time- being linear is no longer as important as it is in a standard HD. I would also recommend backing up your files periodically in case of failure. With that said, this thing is CRAZY fast in terms of boot and application times. I'm completely stunned at just how fast this thing really is - my laptop is leaps and bounds faster than it ever was brand new. I also did notice around a 10% increase in battery life when switching drives. I know I am going to have to upgrade laptops in the near future to keep up with my more powerful software and you can bet this SSD will be transplanted into it.

great ssd to go along with my i5, new mobo, and some ddr4 sticks of ram. Really wish I had went bigger since I tapped out the 480 gb in less than a month with just a few of today's current game titles.

After lightning fried my old hard drive, I had to replace. I am so glad that I chose this drive. I wish it was bigger, and less expensive, but I do not regret getting this media. I am hooked!

I put this in a 2010 MacBook Pro to bring "teh snappy" back - later versions of macOS seem optimized for Flash storage, so a drive like this is a great way to keep an old MacBook responsive.

I purchase all of my electronics from Best Buy and are always please with the price and helpful assistance. The Asus Notebook/Tablet is a great little device. I'm still learning what all it does.
