Customers find value in the Ultra II 480GB Internal SATA Solid State Drive's performance and speed, leading to faster boot times and improved overall system responsiveness. Many appreciate its ease of installation and the reasonable price point for the storage capacity offered. Great Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up the drive for my laptop. Now I have only had this drive for a short time, so I can't speak to its overall durability. However, I was simply amazed (shocked actually) at how much of an overall system increase in speed and responsiveness that I received once I put this drive in. For example, not only was my boot up time and shut down time dramatically decreased (as you would expect), but my higher end programs such as Adobe Premiere CC, Photoshop CC, and Sony Architect Pro 6 were so much faster as well. Other performance issues that I noticed was that some apps like the Windows 10 news feed was a whole lot faster as well. I was so impressed with it, I went out and picked up the 960 GB version as well. I dropped in the 960 as my OS drive and used the original 480 as my data drive. I feel like my older i7 is a new machine. Definitely worth the price.

Garbage. Dies too quickly to be worth the $$.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these on a Black Friday sale last year. It died after 5 months, so I RMA'ed the product with SanDisk. After 5-6 months, the replacement drive died. Neither failure came with warning; I assume it to be with the internal controller chip and not the actual storage chip. This time, I bought a different brand. Cannot recommend -- which is a shame, since I've used SanDisk products for years without issue.

Dead in less than six months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am photographer and shoot exclusively with Sandisk Ultra memory cards. I have had great experience with them. Was hoping for the same with and Sandisk Solid State Drive. Do not know why, but this unit died ind less than 6 months in my PC. I Replaced with Samsung - 860 PRO that is going on 2.5 years of use with zero faults.

DEAD drive after 4 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Drive installed and ran just fine but after roughly 4 months of use it died while in use. Lost all data not backed up. Installed late July, dead late November. This model has issues, and a web search proves this is not a unique experience. Do not believe the nearly 5 star rating, it will die on you. I own over 10 different SSDs and have never had a problem. This one DEAD DEAD DEAD after 4 months of light use.

FAILED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the THIRD time I replaced this. It has failed completely on me twice. It failed so bad to where I can't even get a SATA to USB connection to a Mac or Windows PC to read the drive. I contacted Sandisk and they want me to send them the disk the next time it happens, instead of returning it to bestbuy. So they want me to be down an SSD while they research what's wrong? Doesn't sit well with me.

Dead In 6 Weeks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hopefully this review saves someone some grief. Bought and installed the drive in June 2016 and it died today (August 2016). Completely unrecognizable by the UEFI (when installed internal) and OS (tested in USB 3.0 enclosure). Just setup an RMA with SanDisk; have to ship the drive to them first so computer will be down for weeks.

Avoid at all cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Total piece of garbage the drive became a brick that no input output system can access so total data loss and Sandisk has not been of any use with warranty so throwing money away would be better use of time and resources do not buy this it is trash

Awesome External SSD for the Xbox One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this drive on sale for $147 21DEC2015, along with the Insignia 2.5" hard drive enclosure to take advantage of the Xbox One's USB 3.0 port for its superior bandwidth as compared witr the internal SATA 2 hard disk. This SSD loads Witcher 3 about twice as fast as the stock hard drive in the Xbox One. I also noticed a reduction in stuttering that occurs when looking at the in-game map. Switching through inventory is also smoother. The stock hard drive utilizes a 5400 rpm disk running over SATA 2 (3 Gb/s), which is remarkably slower than USB 3.0 which runs at 5 Gb/s. While this drive is meant for SATA 3 in optimal conditions, it will take full advantage of USB 3.0 transfer speeds. Also, the 480GB drive has the highest rated performance of the Ultra II drives, with max IOPS of 98K, which gives this drive some very zippy performance. This all sums up to be a very speedy drive that gives a real world performance boost to game loads on the xbox one. I would highly recommend picking this drive up for your xbox one.

If you want fast, try this SSD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like most people out there who use a computer or a laptop, I really like mine to be fast. I also like it when it fits in my budget. I was able to meet both of these standards by purchasing a budget priced laptop and adding this speedy little SSD to it. When I reboot, I am amazed every single time at how fast it takes me to the login screen. I sometimes reboot just to sit in amazement at the speed of the boot process. Oh yeah, and while using the laptop, there is a noticeable difference in performance as well, especially when opening saved files.

My computer screams now
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 3 1/2 year old laptop was unbearable. An i7 with nice memory and large HD, it still had credible specs, but the years of use had it gummed up. Boot time was approximately 4 minutes. So I restored my system to factory settings, upgraded to windows 10, and then put in the new SSD drive. After reinstalling my apps, my boot time is 20 seconds!!! I wish I had switched to SSD a long time ago, impressive and the price per GB is really reasonable now. Highly recommend.

UNREAL!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say that if you are looking to speed up your computer, this is an excellent route. My computer has now become like an iPad: almost instant on! I wait no more than 20 seconds for it to go from pressing the power button to fully booted up. I am in awe! The other reviews are accurate in terms of speed. Just one thought: you will need the recommend cable and software that Best Buy recommends. If your computer does not have a CD drive, fret not! You can download the cloning software for free, which takes less than one minute. Overall, this is a great way to give new life to your computer or laptop.

Fast Stable & Zero Problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to use in my Mac Pro Tower and it has been fast, stable, and I've had zero problems. I wanted a signifigant speed boost and put this Seagate SSD into a Blade Drive Adapter that OWC sells. Instead of the Speed Limiter being the SATA Bus in my Computer, it runs at the max speed the Drive is capable of by utilizing the much faster PCI Bus. In my Mac, which has the older sata 2 bus, I've essentially doubled my read write rates. Zoooom.
