Purchased this along with an Insignia USB3 enclosure to use as the main, external, drive for my wife's new iMac. I prepared this drive as a bootable main drive and, even though connected via USB3 instead of Thunderbolt 2, it makes the iMac fly! There is no comparison between this drive's speed and the iMac's internal slowpoke which is now programmed as a backup.

After installing this ssd my laptop boots up much faster than it did with the old hdd. Files transfer much quicker and downloads are faster. This hard drive does not come with a sata 3 cable so you will probably have to buy one or a hard drive cloning kit if it is going to be your main drive. The cloning cable and software is only $20. I highly recommend this SSD.

Sandisk has a long and stable history of providing portable flash memory which is not only reliable but durable. While there are superior designs the truth is you will then enter the bespoke/boutique market and have to pay much more for their quality. As of late, Sandisk has now been met with much more competition from companies like Samsung, Corsair or Crucial and their current line of products have stuck to objectifying reliability over performance. With that said, the truth is unless you are a media creator or someone who will consistently use this drive then the performance factor will be as minuscule as each time you open or close your applications. In comparison to the days of mechanical drives this is still a huge improvement over minutes of boot time and hanging on loading times. When comparing Sandisk to other companies you will be hard press to find enough of a difference to deter you from purchasing this unless 2-3 seconds or milliseconds here and there bother you. From a reliability standpoint regarding whether this drive will withstand the test of time, for me it did. I am rating this 4/5 stars simply due to the price. Now that digital media has permeated the consumer market it is laughable that we have yet to receive the required storage capacity at an affordable price to hold all of our digital media. Pair this with data caps and the issue compounds but the truth is downloading of media will always be superior to streaming as there will never be a concern of buffering or an outage with localized media. We need to get to 8TB+ SSDs at under $500 sooner in order to actually capitalize on this market before 4K becomes standardized. If not then we will perpetually be behind the curve and those of us who take to this lifestyle will be forced to compensate for our storage needs through secondary sources like external drives.

2 months in using windows 10, fast boot, fast application startup., lots of capacity, really sped up a 4 year old Dell gamer laptop.

Solid, SSD ;-) . Very happy with the speeds. As a storage drive, there was no need to go for the EVO Pro's. I can write a 5GB file in 3 seconds from the primary NVMe system drive. How much faster do you need? Great price for a 1TB SSD. I've ran these in a few systems in the past and haven't had issues unlike kingstons or other various models.

My laptop drive died and I wanted to extend the hardware life a bit longer. Well, with this SSD, I have done that and so much more. The laptop does hibernate flawlessly now and the battery last 1.5x longer now with less heat coming up thru the keyboard. Then there is the speed that I gained from the SSD drive access time...WOW!!

Fits in the PS4, for quicker loads and decent storage space. 1tb is a little small, but 2tb ssd drives are CRAZY expensive still.

We load some fairly large tables. Around 10,000,000 million rows. With the old hard drive this would take over two days. With this new SSD it took under 2 hours. Everything else was left the same, just the new SSD. The selects went from 9 to 10 seconds too under a second. We use MySql as our database just for a point of reference.

Installed and works great, noticeable improvement in speed.

Installed this drive on a Lenovo Edge 15 with an i3 processor and a standard HDD. The computer was extremely slow to boot up, to the point that I didn't want to use it anymore. With the SSD installed the computer now boots up in about 5 seconds, and all of the programs respond faster as well. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

Replaced a 1 gb hard drive in a laptop that was only months old because I wanted it to respond faster - one of the reasons I bought a new one. Amazing difference, now it boots in only 5 seconds and responds literally in the blink of an eye. Very satisfied and much cheaper than buying a laptop that has an ssd from the factory.
