    Bought this during Thanksgiving this year and definitely worth the money. Had no problems transferring the data and swapped the hard drive.

    This drive won't work with said computer because the stock drive is soldered to the motherboard. I was told that the 2012 model is fairly easy to upgrade. Pretty sure that early 2013 can't be altered as well. That's not good Apple.

    Needed replacement storage for son's laptop as he was leaving for college. This unit allows us the transition from hard disk to SSD and more space. Color me just a little concerned about the long term viability of SSD. We shall see.

    I had to call tech support to get it working in AHCI mode ,which is recommended for SSD. Tech support was great and no problems

    I had found the XPS tower that was a good choice and had pretty much everything but the SSD. So this is item goes in as a post purchase upgrade. since it was on the original wish list of specs.

    SSD will not be the bottleneck of your system so while this may not be the absolute top speed, for the price point, most people won't notice compared to more expensive models...especially for reads.
