Need a new Hard drive for my laptop. The old hard drive was the old type. The new SSD hard drive are much faster. Any after putting a new OS the drive failed after 2 months, I lost everything. Don;t want to do a data recovery because it is expensive. Sent the drive to the manufacture and they send me a new one. I didnt have to give them any information like receipt.

This product was returned due to being tampered

I purchased a 960GB drive and received a 120GB drive. Brought it back the next day and was told to contact Sandisk. Sandisk stated that the item had been tampered with after shipment. Sandisk said they won't honor warranty knowing its been tampered with and told to return to Best Buy and suggested they are responsible for the item not San Disk. One of the most diabolical situations ever experienced and multiple individuals refused to assist me. I would suggest NOT to purchase any of their disk drives especially since they won't honor the warranty.

When I picked up this SSD and put it in my laptop I got a huge suprise. I dropped $200 on a drive that had just over 110gb of space, as opposed to the 1000gb advertised. Yes, there is some lost space on drives in general, but not over 900 gigabytes. And to top things off, customer support tried to blame it on me claiming that I cloned the drive and that somehow made 90% of the drive disappear. This drive is faulty by design.

I have been a professional photographer for over 15 years. I am currently looking at hard drives that still work from at least 10 years ago. i bought this SSD to speed up my work flow and it died with 2 eras. Its not the first one to do it either. Poor build. Apparently there is an issue with power outages and SSD's. I have my info backed up but This thing was spendy. Like 500 for a 1TB.

Bought this in store, went home and it gave me 120GB only when in the box it says 960G, and yes tried it on 3 different machines and a USB cable. In store they told me this model is faulty. So I returned it and got a PNY instead which worked flawlessly. Avoid at all cost. Sandisk quality is spiraling down, now they are WD.

Bought this worthless drive on July 14 and it died, completely died, on September 14. It wasn't dropped or otherwise damaged, just simply stopped working all together. I've tried using several external drive bays - no luck - and it won't connect internally. Never buying another SanDisk product.

    Things they don't tell you

If interested in this product, be aware that you need some things not mentioned, some obvious, some not. You will need the appropriate SATA cable and a power supply extension cord for a SATA drive. If putting this in a desktop, you need some sort of adapter and screws for the drive bay. Most importantly, you will need some sort of cloning software. Really, a simple notice in the main section of the description would have been helpful. I think it is cheap to the point of unacceptable that there was not cloning software, such as when I bought my many hard disks over the years. (In fact, I used the Seagate/ Acronis software from my old disk. I'd like something more product specific and modern) Its too bad, because the SSD is really kicking some hiney as compared to my old disk, and absent the frustration of getting it going it would have gotten five stars. This is more a reflection on the business practices of SanDisk and BestBuy than the product itself. Recommended with the above caveat.

    Price to Storage/Performance King

I scoured countless online e tailers for ssds that offered not only great bang for the buck but also came from a tried and true brand with notable performance. The Samsung Evo is great no question about that. But I read countless reviews about poor service from Samsung when the drives did die. I took this at less than face value because sometimes people exaggerate and or only write reviews when something bad happens to them. I think lots of people who are installing PC components are new to it and don't realize the risks that are inherit with buying electronics. That said I bought the Sandisk ultra ii 960gb because BB had it on sale and had it available same day. I couldn't help myself so I bought it. 960gb for less than 250 is a steal. The only ones you'll find get close to this is PNY and Mushkin but their offerings have less warranty slower speeds and are actually STILL more expensive. So I trust Sandisk. Installing Windows 10 was simple and fast. My machine has an asrock z97 board with 16gb of RAM and it was already booting like a scalded ape. I remember when I rebooted after my driver installs I looked down to read something for 5 seconds and when I looked up I was already back at the login screen. I'm confident in this drive and manufacturer. If you see this drive for 250 or less it's almost impossible to be disappointed.
