    AMAZING SPEAKER STANDS

SEE PICS I HAVE ATTACHED WITH THIS REVIEW! Once I moved into my first house, my main goal was to have a home theater set up for my friends and I to enjoy. After puchasing a speaker package, it was important for me to set up the speakers in the perfect position. There are many problems with mounting speakers on the wall... 1. it is expensive 2. its annoying and looks horrible with the wires dangling 3. you are stuck if you ever want to re arrange your home theater Once I started reading about Hover Foundations, there is no reason to even think about mounting speakers on your wall. Hover stands place your speakers in the perfect position for an ideal home theater experience. Whether it be sports, movies or video games... having all sound effects seem like they are flying over your head is awesome. With these stands, you feel closer to the action than you ever imagined. ADVICE: USE 1 PAIR FOR YOUR FRONTS WITH THE STRAIGHT PILLAR. USE A SECOND PAIR FOR YOUR REAR SPEAKERS USING THE ANGLED PILLAR

Great adjust ability. Comes with both types extension poles. Straight and slightly arched over you.Option of carpet spikes or rubber feet depending on floor surface. My speakers met the 10lb rating but had to modify the mount. Built for smaller satellite speakers , and I was using small bookshelf. It still worked out OK.

    Very Impressive Stands

These stands are superlative. They are heavy (this is a good thing), well-built, and relatively easy to assemble. Upon first opening the box, you see easy-to-follow instructions, and all of the parts are sorted and labled in individual compartments in a long strip of bags. No more sifting through a bag of fifty different parts and comparing bits to the pictures to find the right one. Instead, each little compartment is labled with something like: "8 - Rubber Base Pads (E)". The instructions tell you when to use each part. The stand also comes with a fairly large selection of different mounting options, so don't be worried if you have many parts left over when you are done. One thing you must keep in mind with these stands is that if you have small children or rambunctions pets around, they are not too difficult to tip over, because the base is fairly small. It would not take too much of a jolt to tumble these things over, especially if you have the speaker mounted fairly high and/or the speaker is heavy. The finish is put on well and fairly attractive (black cast iron.) Of course, taste is subjective, but I think they look better than most other stands out there, and they should wear well, since they do not have a glossy finish prone to scratches. All in all, while these stands are not cheap, they are fairly good.

NO OTHER SPEAKER STAND CAN COMPARE

the general opinion is that "speaker stands are speaker stands, what else is there to say" NOT ANY MORE! explosions, airplanes, gun shots, etc all sound like they are flying directly over your head. after hooking up these stands using the angled pillar, i caught myself looking up at them four times during the first movie i watched. these stands make the home theater experience more realistic than ever before, not to mention the cheap price. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE IF YOU ALSO USE YOUR HOME THEATER FOR VIDEO GAMES!!!!! the straight pillars included are best if using them for your front speakers, but the angled pillars maximize your rear surround speakers in amazing fashion. its may seem odd to speak so glowingly of speaker stands, but they will put the ideal finishing touch on your home theater!!

    Built like a tank

These stands assemble very easily, and come with many plates to hold different types of speakers. Supper heavy, and will hold up to 10lb. speakers. I am getting two more today for my front speakers. They had different backing brackets, and didn't think they would work, but tried them when I got home and no problem. I wish the finish was a smooth black, but these won't show scratches, if they will even scratch. The finish is like the old speaker stands I used when I was in a rock band many years ago. I would highly recommend these stands. To bad they couldn't have made the screws and nuts black. All in all, GREAT STANDS!

Great stands, but be aware of speaker wire gauge

These stands are absolutely terrific. They were easy to assemble and offers different mount options for different speakers. The only difficulty I had was running the speaker wire since i was using 14 AWG. It was a little tough getting it through the upper tube since it's a little more narrow. Other than that, these stands are great!

    Good looking, quality materials

Good looking if you like flat black, which I do. Steel tube for the stand with a steel plate to park the speaker on. Nice heavy cast iron base. No plastic junk here. A bit fiddly for one person to put together, but I had all four of them together (I bought two sets) and the speakers mounted in about an hour. Comes with an angled and straight tube for the top, and a fair selection of mounting options. Carpet spikes in addition to rubber feet for the bottom are nice.

I bought my first pair and had to come back for the second pair. They are very easy to assemble and are very functional and can be used with many speakers. Small notch at bottom isnt very functional. however, that was not enough to stop me from buying them.

Fairly ease to assemble, results are sturdy and look good. Seems to have enough hardware to fit many different types of speakers. I judge these stands to be of good value.

I was amazed at how heavy the bases are. I put the angled poles on & put them behind the couch. Not that bad to assemble. I just used needlenose pliers to pull wire through hole. Moving speakers from endtables to these stands made a HUGE difference They work great.

Wish I wouldn't have bought this from Best Buy

Item came in box that looked like it was literally dropped from a 10 story building and then was taped up. Stands were not in best shape with dings and scratches. Looked like open box item. Ordered online. I paid for new, but got this. Shame on you Best Buy. Box had missing mounts. Was supposed to have two of each so that you could fit it for your particular speakers. With what i had I could only mount one speaker. I do like the stands and will exchange. But never expected this from Best Buy. I recommend the item, but not the seller.

I bought two sets for one for my rear (angled) and the front (straight). They make the surround sound that much more real. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. They are very sturdy and have pegs that you can attach on the bottom of the stand (if you want to) for even more stability on carpet. It is a great buy, I highly recommend them!

Good, but with a catch ...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First the positive - very solid in build and construction and thus very stable. They look good too - not cheesy or cheap. The negative - I have an Onkyo HTIB system and none of the many mounts available will work with my Surround Speakers without jerry-rigging things. I thought the L-bracket would, but with Onkyo the mount is at the top of the speaker, and Sanus expects it to be at the bottom of the speaker. They do provide double stick tape that you can use, but in a house with kids ... well, I just did not feel comfortable relying on double stick tape alone. Ultimately used a combination of double stick tape on a flat speaker plate that was put on top of the L-Bracket. I then took wire and strung up a connection between the top of the L-bracket and the mount on the speaker. So does it work? Absolutely. Rock solid, but you can see the back of the speaker and it loses that clean, professional look with my having to do this. (And yes, I'm sure I could have gone to a hardware store to get a bigger L-bracket, but it was late at night and frankly if Sanus did things right I wouldn't have had to [heck they give you enough other options]). So functionally it works very well but aesthetically it leaves something to be desired in my case with Onkyo speakers.

Sanus Hover - Adjustable speker stands

I agree with the points covered previously by reviewer SirWire. So, please read that review. (By the way, thanks SirWire). Here's some additional comments: I purchased these stands so that I could use them with my surround speakers (Athena AS-B1.1) (7 w x 9 1/2 d x 14 h) which according to various web sites, should be raised to about 2 to 3 feet over the listener's head for movies (and about head's height for music). The adjustable extension bar of these stands allows for that kind of flexibility, extending up to 58" over the floor. So, I've set the plate's height at 54". To attach the speakers to the plate I used high strength velcro strips sold at a Target store next to my local Best Buy store which have adhesive tape in the back, and they work very well. With these relatively large surround speakers, I have to use the straight bar extension. I watched King Kong (again) after I raised my surround speakers to 54" and I will admit that I like the surround effects much better now than when I had them at 33" (slightly above) ears height. Now the airplanes are really flying "over-head".

    Amazing Impact!!

I have had a surround sound system for 5 years but never considered using speaker stands. I figured I could just put my speakers on top of other existing furniture in my living room. Well, I finally decided to buy these stands and all I can say is WOW - I can't believe what I have been missing all this time. I specifically bought these for my rear speakers which up until this point were behind me on a table that was a little below head level. These stands allow the rear speakers to be elevated above sitting level and enables the sound to encircle me rather than bounce off my back! I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to be a part of the action.

    Awesome Speaker Stands

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My wife and I just moved into our new house and the first thing we did was set up the home theater system we got for our wedding. I did my research on the proper speaker stands to get for a "home theater in a box" set up, and we could not be happier with the Hover Foundation stands!!! Im puzzled why people are always so quick to "poo poo" home theater in a box systems. Everyone at our house warming was blown away by our system, and that praise was thanks largely to the Hover Foundation stands. Everyone was amazed at how realistic watching "300" became with all the sound effects seeming like they were flying over our heads! I never imagined that speaker stands could be the missing component i needed to have an impressive home theater. Hover Foundations were exactly what I was looking for!!!
