Looking at wall mounts at local BB and saw this! It is pretty heavy so I had Geek Squad assemble it and put my tv on it. It's perfect! Plus...it it's adjustable. Highly recommend. I should have put one in the bedroom instead of having the tv mounted on the wall.

The stand that came with the TV was too flat to the surface of our TV cabinet enclosure and we could not get fingers under the TV to lift, swivel or get behind it to dust. The Sanus base does an excellent job for what we need. It does take two men to install it on a 55" TV. Geek squad did a great job - worth the money for us.

In order to be stable, the swivel isn't extensive, but accomplishes enough range of viewing to make it a real asset in certain spatial constraints or with variable usage.

We were hoping for a much broader swivel. Furthermore, the base on this stand is HUGE and heavy. I suppose that gives you good support for the TV, but it took up too large of a footprint for where we wanted to put the stand, and with the limited swivel range, this wasn't for us.

Sorry to hear that! The 40 degree swivel range may nor be enough for certain scenarios. Apologies for that! The larger base is designed for stability and as a place for the SONOS Playbase and/or Playbar along with other sounds solutions so I understand why it may seem too large without them.
