Went it this open minded and I’m glad I did because it blew my expectations away. If you’re in anyway interested in an anime sci-fi type game check it out!

This game was a very pleasant surprise! I’m normally not into Japanese RPGs. The combat is amazing! I’m having so much fun playing it!

I really like this game a lot. The gameplay is fun and engaging and doesn't get old. The music gives off persona 5 vibes which is awesome since that game also is very good. The story is interesting and I'm excited to see where it goes. From a gameplay viewpoint: You use teleknesis to throw objects around at different enemies and you can also use your teammates powers to enhance your own. This keeps the combat engaging as you can change which teammates powers you are using in battle. This makes it fun to test out different combos to see which combination is best suited to handle different enemies. From a story standpoint: The story is treated more like a visual novel at some points where you have a still image of the characters in a scene and then they have the conversation on top. I don't mind this and thought this was a fun way to have the story be displayed. The story (so far) is very interesting. I don't want to give anything away so, I'll keep this vague. The story starts off as not super interesting but, then once something happens (you will immediately know when this happens) it gets very intriguing as story gets really crazy and draws me back. Along with the main story, you can talk with your friends to boost their bonus to you and your team. I like this a lot as it gives you greater insight as to why people are fighting or act the way they do. It's fun to see the interactions continue throughout the game. I also want to mention the side quests. They seem so far to be more or less pointless which kinda sucks. I felt that they could've given more story behind these quests instead of "go here and kill this enemy". Also the side quests are mega tedious, usually boiling down to "defeat these enemies in this way". I think it's trying to get the player to learn different ways to defeat opponents but, it's not very fun. Overall, if you want a fun hack and slash game with cool gameplay mechanics that has also has a good story, I think you'll enjoy this game.

The story has kept me engaged, and the graphics and art style are great, but the combat is quite repetitive. There is a bit of rock, paper, scissors with the different powers you can access, but that is as interesting as it gets. The action is fast paced and stylish, so it is still interesting to watch.

When I first saw the trailer of this game I wasn’t impressed so I didn’t expect much from it and I decided that I wouldn’t buy it. Best Buy had it on sale for an excellent price so I decided to purchase it and we all are satisfied because as it turns out it’s a good game. It has good challenges and it is a nice adventure.

This is a mixed bag. The concept is great but the execution is a bit off. The story feels uninspired and relies heavily on the two tier approach. The monsters are odd, somewhat juvenile in appearance. However, the action JRPG elements in the game are addictive. The UI design is clean. And the humans have drip.

This game has been an amazing experience so far. The game's story is incredible and both it and the characters really suck you into the game and make you want more and more until you finally have all the answers to the many mysteries in this game. The combat is fun and intense, the variety of ways you can go about fighting your battles and the interactive environments during said battles open up all kinds of possibilities. With two playable characters, there's two vastly different sides to the story to experience. You literally cannot get the full story without playing both sides/characters. So as much as you enjoy playing the game once, there's certain questions you'll have that will be answered by playing the other character. All-in-all, this is a fantastic game and I've been enjoying it immensely. I hope you enjoy it as well. :)

I absolutely love this game. While I enjoyed Code Vein and was expecting this game to play like that one, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is more like a Devil May Cry / Bayonetta type game in terms of combat. There’s an RPG style leveling system, plenty of side quests, and equipment menus. These never feel overwhelming or tedious, and are simple enough to navigate. Both the English and Japanese voices of the game are top notch, and you can tell Bandai Nampo spared no expense on voice talent. Finally, the story is great! I love dark philosophical stories (Anime such as Wolfs Rain, Ergo Proxy, Noein come to mind) and this game certainly addresses ethical and moral issues concerning free will that is rarely seen. Now if we could just get Nancy Bandai to make a Xenosaga HD collection, I’d be a happy man.

I pre-ordered this game as my first ps5 game purchase, so I paid full price of $60. It came with 2 weeks of funimation subscription (valued at 7.99$ per month), and I think it was ok. This game price dropped really quickly, which made me feel a bit salty about it. There's a motion blur that I really did not like that people said is due to the unreal engine and that it could be resolved on the PC version of the game. It honestly made me think the game was ghosting on my TV. Combat, while flashy, gets repetitive and incredibly annoying with the enemy target lock system. I spent a little less than 30 hours on the game (I definitely wasted a few hours of time here or there) and only played through Kasane's route. I don't feel compelled to play through Yuito's story. I don't regret playing the game, but buy it on sale at $30 or less.

When Scarlet Nexus was first announced I thought the game looked interesting but I didn’t consider it a must buy. However that all changed once the free demo was released. After playing the demo I fell in love with Scarlet Nexus sleek and fun combat and the characters I met and the world intrigued me enough to purchase it day one. My one concern I had was that the story would fall short or would be your generic anime story and boy was I glad to be wrong. The story is filled with twists and turns, excellent character development/growth and mysteries. In the end I really enjoyed Scarlet Nexus and the game is currently in my top 3 favorite games of 2021.

This JRPG was surprisingly good! You can choose one of two protagonists to start the game, doing a second playthrough you can play with the second protagonist which has a separate story entirely. The story concept is pretty interesting and doesn't make the characters feel dull and lifeless. The combat mechanics is very fluid and challenging. Using your party constantly to defeat unique monsters with different abilities is what I loved the most. This game includes a second playthrough where you can carry all your stats.

This game is amazingly good! At first i was thinking it’s just another anime game but i was just being ignorant and dumb. After watching gameplay and trying it myself i was blown away with the way the story is presented. The combat is exciting, the psychokinesis is the best part of the game. Although it might get repetitive after a while, i expect that to be a long while, the game is still very exciting to play. That’s cause I’m not much of an anime fan. The perfect game to follow up ratchet and clank once you finish it!!

A solid story, endearing characters and fun combat come together in a highly stylized package. The depth to the customization aspects was a welcome surprise as there is a decent sized skill tree and the ability to upgrade equipment and change your characters outfit and accessories. The last Namco game I played was Code Vein and this is a much more polished experience in pretty much every way. If you enjoy action rpgs and anime this game is a must.

Came in perfect condition. This game is amazing. If you're into anime you're going to love this game. The story is deep, complex and makes you wanting to know more and more. The controls during battle flow flawlessly. The power ups and weapons are amazing. Overall this game will definitely be a nominee for Game of the Year and JRPG of the Year. Bandai/Namco have made a beautiful game. Can't wait for the anime to start later this year.

Great game it is definitely one of my favorite games on ps5 so far plus it has two different stories the beginning can be kinda similar for the two stories but it kinda changes midway threw plus the combat in the game is great and addictive I also love that the game uses the ps5 triggers when using the psychic abilities so it has resistance in the triggers great game overall pick it up if you like jrpgs.

This game is different than I had expected going in. I knew very little regarding the story, and even less about the characters. Story wise, the game is an absolute trip. Many developments I was not expecting, and every cutscene is more and more fun. Combat wise the game is fantastic. Each additional ally adds another layer to the combat, and as you become closer with those allies via the bond system, it adds more techniques benefits to those allies. The combat is super fast, but not unwieldy. The bond system is fun, you can give gifts and have little cutscenes with each ally as you build your friendship with them. Their are real benefits to this system as each bond level increases their usability in combat. The game does have two different protaganists to choose from. Both characters have a differing perspective on the story with different allies available at the beginning. I have spent about 40 hours in the game so far, and have yet to beat it with the first protagonist. I am a completionist, however would say that if you are intending to play through both protagonists, it will likely run 60-80 hours of gametime. I would recommend the game, and suggest if you are interested to definitely take a look at the demo available on the PSN or Xbox Store.

I am currently on my 2nd playthrough of scarlet nexus(with kasane this time)the game has 2 characters and each has their own story. The art style is amazing(anime with a horror influence, they call it brainpunk)the music is incredible(i can't get the them song out of my head by the oral cigarettes "dream in drive")and the gameplay is tight and action based(makes you feel light a ninja and grows with levels as you become more powerful)this is one of the best games i have played and among my top games of the year. To me it does so much right and was exactly what i hoped it would be. If i had to list negitives...enemy's repeat designs throughout the game as well as levels(but some new ones show up if you play both campagins so it is a trade off)and i played the demo on both ps5 and ps4 and on ps4 at 30fps it was choppy and didn't play smooth(ps5 is definitly the way you should play this...if you can get one?)so it to me is a 9/10 other people have trashed it but i figure they are not jrpg fans or didn't like the style etc. I have played many games and genres over the years and this game is among the best and stands on it's own(unique)

I'm not usually one for Anime/JRPG type games, but this one grabbed my interest. So glad it did, this game is super fun!! Love the characters, story has sooo many twists and turns, combat has a learning curve but controls are super easy. Has a few dialogue/text errors, but the lines are delivered well regardless.
