    The HDHomerun Scribe provides the best picture quality I've found that streams your OTA programs over your internet to various devices. The device runs very cool to the touch so it's has well designed electronics. My frustration was with the Firestick App that I used to interface with the HDHomerun. The App needs some refinement which I'm sure will happen.

      Thanks for the review! Picture quality is one of the most important considerations for us, so we choose to leave the video stream 100% untouched until it is time to actually play it on your TV. The recording on your SCRIBE is exactly the same as when you got it from your antenna. As for the app, if you are speaking of the HDHomeRun app, feel free to join us in the Silicondust forum, where we are regularly updating the app and taking suggestions for improvements from the community.

    Very easy to set up with your home network. Very easy to use the DVR and program unless you're doing it from a Roku. The Roku interface is clunky and impossible to set up recordings. The controls with the Roku remote are not intuitive at all. On the other hand, it works great on an Android phone and the Xbox One. Both are easy to use and program recordings. If the Roku interface was better I would rate it 5 stars. One last thing, you do not have to set up an account until after 1 year. Your free year starts as soon as it connects to the internet. After that it is $35/year.

    I purchased this because we did not get local stations and now we do. I have to switch the input ( which my husband hate) but its great

    I bought this to replace an HD HomeRun Extend. My only issue with it is the fact that you can only view your DVR recordings by using the desktop app. You can't see your recordings in the filesystem nor can you encode them for use in other viewing apps.

      Thanks for the review! We're always looking to improve upon our products, and no where is that more true than with HDHomeRun SCRIBE. Right now the primarily effort is to make sure the SCRIBE is as easy to use and setup as possible for people who maybe have never had anything but a cable box DVR, but over time we definitely want to add more power features for people who will know how to use them!

    I've owned the HDHomeRun - SCRIBE QUATRO 1TB DVR - Black for almost a year now and besides the user GUI not being as user intuative as I would like, it is still running just as it did the day I bought it.

      We're pretty happy with the storage capacity ourselves. Did you know that one SCRIBE QUATRO can record every episode of Friends, and The Office, and Parks and Rec from all the many years they were showing, and still have room for more? It should last anyone a good long time!

    Got one of the first one of these. Plugged it into my antenna and router, and downloaded the app. The DVR was already working! I could start recording right then! I've set up a lot of DVRs in my life. This was by far the easiest to get started.
