This is a fast drive for a fair price. Included all necessary cables. WOrked like a charm and still working. No surprises. No muss, no fuss, no unpleasant bending, and I did not have to buy more space than was required.

Seagate disk drives just work. Simple to install, fast and reliable.

As a service tech, I replace many hard drives due to failure and a couple that begin to approach the drive's capacity. I've found the Seagate brand to be the most reliable. In the rare case a drive fails inside the warranty period, Seagate doesn't hesitate to send a replacement immediately. The price coupled with the reputation makes this purchase a no-brainer.

This drive installed with no issues. It is very fast and provides 500GB of storage.

drive works great, no problems with install or installing operating system. works 4x4...... Plenty room for what I use it for. Seagates have allways been stable and long lasting. I still have my first drive ever still running great. thats 25 years of service on an old 5400 rpm drive. What can I say they are the workhorse of our generation

A great cheap reliable hard drive. Also very fast and quite. Installation is very easy as it comes with everything you need for installation except for the computer of course.

Seagate really do make the best drives now. They have everything from the fastest speed to the lowest latency. They also combine SSD drives that have real-time access (due to the removal of seek time) with standard platter mechanism drives. The hybrid drives are excellent. Nonetheless, the Barracuda is a reasonably-priced piece of hardware that will drop into most desktops with the greatest of ease and the performance is outstanding. If you are looking to replace a hard drive in an office desktop PC for any reason, this would work very well at a minimal outlay.

The drive was easy to install, and easy to ghost my old drive to. Because my old drive was a 40 gb that was about 80% full, it booted very slowly. - and I couldn't defrag itt. This one makes my computer much more manageable.

The first thing you'll notice is that this drive is much slimmer that the previous generation. Once installed, which only took about two minutes, the drive spins up nice and quiet. The performance of this drive is roughly 20% faster than the one it replaced which was the same brand from a year ago and smaller capacity. This drive has been running 24/7 for over a month now without issue.

When storage needs are minimal, this is my go to product; great price and total dependability and/or reliability. I have purchased many of these over the years for my clients with nary a problem.

After my hard drive crashed, I was looking to purchase a brand new desk top computer. However, after talking with someone in the IT profession, he mentioned that as long as the remainder of the computer functioned properly I only needed to replace the hard drive. So I went down to Best Buy and found an employee who was very helpful, and suggested that I purchase this particular hard drive. I brought it home, and it was real easy to take out the old Hard Drive and replace it with this new one. I loaded all of the software on it and it is up and running just fine. It is working even better than the one that came with my computer when I bought it new.

My 6 year old hard drive died died in my HP desktop, seen this online(using laptop).Bought it and I more than doubled my hard drive space and was easy to install and a great price!

Buying this hard drive saved me from having to buy a whole new computer. It was easy to install and I haven't had any problems.

I have had this HDD in my gaming PC (which gets long hours of hard use nightly) since 2011. No issues at all. (I wanted an SSD. But the price for very little storage with SSD's is not cheap enough just yet). But this HDD drive is still going strong and it's the end of July 2013. Nice and fast too. So I bought this second identical drive for my Father in laws PC to replace his old smaller (over filled with pictures lol) HDD. The spec and size for the money cannot be beat. I am a stickler for the best deal. At the time I bought this HDD (back in 2011, and now again in 2013) this was and still is the best deal. Very happy!

Great Drive for an Everyday Computer, spins at 5400 rpm, has a decent amount of space for the price point.

I picked up this hard drive after my previous hard drive on a work computer crashed, and this one was very easy to install and fits my data storage needs. Good speed, fair price, straight forward installation and without too much unnecessary software that might come packaged with the hardware.

It has been a little more than three months since I installed the new Seagate 500 GB Internal SATA hard drive. This drive was a replacement for the aging HD that originally came with my desktop. First, the installation was very smooth. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Second, the reinstallation of Windows OS and rebuilding the drive contents went faster than expected...this new drive is much faster than the old one. Finally, I have had no issues or concerns with the new drive since installation. I have always trusted Seagate to produce quality equipment, and this new drive has helped support my confidence in their quality.
