In my experience, I have several seagates. I am a video professional, this is the only brand I trust.

My external drive is working perfectly. I love it. It's awesome

Works quite well with Time Machine. Small, Fast. Quiet.

I got this as insurance for my aging but well loved desktop. It's easy to install but the dashboard is very very confusing...I actually used my geeksquard membership (Which is TOTALLY worth it by the way) to bring an agent to my home and help set it up and do the first backup. I still dont think I know al lthe ins and outs but don't have the time to learn just yet.

The representative was very helpful in helping me decide what to buy. He was very friendly and great.

I was looking for a backup hard drive and found this for a great price at Best Buy.

I use the device for external storage with my Hopper. The set up was very easy. My Hopper recognized the device and walked me through the setup. Now, I can transfer movies and TV shows that I want to keep and not worry about filling up my Hopper storage. You can also access the external storage from all of your Joey's. The only catch is that you have to use your Hopper to make the initial transfer. No big deal, though. The Hopper will tell you how long the transfer will take and will allow you to watch live TV while you wait. The device is always plugged in and I have not noticed any issues with overheating. There is no noticeable lag time when accessing content from the device. The device does what is is supposed to do and I have no complaints.

It took a long time to download all the movies, but worth the time and money to have it saved.

Easy set up great for storage and backup. Does the job

I bought the Segate External Hard Drive to put my entire iTunes library on. After moving my library to the drive I was impressed as to how fast it operated. iTunes operates faster than it did on my internal hardrive without any issues. This is a great buy and find.

It is small, thin and totally plug and play. Best value.

Everything is as described, except you may have to download a windows driver from seagate website when using with both Mac and Windows

Runs super quite, better made than comparable WD models.

Packaged software is very useful. I wish it didn't have a proprietary cable connection though

Purchased this external HD for a destination of my time machine backups. This HD goes with me when I travel and sits on my desk when I am in town. Great looking, feels very strong and sturdy. For the price, features and overall look - this is a great buy.

I use this with my macbook retina for backup storage, my first USB 3.0 unit, blazing fast, ugly problem is that is forrmated for windows systems, so I had to reformat (use disk utility) and that´s all. It saves me lots of space on internal computer HDD. I´m very happy w/purchase.

The setup is easy for those who don't know computers that well. The one click backup feature is good for them. I would like to see more options to make a more complex backup schema like only update new files/files that have been modified since the last backup (incremental backups).
