I've been using this HDD for about 4 months and it has been excellent. It's my first Seagate hard drives that I purchased to back up sensitive information for a project I'm working on and I've found every feature to be easy to use. The encryption software is easy to set up and the hard drive itself is dependable. I have not experienced any of the issues the other reviews on here have complained about.

Decent storage for the price. Good for use as expanded storage for Xbox One.

It sync with the xbox one easy and has lots of space for games and extra stuff.

I was using a 2TB portable drive to keep my files, and was running out of space. The 4TB was the best $/TB at the time. This unit follows the power scheme of my laptop so it is active when my laptop is docked at work, and idle/powered down when i have to take it home. The read/write speeds are excellent and match USB 3.0 markings.

Great drive with tons of space, solid performance, and quiet operation. It's a little pricey on the front end, but if you figure the data capacity, it's actually a good deal. And Best Buy routinely runs them on sale. I preferred the case styling of the previous Seagate Backup Plus drives. The new styling more angular with harder edges. And I'm not sure why they felt the need to make the underside blue and asymmetrical. But that's all just personal preference, and it just sits on a desk anyway. A big plus to the new design is that they can now be laid down horizontally, which is much more stable.

After checking out several I'm glad I went with this one. Easy to use and a ton of space.

I've trusted Seagate drives for my Apple computers ever since I first found out that's what one of my computers had inside it. I tried a Western Digital before this one and had problematic prerformance keeping it as my time machine backup. This Seagate drive has been much better although sometimes my imac will not see it as the time machine backup and not do one. Usually a restart does the job of getting it back in order.

I bought this to do Time Machine on my MAC. I had never backed up so it was new to me and the 1 TB drive was full. I bought this 4 TB external drive due to the cost at the time. The most bang for the buck! It read very easily and easily partitioned and did my backup. Not big and it blends into the background. Great drive!

with 4 TB of Memory, this external hard drive has all the memory I need to transfer information from two obsolete computers. I have tons of music and video files from both, and this drive is robust enough to store it all and has plenty of room for more! I'm very happy with it ~ to say the least!

I bought this drive to store assets. As a graphic designer I have libraries of photos and artwork spread all over. This drive is giving me the opportunity to put them all in one place. A bit slow, but then, it says right in the name "Backup" so I wasn't expecting a fast drive. But it has all the room I should need for a good while. Plus, I always have trusted Seagate!

I bought this drive because of my lack of current storage. My backup drives were full, ones I thought had enough space to last a lifetime. Wrong. I was looking at the 2g but decided to just upgrade so I didn't have to deal with this situation again anytime soon. Backed up everything and the drive still has free space! I love the design of this that it allows the drive to breathe with multiple air holes. I use technology enough to be frustrated with electronics not cooling properly. So far it hasn't been overly warm with use! I made a good decision and I've had successful with Seagate in the past. I'd say go for it if you are looking for an upgrade!
