I bought this with the intention to use this for my Xbox One as external storage space! Well needless to say that didn't work at first. This drive will work with your Xbox One and you might not have to go through all the steps that I did but it will work! I first just tried plugging it in and seeing if it would work. Them I tried to partition it and that didn't work either. So I reformatted the whole thing into and Guided Partition Table(GPT) and then just plugged it in and it still didn't work. Now for the weird/tricky part. While the Xbox One is on I plugged in the hard drive and it didn't read at first. I unplugged and plugged it back in and now it works like a champ!!!! I have saved all my games and noticed that the load speeds off of USB 3.0 are a tad faster than off the internal. (I used a stopwatch and loaded the games several times to see a difference) The thing is amazing and this will last me for a very long time! I imagine that is will last me until the next gen of gaming consoles come out! Enjoy!

This drive was easily added on to my XBox One as its primary storage and it was much less expensive than some drives designed specifically for XBox. It's a huge amount of storage, well worth the buy.

The Seagate drive was a great price/Tb value. I've found Seagate to be very dependable and easy to set up. I never have enough storage for video and the 5 TB is a Wow! Very pleased with the unit so far.

You won't find a better External Hard drive for the Price. Small, sleek and quiet. Just has to be plugged in when in use, but that doesn't bother me 'cause I use it for my XBOX One. Awesome product.

Quiet, reliable, fast! I used this drive on a MacBook Pro i7, for years. I filled one up with large video files, and just purchased a new one. Slightly different case style, but still stackable, same 5TB, USB, and power adapter. I can push over 100MB/s (well over 800Mbps) to that drive while another drive is on the same USB 3.0 bus. Pros: - Fast sequential read and write - Quiet - No problems in 2 years. (Used the 2TB model for 5 yrs no problem) Cons: - Don't know. I Have not tested random seek latency and other stuff.

I use these Seagate drives for backing up musical performances that need to be archived but that are also accessible for using in compilation video projects. In the past, I've had disastrous drive failures and lost irreplaceable performances, so I began duplicating back-ups. 5 TB is a lot of data to lose if a drive fails. These Seagate drives are inexpensive enough to allow duplicating data and Seagates have always been reliable for me. I have edited video right off the drive although thunderbolt is my usual interface choice. Nice to know these Seagates have enough sustained speed to edit HD video/audio in an emergency! The price is perfect.

I use this HD for additional storage for my Xbox One. I had run out of HD space on my Game Unit, and this Unit has stepped up and filled the void that I needed for the additional storage space. After using an older 3TB model of Seagate Backup Plus and enjoying it, I was given this as a gift for Christmas in 2014. The speed and performance are great using USB 3.0. I receive speeds upwards of 100MB/s (Megabytes, not Megabits as is typically measure for network speeds). This means it can saturate a 1GB network if you are transferring, so the limiting factor in a typical home network will be your source or destination, not the hard drive. I like that it can also be placed flat instead of standing up on end, therefore you can stack them, much nicer that the vertical designs.

I held off composing this audit until my issues were settled. When I first setup my 5TB Reinforcement In addition to Drive I couldn't get the product to work of course. I reached Seagate bolster and got a snappy reaction with recommendations on settings for Windows 7 Star. I made the recommended settings yet at the same time had a product issue. A portion of the issues were no or ease back reaction to tapping on decisions. Reinforcements would stop after 8% was duplicated. I could read and keep in touch with the drive utilizing Windows Voyager so I felt the Dashboard programming was to blame, I reached bolster again and was advised how to download an updated Seagate Chief Programming which tackled every one of my issues. It offers significantly more choices then I will ever require yet it is likewise quick simple to utilize. I purchased ($170) this hard drive for use on my HTPC running XBMC. I currently have it sitting on top of my tower which is a SFF so it works fairly well. The drive performance is awesome! It houses all of my movies and TV shows. The transfer speed is great when using USB 3.0 and seems to work well for streaming 720p w/ 5.1 audio videos over USB 2.0. The amount of storage space should be sufficient for at least a few years! The hard drive does come with some onboard software for backups, but I haven't used it. Overall, I'm very happy with the size, speed, and footprint of the drive. Fortunately I'm not moving it anywhere so the external power supply does not bother me.

I bought this product to put all my electronic movie files on. I wanted one that did not need to plug into the wall. When I asked the sales person, I was told the drive received power from the USB. When I got home and opened the product, it has a power supply cord and MUST be plugged into the wall to receive it's power. Other than that, it hold all my movies and TV shows. It is half filled up and still adding to it! Great product, as long as you know it needs external power. There is a 4TB product that works without a power supply

Picked this up for about 150$ and turned my xbox 500gb hard drive into a 4.5TB hard drive in seconds. well worth the invest so easy to setup

I set it up for my Xbox One so it had larger space for games, Its was easy to set up and the Xbox One sees all 5Tb.

I bought this out of necessity. I had a seagate 1.5 terabyte portable hard drive and it was great. It was just full. Transferred all my movies and shows, plugged it into my Xbox one and it plays all my files without a problem. And still have a 3 terabytes of room which should last me almost forever. Only inconvenience is the power plug but it's a small thing in the long run for such a great working product.

This 5GB drive is very reliable and performs great when using USB3.0. The price is extremely reasonable for the amount of storage

Very easy to set up with outstanding storage capacity. It was also very affordable. We Seagate products never disappoint .

I needed to expand my array of storage from a 2TB and 1TB Drive to at least 5TB total. After buying this drive I was able to easily format and partition it using my iMac software. Now I have a "poor man's" storage array consisting of this 5TB drive and a reallocated 2TB drive and enough expansion room for all my raw picture and video files. All critical data is on at least two physical drives. So far, this drive has performed to my satisfaction.
