And once again they have not let me down. This is the 5th drive over a terabyte that I own. One is over 4 years old now and still working great. I use them for backup drives, the newest is always my daily backup and the others are used for weekly and offsite monthly. This newest design in 3tb is the quietest so far and the USB 3.0 interface is fast! I recommend this. Great price too!

We have been looking for a hard drive for our Mac and came across this for a decent price. The setup was easy and it works with time machine on our Mac to automatically back up data every night.

Cheap, large capacity, quick and sleek. I dig this drive, i'm using it for an external hard drive for my playstation 4.

I re-partitioned the 3gb using Disk Utility on my MacBook Pro (Yosemite 10.10). I made a 2 gb parition for the Mac and a 1 gb exfat partition to work on a couple of Window computers. After Disk Utility partitioned and formatted the drive, Time Machine started by itself and asked a couple questions to get it running on the MacBook Pro. Later, I disconnected from the Mac and hooked it to a Win 7 box. It turned out I had to re-format the 1 gb partition on my Windows 7 computer. After that I backed up some of my files and then reconnected to the MacBook ... where Time Machine keeps making backups.... Seems to be working well.

I attached it to Mac desktop and it immediately asked me if i wanted to run Time Machine which I did to back up computer. I turned off Time Machine to prevent multiple copies filling up drive. I copied my other usb drive files over to this new drive with easy. It is very quite when it runs while copying files to it. I am glad I waited several years to buy a disk drive for my Mac cause this one it perfect.

I needed a fast, reliable external hard drive with a lot of space. The Seagate 3TB 3.0 hard drive more than satisfies my needs.

Great product, which can hold tons of items from your computer. Just plug into your computer and go. The price was a great value also. Only drawback is that you need to plug it into socket for power. All the other external hard drives I've had ran on the computer's power, but this is no biggie.

I have a MacBook Pro and was very interested in purchasing a HDD that would immediately be able to back up my Time Machine without any re-formatting. This HDD did it for me! I highly recommend it for anyone looking to purchase a reasonably priced HDD that is immediately compatible with Macs.

This product is perfect for anyone that wants to quickly and easily setup Time Machine on their Mac product, or even back up their system in general. The amount of space provided, and the good quality of the recent Seagate products make this storage device well worth the cost. This drive was easy to set up and works perfectly with the Mac Time Machine application. I had a previous Seagate drive that was wireless and I could only get to work with the Memeo software; the performance was awful. Happy to have this new drive, with plenty of storage and a simple, efficient back-up process.

I was looking for a storage to retrieve about 500MB worth of files stored in another machine (iMac 2011 - no USB 3.0 but comes with a Thunderbolt port) that crashed recently to a MacBook Air (2012 - with USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt) Initially considered La Cie's portable Thunderbolt storage and other Thunderbolt based solutions. But they were all quite expensive. Did some research online and this one was rated for good performance and price point. Installation was a snap and USB 3.0 was fast enough to keep up with files being copied from a Thunderbolt-connected machine. I was able to salvage all the files overnight (probably took about 4-5 hours?) Now the drive will be a new media storage/archive for my laptop. Mission accomplished. Didn't need to spend too much on it. Quite pleased with it.

Easy , fast, Quiet , good price - let's see how long it last. I've always bought LaCie drives , I was surprised to see the seagate was made by them.

I purchased this hard-drive to use the time machine on my MAC. Very easy set-up, was up an running and doing my first back-up in under 10 mins. The machine is quite and very slick looking.

I needed a drive ASAP because my mac was telling me that I should re-format or replace it soon (new feature in Yosemite). Went to Best Buy and thought, this drive has everything I want, USB3, plenty of storage, but the bonus was that it would look good on my desk next to my Macbook Pro. The aluminum color of the drive looks light aluminum, but in reality, its is more of a platinum color (it actually matches my Platinum Beats Headphones almost exactly). I know this is being picky from a storage drive, but I'm picky, why do they all have to be so ugly plastic like?

I can't express how important it is to always be prepared with extra back up space on hard drives , I love these drives with my i mac , never a problem always a solution .

Works great, even with my Mac. Nice size at a good price. I partitioned some for backups and have plenty of space for general storage as well.

This backed up my MacBook with no problems. I heard it would work well and all I needed to do was plug it in, identify the new device for Time Machine and it managed the rest without any difficulties. It did exactly as it was advertised and without my having to fight with format differences. I also have a PC and will probably buy another Seagate product to backup that one. I love it!

This. Thing. Is. AMAZING. I had previously purchased a seagate external hard drive and this completely solidified my feelings for the company. It's literally a monster. What I loved most about it is the partitioning settings are SUPER easy to use. The only drawback, if i had to pick one, is that it HAS to be plugged in to a power source. Completely understandable considering it's capabilities though. Love it.

Good price for a backup hard drive. I don't do anything with it other than use it as a time machine for my mac. Does a good job.
