8 tb is a lot of space so hope its a lot for my wife

So Far I've had no problem with the 8TB drive but I have had 2 each of the 3TB drives crash this year. Both of those drives were not much over a year old. I am still recovering files from the 3TB drives but it does take quite a bit of time for the software to rebuild files from an almost full 3TB drive.

This backup drive sets up quickly and easily. Access to my files is very simple. Just click on the drive in the file manager and everything is there. The automatic backup means that here isn't anything to do after the initial setup. It's nice to have this extra layer of protection even though I have a raid1 setup already.

I bought this over a month ago, and this hard drive is great. I use this to backup multiple computers and even made a few folders to act as share points to share files. It's a great product from a great company. I could not have been happier with my choice to purchase this product.

The Seagate 8TB drive has actually 7.3TB of usable disk space. I have connected it to my Netgear Nighthawk X8 router and am using it to store backup data from several Windows computers and an Apple IPad via Netgear desktop and Netgear Apple software.

I tested this new backup drive, average speed 18-20mb/s, maximum speed 30mb/s. I have a new motherboard with usb 3.0 ports, I don't know how to make the copy speed near 80-90mb/s or even higher.

I've had the drive for about six weeks and am using it to keep a backup of music on another external drive. There have been no problems or hiccups thus far. The drive seems to work about 10-25% faster than my USB 2.0 drives, but this is a guesstimate. Accompanying instructions are sketchy at best.
