not understanding the product

I have installed it onto my lap top but it says it has an error. When I went to back-up some info, it backed it up. It still says that there was an error in installing. How can it be that there's an error in installing and yet it backed up my info?

Not being computer savvy, the product didn't come with enough instructions to understand what it was doing and how to get the most out of the product. The instructions that were given also didn't resemble what I encountered on my PC. I didn't have the choice to download some program that is supposed to be on the portable hard drive or disk. I wasn't instructed how to check if the information recorded. To back-up my window's OS partition is only aloud once. I'm not sure I have the basic information wasn't required to set my computer back to factory specs. Also trying to download this section of the computer's hard drive, the computer didn't see the USB memory drive. I couldn't put it on the same memory drive. I had to use 5 DVD disks instead. I used less than the 500GB on the product. It is useless to have bought that large of memory capacity if I can't use it. I am sure the product performed flawlessly. I'm sure it is me that has the problem. But for us dummy's, we need more information to use it.

I had to have the Geek Squad install it.
