I needed an external drive to save a windows 8 back up image. Plug it in, and it works. It's fast enough for my usage. I haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability.

This is a great hard drive plain and simple, nothing too exciting about it, nice to have the same look as the macbook pros.

Unfortunately, it was too small for my hard drive and Time Machine stopped working on it. I would recommend a bigger drive if you are using it for Time Machine back ups.

I had headaches worrying about keeping a regular back-up on my Computer, I no longer have headaches this portable drive has solved my problems and worries.

The memory is big and stores a lot of my work documents. I have not worked a lot with any of the stored documents yet so will see about that.

You cannot go wrong with an external hard drive thats actually built by a hard drive manufacturer like Seagate as opposed to some case builders.

Anyone can use easily. The hardest step is getting it plugged in. (Am I the only person who can't plug in a USB cord upright on the first try?)

My PC crashed and I did not have my pic's backed up. I knew I needed a backup drive and the sales guy at BB suggested this one. It's great!

I did not have a back up unit earlier as I thought they would be too expensive and hard to use, but I was mistaken and sorry I did not purchase this item sooner

This is wonderful for expanding capacity, but also for keeping special files like photos, music, videos safe in a separate storage.

With this drive and SuperDuper backup software, I have a no-hands bootable backup solution for my MacBook Air that can't be beat!

It's great and fast, the seagate backup is also quite durable, i've dropped it a few times and still works perfect.

I now have a full backup of my system. In the past, I backed up data files. The true test is a restore, which I haven't done and don't intend to do, now.

Had a little trouble with the software but Customer Service helped me fix it.
