Works great and is a major bang for the buck. I use it for storage of files which frees up my internal drive to run programs and web browsing. Makes everything run faster.

This is the portable version, which means no addition AC power supply needed, everything is powered by USB. Portable also means smaller compared to the AC powered external HDDs. Maximum capacity for portable HDDs right now is 1TB compared to 3TB for AC powered external HDDs. Besides media files, this is also perfect for backups, documents, etc., and if you have a laptop equipped with SSD, you'll gonna need more space and this is perfect. So far so good, no problems at all. Used it on my old HP laptop with usb 2.0 port, works good (slower transfer speed of course). Used it on an alienware m14x with usb 3.0 port, works good again and now with fast transfer speed. Used it on my LG 3dtv to watch full hd movies saved on the drive and it works great! I hope it stays like that, can't comment on the reliability yet..

This is my second seagate, the last one I bought back in 2009? I think! At least over a decade ago. It was also 1TB, but about 8x bigger and heavier than this. It could fit in your pocket, but I keep mine at home in a drawer. I do store some things in the cloud but I feel much more secure keeping many of my files on something 'real'! I have a laptop, so I keep most my old music files, photos, and also some games on this drive. I play GTA and the sims off the drive with no issues and so far have not had any problems with it at all. It's great to have that extra storage and it's really great value.

I've only had this Seagate Expansion 1 TB external hard drive for a short time, but I haven't had any problems with it so far. It worked straight out of the box as soon as I connected it to a USB port on my Windows 7 desktop computer. I chose this hard drive in particular because it was one of the most affordable in the 1 TB category and was compatible with Win 7, which was essential since I'm using it to back up an older machine. The data transfer rate isn't lightning fast, but it's comparable to the Western Digital hard drive that the Seagate is replacing, so I have no complaints. Good value for the money!

Got this as a gift for someone, great for adding to your x box one and loading ALL your games and still having room. Makes your x box faster without everything loaded on it. Also can be formatted for photos and music and so much room!

I purchased this external hard drive to help transfer my files from my old laptop with windows XP that I was trading in for a new Windows 8 laptop. I've never owned or used an external hard drive before. It was super easy with this product. I just hooked it up through the USB port on my old laptop and then dragged items into the hard drive window. I had a few document files, but mostly a lot of music files from iTunes. I did the transfer right there in the Best Buy store. The document files transfered instantly. I have A LOT of music files, I'm not sure the amount of data, but it took about 15 minutes to transfer all the music files. Keep in mind that my old laptop has the older USB port, not the new super fast ones. I have not hooked up the hard drive to my new computer yet and transfered any files to that yet. But I anticipate it will work fine.

Tons of storage and performs almost as well as your C drive

Extremely easy to use and so far no complaints. Time will tell. I had a big desktop Seagate electric model for ten years before it went bad (luckily I had warning) so hopefully this model WILL be as good. This one is alot slower but doesn't require electric connection cord and I am patient enough for the lag time. So far so good.

I originally chose this one for the price and reviews and am glad that I did. Its very small and compact which is great to have. I was a bit worried about using it on my Mac because the box says it is for PC but I looked online about how to reformat it and I was able to use it! A great way to store all my iphone pictures on it.

This storage device is small yet holds tons of space!

I needed an simple and cost effective device to back-up my files. This was on sale, in-stock and fit the bill. It was easy to use. It is USB 3.0 and it does come with the proprietary USB 3.0 cable necessary to plug into your current port.

Purchased this drive to use as an eternal source for cloning and holding an image for a large hard drive. The physical size, easy of use, large storage made this a good investment. I've since found comparable drives with twice the storage, 2TB, for the same price. Would have been nice to get more, but 1TB will suffice. You can't go wrong purchasing this device.

These little drives are just the ticket for critical data backup or just redundancy. They are small and inexpensive. The newer operating systems load the drivers automatically. It doesn't get much simpler.

We all need that extra space for our Ps4. This thing is easy to install plug in and your ps4 reads it as external hard drive put ues and your good to go. YouTube if you have anything question but it's easy. I have already downloaded 5 games to it and have plenty of storage still.

I purchased this hard drive to store photos. I am an amateur photographer and have TONS of photos that I wanted to back up. I believe I've backed up over 12,000 so far and i have used hardly any room on the hard drive. The set up was incredibly easy. Downloading is extremely fast as well.

I own a slim model seagate drive and was impressed with the dual capabilities of working between mac and pc. I ordered this model for my parents to keep old photos and videos backed up, and my mother was able to use it without asking for any help. Perfect for anyone to manage
