I own a slim model seagate drive and was impressed with the dual capabilities of working between mac and pc. I ordered this model for my parents to keep old photos and videos backed up, and my mother was able to use it without asking for any help. Perfect for anyone to manage

This external hard drive was just what I needed as a secondary backup for my desktop. Even though I knew it was going to be small, I was still surprised by just how small it was when it showed up. Very lightweight, too. There's not much to it. I definitely wouldn't put it through any high impact situations, but on my desk it's fine. The USB cord that comes with it could be longer, but I guess it's kept short for portability with laptaps. I own another Seagate external hard drive that I've confidently used for *many* years, so that's why I opted for this brand again. Hopefully this new drive will also be with me for the long haul.

The instructions were a little skimpy. Just connect it to a USB port, 3.0 if you have it. No mention of a setup program on the drive or how it would benefit the user. I have not visited the website to decide whether to use the set up. I plan to use it straight.

I needed some external storage in a hurry and I bought this drive on Best Buy online and picked it up in the store. It came with everything I needed and it was up and running in no time at all. Everything about it works great. Highly recommended.

Excellent drive. I needed to back up some files on my laptop so I went with a cheap one but saw the 1TB option wasn't much more. So I was able to setup some partitions and now have all my computers backed up (the important files at least) and some emergency boot disks that u was able to use to revive my MacBook Pro as a bonus!

I would recommend this product to others and it will work well. It holds a lot of information and easy to access your information when needed. I am glad that I purchased this item and great value for the priced paid. Thank you for Seagate for always putting products on the market of such great value!! I just LOVE IT!!

It's a great external at an amazing price. If there was a 5tb I would have bought it.

I have used Seagate before so I knew and felt I was buying a quality product. It's a plug & play HDD formatted for Mac so, other than working like every other HDD, there really isn't much to report. It's quiet and fast. Actually I was impressed at how fast it moved data. I only have experience with powered Ext HDDs. This was my first USB powered HDD. I would buy it again. The only thing that sort of bothers me is the cable connection at the unit itself. Although it seems to connect well, there is some play they makes me feel uneasy. However, it hasn't spontaneously unmounted itself or had data transfer issues. Then, there is the design issue. Seagate designed the whole back end of the unit (where the cable attaches) to be removed. Which further adds a variable between data and disk. I have not researched this yet but it seems as if the unit may have been designed to be configured to plug in like a cartridge into some larger device. However, there was no documentation of this anywhere. I'm not dissatisfied because of these design issues, just curious. The only thing I would recommend is to handle this unit even more gingerly than you would the average external unit, and disconnect the the cable when not in use.

I've been using my Seagate hard drive for about a month now and it's been perfect! It's small and very lightweight, yet it feels durable. Not "cheap" feeling, ya know. So far so good, no problems or any issues!

I need a second one for doing a mirrow image, and this one has plenty of space, plus affordable and compact. Love it.

The best external for downloaders Who find themselves running out of space over and over and over and have to erase files with this external drive you don't have to erase your files anymore.

Perfect hardware for my ps4. The extra space is useful for the games I have to install. It does not over heat and does not randomly disconnect. Totally worth it.

I use this drive to backup my laptop computer. It works great and makes me feel safer knowing that if my computer dies one day, all my files will be safe and accessible.

Works with MAC which my family uses (I am PC/Droid)...made backing up her MacBook easy and BB shipped quick as usual.

A bit smaller then i imagined but so far so good as it stores alot of my movies, music and pictures. The size actually came in handy. "Out of sight out of mind."

I like Seagate drives but I did not like the Backup plus drive. It had the backup software and would try to install everytime it saw a new port or computer. This drive is just plug and play and it doesn't try to install software

Easy set-up, great capacity; excellent price. I should have bought two!

I bought this item as expanded storage space for a gaming system. I now have abundantly more space so that I can play a number of games.
