Does its job for the price point

Does its job. But it makes whirrs and makes too much noise compared to a WD Easydrive that I also own. While it's whirring up, explorer also freezes until it finishes loading (even when I'm not trying to open the drive). It's cheaper than that model, so I guess that's the tradeoff

My husband installed this last Friday for my mother. It turned on and all and then it just completely stopped working it’s making a weird sound and the computer won’t recognize the item.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

UPS informs me they have an empty box. I online chatted with BB and was told basically the same thing--we don't have the item you paid for. Attempting to get my account credited. Not nearly as easy as the buying experience. Wonder why?

should have listened to reviews and bought a wd. already failed makes noise like a automatic machine gun.

UPS shipped it and everything is fine

As expected. I will say though, unlike other drives that you can remove/shuck, this one voids your warranty. I guess I'll have to stick with WD for my future drives. Still giving it 5 stars just because the drive works intended, I got a killer deal, and experience was great.
