    Reliable Cloud Solution

I have all my data backup on this hard drive. It saves time and money by centralizing your data. However I only turn this unit ON when I really need it. I live in Florida and lightning is a serious thing here, If you don't have a power protector don't risk your data!

Seagate 3Tb personal cloud works well locally.

Personal cloud 3Tb works well locally, but is difficult to use with an iPad or iPhone due to limited sorting. Also, folders are not honored remotely, so if you have more than a few hundred pictures, finding a specific photo is time consuming. However, it works well to centralize data storage amoung multiple PCs on the same home network.

This was good up until I upgraded my macbook pro to mavericks, and couldn't use it anymore. I had the hardest time getting my music and movies out of it in order to return it. I would recommend for pc users.

To be honest I've not yet wrapped my head around the most efficient way to use this. I have a ton (several thousand, anyhow) of 10" to 30" video shorts so my plan was to move them all to this NAS and then use either Roku Media Player or Plex on my Roku 4 to select and view videos at random or in playlists and so on on my TV through a Roku-based interface. This method seems horribly slow and at times frankly unreliable - I'm told a video can't be played, etc. However, if I access the NAS drive directly from my MacBook Pro & double click any video it promptly begins playing on my computer. So I guess I'll just mirror my MacBook Pro to my gorgeous LG OLED TV which still regularly causes me to salivate. Unless, of course, someone more technologically astute than I can suggest how to use the drive with the Roku 4. Thank you for your time.

This cloud was on sale when I bought it, I was looking at a different brand but decided on this one because of devices it specifically said it supported to be streamed from. Still has a problem showing up as a drive on the newest Mac OS but still a great buy with good tech support to help

Its a nice way of storing without any cables, but it is very slow to transfer, especially big files (movies/videos) it takes forever and most of the time gives you a communication error.

This online personal cloud is fantastic. Runs Cool and fast, simple to setup and more secure than i expected. I am an IT professional and have setup many personal clouds as well as business clouds, and this was the best experience as far as ease of use and explaining to a client.

Bought this for my daughter to replace a failing USB external hard drive. Have used - and still using - both the Seagate and WD NAS and prefer the Seagate. Refrained from setting up the "cloud" features; however, setup up of the video, music and documents to an all-in-one central location was straight forward and now easily accessible from either my daughter's laptop or Surface. Did take advantage of installing the backup application to routinely backup both devices. There are other applications available (i.e. WordPress) for install but as to why it is available on a NAS device is beyond me. Finished up by turning off the unnecessary services, locking it down, and making it available for my daughter until my next (IT maintenance) visit.

Nice cloud storage for a reasonable price, better price per terabyte than it's competition. Pretty easy setup, though I haven't tried certain features yet.

A great way to add 3TB to your network. Literally took me 5 minutes to get up and running. I use it for extra storage and as a Time Machine backup.

The unit works. Seagate support was excellent. I got on the phone with little wait and they were very helpful getting the NAS set up. Caveats: it is a bit more complex than expected (hence the need for support). The unit has a USB port but do not expect to download your files to the unit at the speed of a USB drive. For a TB your first loading will be an overnight process. Access on your network is fast enough to stream HD movies. Remote access over the internet via Seagate SDRIVE does work, but it is slow and you must be patient even to see your directory structure. .
