I like that you can have a personal cloud but I wish the hard drive had a way to access to transfer files thru manually inserting a wire to the device. Seagate needs to improve on the app and the hard drive performance

this does everything that a time machine would, for a fraction of the price. cloud storage, accessible anywhere in the world, automatic backups

Recommended by Best Buy staff. Too complicated and difficult to use to simply back-up my photos and files from my hard drive. All I really needed was an external hard drive or similar device that connects to my computer.

I have tons of movies in digital format for travel and this makes it easy to store and manage from anywhere using wifi

We needed to move this out of our bedroom- the drive fires up occasionally and makes so much noise that it woke me up. Otherwise seems fine.

Very convenient options for USB direct or Nas. I haven't tried all the multimedia features. Price is reasonable.

I now don't have to pay a monthly service to do my remote file sharing work and I feel that my files are safe.

Product is good and works as advertised. Lack of a Raid drive configuration was an issue for me. That feature is so critical today that it should almost be the minimum standard.

Personal cloud is no longer a thing of the future it is here now. I purchased a Seagate personal cloud and it was good. Not as functional as others but satisfactory enough.

this thing works! now i no longer have to pay for server backup of my personal files.

This is my first NAS drive so I'm still getting used to how everything works but it's wonderful!

My husband loves it and says it's exactly as advertised. Functions well and runs perfectly.

Good price and does what it says. The software and app for my phone works very easy.

In reality this personal cloud is more like another hard drive. It is not very easy to use when sharing between computers if you are a novice like I am.

I'm a fairly tech savvy guy and while this was in fact a challenge to set up, I do feel that it's a good idea...just a not so great EXECUTION to go along with it. I have a lot of stuff so it took probably 4 hours to setup, partially because its void of nearly ALL INSTRUCTIONS! First mistake! I added a "guest" feature during the setup process but for some reason 90% of my stuff would sync there FIRST! Why on earth would I want personal things to sync there?! Thats why its for guest and thanks to no manual I couldn't change it outside of resetting the whole thing and starting over! Second mistake!! Some devices would mysteriously drop connection or at times take multiple attempts to connect at all and then other times it would seemingly connect instantly! Third mistake!! Well folks, third times a charm...it got returned! CANNOT RECOMMEND!

Got this for a whole house backup of our systems. Works great.

And able to back all PC's and Mac to device including phones and tablets

Fills my needs and meets product requirements. Easily retrieves data

Ok but not as easy to setup as WD MyCloud. Ended up returning the item and using the My Cloud instead. Segate could do better
