This is by far one of the best external hard drives available!

Seems to be unreliable. Back-ups often fail before completion. "Back-up Failed: Reason Unknown", impossible to troubleshoot root cause of failure. No easy way to verify the back-up that does complete successfully. I tried adding files to folders that were in the back-up plan, the files I added did not appear in the back-up file. The only good news I see here is you can browse the back-up folders.

Does a great job backing up all three computers on my home network.

This product was extremely complicated for me to understand how to use it. I wanted to store my pictures on it but I just couldn't figure it out. I had to return it. It may have just been above my level of understanding of what this product is capable of doing. The salesman wasn't very helpful when I was trying to decide what to buy.

To complicated unless u own a smartphone. Does not work well for laptops.

Overall it is functional, but it is difficult to keep track of how much space is used on it. Also, it only has a little over 3T, so not even close to a 4T drive as advertised. All in all you would be better off just buying an external hard drive instead of this.

Returning the drive. The set up was somewhat easy, but the product just did not work. Once all of the online setup was complete, I was instructed to connect the drive to our computer. The USB device was not recognized. I made sure it wasn't the ports on my computer by hooking up other devices using the same cable and others. Everything else worked. I hooked it up to a different port, still would not recognize. Seagate customer service made the same suggestions that I had already tried. I see no need to keep trying. I don't think I will be giving them another shot.

You cannot copy very long files names to this device. It errors out and prohibits them. I tried consolidating all my external HDs to this device but kept getting errors.

I bought this because of what it said could be done. The drive worked but could not get it to connect remotely for the Android app. I spent several weeks with Seagate trying to get the porblem soved before they told me to return it. Best Buy's return policy is so short in terms of time for returns, I had to return it to Seagate instead. Both a bad experience for me from Seagate and Best Buy.

Slow. takes a while to sync files, not really a set up I expected.

It's good for saving photos, but the organizing is non existent.

Not a good buy. Very slow and Best Buy has no clue how to setup and use. I will probably return it or burn it.

Product sitting on the side. Cant get help and it doesn't back up files.

I bought this to use with the Plex app and the new AppleTV. It works pretty well although not quite as fast as a PC for streaming movies. The setup was a little tricky because it wanted to use 192.x.x.x IP scheme and my home network is 10.x.x.x. Eventually I gave it a static IP based on the MAC Address; in other words you'll probably need to know something about computers to mess with this thing if it doesn't work right out of the box for you. One thing I did want to mention: I read in another review somewhere that this wouldn't work if you didn't have it connected directly to your router...that's simply not true. I have it connected to a switch which is then connected to my router and it works fine. :)

great storage and cloud based items. application by mobile phone could be a little better in accessing the files, but still as good.

very convenient to be able to back up everything from any apple or windows device. cost a little more then previous models and the competitors but is completely worth it.
