Got tired of the continuous Apple notifications that our storage was full and didn't want to pay the extra monthly charge to increase it. This was easy to set up and link to our phones and laptops. It connects to Google Chrome cast so we can share videos and pictures on family TVs.

I purchased after comparing with few other rivals in the same category. I found this person cloud drive more compatible with in-house & online services than any other; moreover, it has 'no-brainer' setup... over & above BestBuy's price match policy is awesome...love it!!

Was looking for a very large external drive and found this product on Best Buy's site. Compared it with some others. Also like Seagate, based on past experiences with 2 external drives. When it arrived, turned out to be something else altogether. A personal cloud storage, whatever that means. No USB cable, turns out this is supposed to work with my wifi router. Had to loop back with my companies office tech support and even he had not used one. Documentation was miserable. Finally found something online at Seagate and printed it out, about 70 pages long. Still not had time to set this thing up and concerned that I don't want my personal date on the cloud. Only suggest you buy this product if you know what you are getting into. For personal storage it's not a good product.

It works well so far. It's very easy to use. The only knock on it was that I got disconnected a few times.

Bought the device to use its features as a NAS and for pictures and video. The performance is very poor and it takes forever to load up pictures am yet to be able to view videos. No problems with my network, I have gigabit speed. The device itself seems very slow. Have done all the recommended firmware updates. Would not recommend this to anyone.

It's a excellent drive that lacks user to easily backup video files. Hopefully Seagate resolves these issues and improves the interface. Currently users must access files/videos from inside the drive to manage pictures and videos. I quizzed the Geek squad to avoid these problems...I should have investigated these issues myself. Workable but clumsy for my needs

Great way to save family photos and videos. Am in the process of copying 60 albums and 175 videos for the family. Love that I can put them all in one spot for safekeeping. Ease to organize them and duplicate make this a much easier task.

I have a custom rig with multiple hard drives that I was looking expand to the cloud. The Seagate looked promising as I was looking for a cloud environment to store photos and files to access anywhere. After purchasing and setting it up I quickly found out that the transfer speeds are incredibly slow and eat up enormous amounts of bandwidth on my home network. The interface isn't very friendly and its hard to quickly access what I need. In the end I reverted back to Amazon Prime Photo to store my pictures and use the Seagate primarily for backup only. Even the backup options are limited. Within a month I used up all 4gb of space because of the replicated data from the backups. I'm not sure why the Seagate wont allow me to just backup the new or changed files and store it in one backup file. Instead I have to have a backup file for each time it runs. The technology isn't quite ready for the mainstream but if your looking to store data on a large drive that you can access from anywhere but not need it daily or quickly then this is the perfect option.

Love this. 4TB handles everything in the house. Just like another drive on the computer when in the house. Accessible via the web when I'm out and about. Not super fast streaming, but ok for my uses.
