I needed to pull 60 gigs of irreplaceable data off my work Windows laptop to ensure no loss during a system repair and restore. I also needed a backup drive for my MacBook. Two birds--this drive works with both. I got my data onto the drive from the Windows machine, fixed the problem with the Windows machine, and transferred back really quickly and easily. Now it's my MacBook backup. The drive has worked flawlessly so far, and since I have used a Seagate FreeAgent drive as a backup for my Windows workstation for more than a year with no issues at all, I don't expect any issues with this drive either. All this at an unbeatable price.

This is a great small, easy to use portable even, external hard drive. Simple to get started. Would easily fit in your bag or purse if needed to transport somewhere. Way better than those bigger, bulkier external drives.

Great price and works great as an additional Time Machine backup. Partitioned the hard drive and used one to install an operating system to use as a bootable hard drive. Small size allows easy transportation and storage.

i was looking for a compact, portable external hard drive to use with my laptop. this Seagate Slim answers all my needs. It is quiet, good looking and for a non-tech type person it was very easy for me to hook up and use.
