I bought this to replace my 10 year old FoodSaver that finally gave up. I debated on getting a new FoodSaver brand, but I really wasn't interested in their large higher end models (Best Buy didn't offer the entry level one). I had a $20 reward certificate from Best Buy so I took the chance on the Seal-A-Meal. The Seal-A-Meal is smaller and more compact than my old FoodSaver. The construction seems solid.I only have the need to freeze raw meats and cooked left-overs, so not having a vacuum accessory port isn't an issue. I still use the good FoodSaver bags and the Seal-A-Meal works like a charm. It has a "hands free" light that tells you when the suction is high enough to keep itself closed without any pressure. The sealing cycle is longer than my old one which works much better. The suction is strong, and overall the product works great. There is a slight learning curve to getting the best end result (as with any vacuum sealer) but once you figure it out you'll find yourself sealing everything. I'm very happy with this and I have absolutely no regrets. For the price you can't beat it.

We use the sealer for light home use as intended. It is easy to operate and really does a good job for the price. Items need to be dried as much as possible or excess fluid will be pulled into the seal area and the vacuum will not hold. All in all it works very well.

The Seal-A-Meal has worked well for preparing both meats and fresh fruits for freezing. The machine is easy to use, but cutting the right size bag can be a challenge. Sometimes it turns out to be too big, but I've more often ended up cutting it too short. As I've only been using the Seal-A-Meal for about a month, I don't know yet how well it will keep the foods frost-free over a longer period of time.

This does exactly what I wanted it it do. I am able to use it to keep my food fresh longer. I'm single and buying food for one person isn't always easy. This makes it better for making food last longer and not wasting money. I'm very happy with this purchase!

This unit is quite simple, both in presentation and operation. Very easy to use and does a great job of vacuuming food for freezing or long term storage. Much more effective than trying to use the standard ziploc bags and suck the air out of them before closing!

Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Only took about 5 minutes to set it up and start using it. Does a great job, I love it!

This vacuum sealer is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use and is proving to be very economical for buying bulk food products.

The Seal-A-Meal is easy to use, easy to store and easy on the wallet. I couldn't be more pleased!

i cant get it to vacume and seal only one or the other but not both with one bag, if i can figure out what i am doing wrong then i would say its a great sealer cause when it does take the air out it is like wow

This product is great if you want to prolong the life of your grocery purchases. We use it to freeze chix and it works wonders

Works as advertised. Easy to use and does allow easier and longer food storage

Overall a good product works well a bit slow to seal but works fine id recommend to others

Helps to organize my food in the fridge/freezer, preserve food which makes it last longer and hence save me money and time to worry about food.

Very effective, convenient and easy to use. It helps me package my meat, and meal and I am able to pack my meal and meat in orderly manner in the fridge with space.

This sealer works great. You have to push fairly hard on top to get it to start sealing. Other than that, its great.

I have wanted a vacuum sealer for some time. This unit is everything I hoped for.

I have used a sealer similar to this one before and storing food was very simple. This machine needs everything lined up perfectly so that the bags will seal properly. I found it very frustrating to use.
