    Perfect Airpods competitors

One thing to note about these is the obvious similarities to their fruit-based competitors, Airpods. I personally have never owned airpods, but I can certainly tell you a good amount about these buds. 1. Yes, these can honestly be viewed as the "Android" version of Airpods. They're black, use usb-c and can be used with whatever bluetooth device that you want. 2. There is no airtight seal so you can let some sound in, as long as you angle them correctly. Just keep in mind that these do not shape and form fit to your ear. At one angle it can seal up and at another it can let some outside noise in, unfortunately following the "one size fits some" mentality that Airpods have. 3. The case is fairly small and could easily fit into any pocket you need to. 4. The sound is just great, bass heavy when the bud is positioned certain ways and can have excellent clarity when positioned in different ways in your ear. 5. There is no application connection. Which can be good and bad. Good because you don't need to download YET ANOTHER APP just to get these things to work. But Bad because you cannot change the EQ on these, cannot change the tap control combinations and you cannot turn off the pause when not in ear function. I do greatly appreciate Sennheiser not requiring an app for these to simply function, but this is one of the few times where I would want app compatibility for some customizations, or at least a way to turn off certain features through the buds themselves. I would say, just wait for a sale before grabbing these since their regular price is right up there with regular airpods.

Working well so far. The battery life is incredibly long. The only issue I have with these is the smart pause feature. It doesn't work well for me so I turned it off.

As the owner of a pair of Sennheiser - Momentum 2 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones for over 4 years now I was excited to try out these new open IEMs (In Ear Monitors)! I often wore my Momentum 2 IEMs while taking my daily walks and their ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) was fine but...I just did a firmware update on them and they, in effect, turned into a "brick". They no longer work. To the rescue came these wonderful Sennheiser Accentum Open IEMs!! They do not have noise cancelling electronics in them which means I am all the more aware of my surroundings on my walks without having to put a pair of ANC equipped earbuds/IEMs or headphones into "aware" mode! These little beauties are comfortable and easy to pair and they reproduce music quite well. I have a bit of a physical handicap that makes it somewhat difficult to walk without crutches, a cane or a walker but I take almost daily walks because I want to become better than I am and when I walk I very much enjoy listening to music and the Sennheiser Accentum connects flawlessly to my iPhone 16 Pro Max and allows me to listen to the soundtrack of my life while taking my walks to make that life a more healthy one! I can also take and receive calls via the Accentums. I need only say the words, "Hey Siri...Call______" and without fail my iPhone does just that! Touch controls are easy to use once you've accustomed yourself to them but to be honest, I quite often pull my phone from my pocket to answer a call. I listen to music at a very reasonable level and the "open" design of the Accentum allows me to hear what is going on around me and that is very important to me on my walks! Additionally I used them in our home for the same reason - Awareness. To be sure, there are plenty of times ANC is helpful but I got more use out of these on my daily walks than I have from wearing my over-the-ear ANC headphones. These are much easier to use when on my walks as they go into my ears instead on on my ears. It is getting very hot these days and wearing over-the-ear headphones is a real sweaty affair but not with the Sennheiser Accentums. Light, comfortable and more than up to the task of playing my music while letting me hear the world around me means that these IEMs are a fantastic upgrade of sorts for me! The longest I have worn and used them for is just over 4.5 hours and I have no doubt they will last for many more hours than that, especially so given that I do not listen at LOUD levels as I value my hearing and to be honest, I have no need to turn up the volume as the Sennheiser Accentums perform beautifully at the volume level I use for them! As a senior citizen who wants and needs to go walking on a daily basis not only for physical but mental health, I can tell you that these Sennheiser Accentums are just the ticket for me to stay aware while I am working on staying healthy! Highly recommended? Indeed!

I have been a fan of Sennheiser headphones for many years. My first over the ear pair was probably 30+ years ago and I loved them with my iPod music on planes and the noise cancelling was great! I hate to say, but I still take those and my iPod on the plane and they still work wonderfully! These are no different! They are wonderful! The sound quality is great as expected and the buds are comfortable in my ear. I don’t wear them for a long period of time because most earbuds start hurting over time. Sometimes I feel like the earbuds get loose and feel like they may fall out. That is a little bit irritating, but I just figure that is the size and shape of my ear canal versus other people. The controls are easy with controls on both of the ear buds. The left lowers the volume, fast backwards, and play/pause. The right increases the volume, fast forward, and play/pause. Either bud will answer or hang up a phone call. Overall a nice pair of buds with good quality sound and are comfortable.

[PROS] Great Battery: Battery life is the best feature of this phone. It lasts for a majority of the work day before needing a charge. However, it charges very quickly allowing me to get longer use. Decent Build Quality: I'm very satisfied with the construction of the earbuds. Although they are plastic in material, all plastic construction isn't the same. Earbuds you find in the checkout line don't compare to the ACCENTUM Open. I heard my environment well enough when my volume wasn't moderately high which was a positive. Above Average Sound Profile: These earbuds are tuned prior to using them. Personally, I think the default sound settings is decent enough, but it doesn't fit every category. [CONS] Severe Limitations/No App: The biggest flaw in the ACCENTUM Open is there's no app to do tweaks or changes. This creates a domino effect of missed functionality. There's not a way to disable or repurpose earbud tap functionality. This means that all adjustments have to be made physically. EQ setting profiles are also unable to be created. Although firmware updates may be unnecessary, they obviously can't be done in a straightforward manner if needed. [MIXED BAG] So-So Microphone: This microphone isn't strong, but it works well enough. I can have conversations with friends and family just fine, but its not outperforming similar products in its class. Okay Fit/Comfort: These earbuds are only mildly comfortable. In my opinion, they're not gentle enough on the inner ear to wear for more than 2 hours at a time. Furthermore, I found myself needing to readjust the the earbuds because they felt like they were slipping during certain activities. This happened more than I would have liked which doesn't instill much confidence in me using this product consistently on the go. [CONCLUSION] The ACCENTUM Open leaves much to be desired. Although they sound fine, they are not special. The lack of control takes away from the user experience, and I don't find them comfortable enough to use them as my daily driver. The "openness" of the earbuds was alright and Bluetooth switching performed as expected, but nothing was ever game changing. I feel like these earbuds are average with small pockets of greatness inside that can't be unleashed. Therefore, I can't recommend them.

Good choice for a comfortable "open" design earbud

The Sennheiser Accentum Open earbuds are an excellent product in the category of “open earbuds” that sit outside the ear canal and do not have a soft tip that fits into the canal (and collects wax!). They come in a case that is pretty much the size and shape of most wireless earbuds, with a USB port and a single LED that shows the charging status. Using the earbuds and recharging them in the case should get you up to 28 hours of playing time before having to connect the case to a USB charger. The earbuds are designed with an external stem similar to the ubiquitous AirPods. It took me a couple tries to figure out how best to seat them so that they were reasonably secure. Not having insertable tips automatically makes them comfortable for wearing for long periods of time. In use, I found that they did not block my hearing and I could converse with people when my music was paused, yet there didn’t seem to be any bleeding of sound to the people around me. The only drawback to the design is that they don’t feel fully secure in my ears and I wouldn’t wear them for anything active like running or cycling since they could get knocked off and be difficult to find. Also, there are no ANC features due to the “open” design. The controls are by touch rather than buttons, but on these the entire outside surface of the stem is the touch area; this makes for an easy touch target when reaching up to pause the music, adjust the volume, etc. I wore them while doing some indoor cycling and was able to use the controls without having to let up on my effort, which is not true for others that I’ve used. One feature that I liked that was new to me was the easy way that you can pair them with additional devices: with the buds in your ears, you just touch both stems for a few seconds and a musical tune tells you that they are in pairing mode. They can be actively paired to two devices at the same time but can only play from one at a time. As far as I could tell, there is no app that goes with them and thus no way to adjust treble-bass, but the default behavior is acceptable for a basic earbud product. One thing that was missing, as far as I could tell, was some sort of tone or beep that tells you that a device has connected. When I would take them out of the case and put them in my ears, nothing seemed to happen and I had to take my phone out to confirm that they had connected; this seems like an oversight unless I am just missing something. Overall, these are a good product as an “open” design earbud at a price that won’t break the bank.

Review for Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open Earbuds My old earbuds were losing their ability to keep a charge (they are pretty old!) so the Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open Earbuds seemed like a great opportunity to improve on them. They’re lightweight and SO comfortable in my ears that I can forget I’m wearing them. A big improvement over my older pair is that they can pair with up to eight different devices. Eight is probably more than I’ll ever need, but I have to say, it’s such a pleasure to be able to switch between my phone and my tablet without first having to disconnect the other device. This may not seem like a big deal, but when I’m all ready to go out for a walk or a run and I have to mess with the device I’m NOT carrying, well, it saves a lot of frustration. The case is also a charger, so just putting the earbuds away turns them off and keeps them charged. There’s no app required and the controls for using them are the most intuitive I’ve seen. Each bud has a touch panel on it (no buttons to push while they’re in my ears). Touch either bud to play or stop my music. Hold the left touch panel to lower the volume, the right one to raise it. Get it? L to lower; R to raise! Simple, but also easy to remember. Phone calls are also very straightforward. When I get a call, the music pauses and I can touch once to take the call, twice to reject it. Which brings me to the audio quality of these buds. When I make calls with them, I get comments like “such clear audio,” and “are you at home?” (When I was outside walking with traffic going by!) The same is true for playing music - the Sennheiser reputation for excellent sound quality shines through. I can’t believe the deep bass and treble produced by these earbuds. The sound is very true and realistic

    Amazing headphones from Sennheiser!

I've been an avid headphones user since I was a teenager, and as an adult, I still prefer to use them over speakers. Because of this, I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about what makes a pair of headphones special. Having spent some time with the Sennheiser Accentum Open earbuds, I can confidently say that these are in the “special” category. While it seems there is no shortage of earbud-type headphones these days, Sennheiser has managed to create a pair that offers great features, combined with exceptional sound quality. These headphones charge in their compact case, and slide into their slots perfectly with the aid of magnets. The sides of the earbuds (the piece that sticks out from your ear) are a touch pad, meaning you can control your media and phone calls from each earbud. Additionally, each earbud has a microphone, meaning you'll always be heard on the other end of a phone call. The Accentum Open model sits in your ear, and I found it to be much more comfortable than options that use silicone or foam ear tips. This design also allows you to hear what’s going on around you, which is great when you’re wearing these in situations where spatial awareness is important. That being said, these headphones have no noise cancellation, so if that’s important, you may want to look somewhere else. As for sound quality, these are simply incredible. I’ve been listening to lots of music with these, everything from hip-hop to rock, classical to electronic, and all genres sound phenomenal. There is plenty of bass, and it’s controlled and not muddy. The mid-range is above average, which I’ve noticed is a theme with other Sennheiser headphones. And the treble is bright and clear, but not fatiguing, which can happen with poor sound quality. Overall, I've been extremely impressed with how well these sound, which makes me want to listen to even more music. The touch pad features work great, and phone calls sound clear on the Sennheiser Accentum Open. With the charging case, you can expect to get over 25 hours of use, which is a long time in my book. The case uses (and comes with) a USB-C charging cable, which means it’s pretty well integrated with most modern technology. At the end of the day, I simply can’t find a fault with these headphones. Sennheiser has created a set that I will gladly wear, and I really don’t prefer to wear earbud-type headphones. These are incredibly comfortable, have useful features, and boast an amazing sound quality. Because of those facts, I have to say that the Sennheiser Accentum Open earbuds are a rather special set of headphones. Final Score: 5 Stars!

I was super excited to get these and try them out. I have always wanted this style and I was hoping for the best. Also, side note, I wanted these so that my wife could try them since most earbuds then to hurt her ears. First, very small box and a very small holding case that came 60% charges. I used the small USB-c cable and charged them up in a couple of hours. Pairing was straight forward, like most Bluetooth devices. I tried these with my volume booster/EQ on and off for comparison sake, and, as expected they sound better with the app on. Now, they fit in nice and you will find yourself trying to "screw" them in like other types of earbuds. It helps to keep them in but, like the name implies, these are the open and they just rest in the ear. My wife did not like this. Sound wise, they get pretty loud and sound pretty good. They do, however, lack bass since you are not able to "seal" them in. Bass is there, I know it is, I can hear it, but it just lacks the fullness and authority you are looking for. Calls are no problem and the side controls also function perfectly. Side note, I found myself trying to push them deeper into my ears and that toggled off various functions every time. So, these are good, but not great. I recommend them but they are not my first choice.

Packaging for these ear buds is very efficient to the point; using only packing materials and packing needed to get these into your hands making it environmentally friendly and recyclable. These will need to have an initial charge placed on them, please note no charger is included as they meet the industry standard of USB-C and are compatible with all chargers in use today. The battery charging case to store these in is sleek and design friendly to not take up too much space in you pocket and slide easily in/out when needed. The earbuds themselves and very nice and ear friendly, making them very comfortable to wear. The initial intro gives you the sound you’d expect from Sennheiser. The audio is very nice and sharp, clean and clear from music follow depth to conversation pieces. We have all gotten used to needing to have an app for this and an app for that, especially the various types of ear phones/buds. Guess what? No app is needed, just connect via Bluetooth and go. The main instructions are clear and easy to follow to get started with use and operation of the ear buds. The charge on these lasts quite a while with full daily use. Highly recommend these for audiophiles and others looking for a nice easy to use ear set.

Not what I was hoping for. I was in the market for so new ear buds and came across these. Small compact, wireless earbuds, that fit in the ear. These are supposed to be on the higher end of your everyday average earbud and honestly they’re just so so. I was kinda disappointed. I have still yet been able to connect them with the app so I can personalize the EQ and other features, the Bluetooth range is horrible in comparison to other brands I own. I typically leave my phone on my toolbox and move around the shop throughout the day, Other brands I am able to get 30 plus feet away from my phone and have no connection issues. With these I get about 10 feet and begin to have connectivity issues. Which is frustrating when you’re in the middle of a good song or important phone call. But there is some good things i do like about them. First they are pretty comfortable for an in ear style earbud. The sound quality is fairly decent( would probably be better if i could connect to the app and adjust some EQ settings). Phone call quality is great. The tap style controls work well. Battery life is decent. The case/charger is compact and fits in your pocket well, the lid on it feels a bit cheap. But all said the connectivity issues and not being able to use the app to adjust settings is what kills these for me. I’m sure some of these issues could be fixed with a firmware update but for an out of the package earbud i expected more for the price point.

Like many I've had my fair share of wireless earbuds, many of this design. It's a design that is supposed to be a place in ear, twist and gain traction, open up the ear canal, seal it. My ears are borderline immune to this placement, but I can obtain it, it takes work to position. However, once in place, this set is really just amazing, in how much bass, the loudness, yet perfect clarity. I played some Call of Duty on these and it worked very nicely, I also listened to voicemail, and left voicemail, all of which worked beautifully. The real attraction here is the simplicity of design, combined with the superb audio, so I don't really fault Sennheiser for the fact that the fitting of the earpiece is still somewhat baffling to me. If you have had no issues with this design, and you're one of the lucky people who can just place it in your ear and get that perfect seal where it won't fall out of your ears, then there is nothing at all to hold you back from wanting to obtain these. They pair easily in the recent iOS software on my Iphone 16 Pro Max, and as said before, the audio is stunning, deep, authentic and loud, without losing the clarity. The bass remains tight, no sloppy bass here, overall just a great sound.

Great Sound for a Very Particular Kind of Listener

The first day I spent with the Accentum earbuds was, admittedly, quite stressful. You see, I have somewhat weird ear canals and a history of being very easily distracted. I am very used to having earbuds suddenly drop out of place until I manage to figure out what the best cushion to use is. These, however, have no cushions. They are held in your ear with nothing more than friction and positive feelings. And while I am aware that many have gotten used to this with earbuds from other brands I have never trusted myself with those, and spent roughly six hours waiting for them to suddenly fall out and get stepped on. Much to my surprise, however, they did not. Sennheiser appears to have performed some kind of engineering wizardry to make these smooth plastic pods perfectly balanced so that they actually stay where you put them - which seems to be something they are quite good at. Simply put, these things sound a lot better than most things this small can manage. Audio is remarkably clear and has a surprisingly good range in both directions, making them a pleasure to use regardless of what kind of content you may be listening to at the moment. What's more, they're simple in a way that very few things today are. It was actually a little confusing when I first paired them to my phone and wasn't prompted to immediately install a companion app and create an account. Setup is literally nothing more than pulling them out and clicking a few buttons to run through the pairing process. Granted, there are some downsides here. No app means no options for tuning the audio to meet your personal preferences, so you're basically going to have to stick with the sound profile Sennheiser picked for you. You also won't find features like active noise cancellation, and the touch controls are quite basic and so far as I can tell probably unconfigurable. I didn't find myself missing any of this while sitting at home or walking around the neighborhood, but I imagine there are a lot of people who, say, regularly commute by train that would consider this to be an immediate dealbreaker. These are basically earbuds for the audiophile luddite community - which I understand is surprisingly large these days. So you might want to be aware of that before deciding if these are the right pick for you.

The Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open Black – Black earbuds surprised me from the start of removing them from its charging case. Looking at the instructions, I could not find a QR code or web address to install complementary software. After opening up all QR codes and the web address, I realized these earbuds do not require an app to install on my phone. I simply turned on my phones Bluetooth, took the earbuds out of their case and tapped ACCENTUM on my phone screen and paired them immediately. I can control all of the functions these earbuds offer simply by pressing the right or left earbud one time, two times, three times, or a long press. I can control volume, play/pause, forward track, reverse track, answer calls, hang up, and reject calls from tapping the earbuds. When I take one earbud out of my ear, it pauses my phone from playing music. The sound is clear and reaches all octaves to provide the best sound possible. I can hear my music and still hear sounds from my surrounding area for maintaining awareness. The Sennheiser ACCENTUM Open Black – Black are a good pair of earbuds with a charging case included for continuous music and communications.
